How does the game fit the theme?
Risk it for the biscuit:
In order to make a biscuit more delicious, you can dunk it in tea, however in doing so the biscuit can lose it's structual integrity and fall apart, both losing your biscuit and ruining the tea.
This game is all about that concept.
You are literally risking a biscuit to make a more delicious biscuit. (For a fictional Queen)

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Interesting idea and art. Sometimes difficult to know what is the biscuit needed. It was a bit of guessing :)

Funny game! It's kinda hard to know which biscuit is which though, I need to just guess

Cool pixel art

Chill game where I got to use my British upbringing to my advantage, well done

A cozy little game  the visuals and text transitions are  sometimes they felt a bit too fast and I couldn’t fully catch what was happening.

The gameplay isn’t very deep, but overall it’s still a fun and relaxing experience!

Love it! I made something similar but I love your take on it! Awesome artwork, as a tea drinker I knew what biscuits they were immediately !

The art is awesome, I liked the pixilated version of the queen,  backing track is nice, the dialogue is great but I wish there was an identifier for the cookies as I found myself having to search up the cookies in order to figure out which was which, but besides that it was really well executed and fun to play, nice job!

Haha such a nice idea!! I love the asthetics.

i dont know anything about cookies but this game is so charming! Kinda loved it.

The was so creative! I struggled figuring out which biscuit was which tho.

Nice game, I struggled a little at the start because I didn't know the biscuit's names, but I learned :D

Cool idea to put some pixellised real photos, how did you do that ?

Developer(+1)

I'm not entirely sure how the photos were pixellised, but I took some pics of myself doing various poses and sent them to my wonderful Pixel artist who did that for me, I made the soundtrack in FL Studio and cobbled it all together in Godot (With GDScript) :)
It's been fun seeing people learning the names of British biscuits through the game oh yes.

Hey! Artist here!  Spider Queen sent over some photos on a green screen. I scaled those down to the target resolution for the game in a photo editor, then imported those into godot and applied a shader i wrote to map the irl colors from the photo to the closest color in the Apollo pallet from the Lospec site that the rest of the game uses.  This got it about 90% there. Then spent about an hour manually touching up all the poses in Aseprite to remove some of the noise and draw the crowns onto her head since those weren't in the source images. Thanks for playing!

Pretty funny - acting is 10/10.

First playthrough was guessing biscuit's names, second one was guessing how to dip without losing my biscuit

Submitted(+2)

I had no idea which biscuit was which. Had to trial and error all the biscuits. Somehow, I've come out of this knowing the names of several biscuit types. I guess this counts as edutainment now. XD

Jokes aside, I loved this game. The gameplay was simple but so much fun and I am the biggest sucker for FMV and so this game made me happy. I loved all the other visuals as well and thought this was hilarious and fun. One of my favorite combos. Thanks for making this!

Unfortunately I was executed for my incompetence but I'm writing from beyond the grave to say this was hilarious! A+

As an ignorant plebeian, I had to use google to know what kind of biscuit the queen desired. 10/10, would drop the wrong biscuit in the queen's tea again.

Nice

Don't know my biscuits, but I must not offend the queen! 10/10 game. :D

Submitted(+2)

loved it!! the Jammy Dodger IMMEDIATELY made me think of the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who so bonus points for that lol :)

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely loved this game.  Welsh - and therefore biscuit-fluent - yet somehow still lost my head over Jammy Dodgers! A lot of fun.
