Just played your game and read your description.

Honestly, for a beginner dev, it looked really amazing !

You made a project grasping almost every important tool, using animations, good sound design, SFX,  visually coherent levels, animations..

It's a really good start and you can be proud of it !

It seems that I had some technical issues, like it was a little bit freezing sometimes. For my project I had this problem too, because the 3d models were generated with a LOOOOT of polygons. To have better performances I had to model everything with more low-polygons specs. You can check, in Unity there's integrated tools to track the use of CPU etc, it could help you for future projects.

Nice entry, and continue to having fun, learning and discovering during your game dev journey ! :)

Thanks for your comment , it means a lot!

It was my first 3d game and had a lot of fun doing scary scenes and sound designing it especially! I'm happy to hear that you loved it, this project teached me that it can be very fun to not focus on code but more in esthetic and feelings.

Thanks a lot for your comment ! It was my first horror game, I'm not really used to this genre but I tried to do my best, and I learn a lot of things like post-processing, and put a lot of efforts in audio design (lot of fun recording and modifying the sounds haha!).

I'm proud of what I did and I really appreciate that you enjoyed it :)

For the moment I didn't have the time to check other projects, but some of them are looking amazing and are appealing me, so I'll definitely try some games, including yours, and let some feedback in the comment sections.

Have a good day!

Hello,

I had a lot of fun participating at this game jam and I'm pretty proud of what I did. It was fun to learn more about 3D and to discover the 3d AI modeling. I submitted my game on itch.io this Saturday, and on the tripo website too. But this morning I wanted to modify a little bit the description on the tripo submission to give some tips about the controls and to specify where I put the documentation in the zip file. But this modification changed the status from "Published" to "Under review".

I'm a little bit confused and I want to be sure that my submission will be seen properly. Do I have to do something else, or should I just wait for the review of my submission? Here is my itch.io submission : https://traguilar.itch.io/a-portal-between-us-the-last-chance

Thanks a lot for your answer, have a good day !

I think I'm a bit confused about the submission format, because it's written that we have to make a compressed ressource package, and a quickly playable version. Do we need to make an executable, or more like a Unity Asset pack ? Thanks a lot for the answer!

For example, I have submitted the Google form and didn't have any code, is this normal ?

I already did it at the start of the jam and received correctly the tripo studio points.

Hello,

I almost finished my project and I wanted to be sure to submit it correctly, so I have a few questions.

First of all, if I understood correctly, the game has to be a Windows build (.exe), compressed in a .zip file with the template document containing the inspirations, 3d links...   Right ?

I've done some game jam but usually the submission is a webGlBuild. If the target submission type is a downloadable windows build, is there any tips or recommendations for screen settings, do's and don'ts or anything like that ?

I'm also a little bit confused about the fact that there is the tripo submission AND itch.io. If I understood correctly, the main submission way is to publish it directly on tripo. I think that I'll publish it on both, to be sure. I saw that there is like a submission code on the tripo site, but I didn't understand well when will we receive this code, and what's the purpose of this code ?

I think that I almost understood well how to publish, and maybe doing it I will have some answers, but I just wanted to be sure that my project will be received correctly.

Thanks a lot for your answer and for organizing this game jam I am enjoying a lot ! :)

Thanks for your answer !

Hello,

I'm actually enjoying the jam and the discovery of Tripo AI, that gave me some good models for my game.

But when I tried to mix them in a scene, really quickly the FPS droped, due to the walls and floors generated by the AI. I'm really happy with the character model and some interactive elements, but I'm struggling a little to have everything made by Tripo without having trouble with framerate and performance.

I was wondering what are the rules about the using of Tripo models. Do we need to do everything with the model, or a mixed project could be acceptable ? (By mixed, I'm saying like making the core gameplay interactive elements with Tripo, but doing main walls and floors with basic shapes in Unity)

It's my first time working with 3d models, so maybe I did something wrong creating or importing the models, so any tips will be carefully listened.

Thanks a lot, have a good day!

Hello,

I'm currently making kind of a horror game, is it possible ?

I'm doing something really soft, there isn't jumpscare and the game's feel will be more focused on music/spooky atmosphere.

Thanks for your answer.

Hello,

if I understood well, we have to make a whole level, and have some actions or some conditions to go to the next level. But do we have to create a second scene and do the transition between the other scene ? Or maybe you will do this combination and the scenes transitions in the final cohesive game ?

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Thanks a lot for your comment, it really means a lot ! I'm a really huge fans of card games and wanted to improve at developping it and to make a simple game that could be an introduction to deckbuilding for people that didn't know this genre. I also tried to play with my weaknesses, so I chose to make a simple art-style, really well executed by my wife. I loved the chakira's inspired designs (and she insisted to put Chigüiro's cute name :) )
About the difficulty, I wanted something smooth early to avoid frustration, but with some challenge to make a really "winning" feeling, so I'm really glad that you found the difficulty well curved too.

Thanks you again, it really motivate me to keep working, learning, and enjoying doing card games ! :)

Thanks a lot! We are pretty proud about the result and glad that you liked it! I don't know if you managed to win a run, but there's some informations about Colombian's culture and nature as a reward! :)

Thanks for playing, I hope that you liked it :)

Yes it's true that music could fit better the theme, but I didn't want to put salsa, cumbia or caribbean music because I wanted something more nature-based, but maybe I could use something better.

I'm glad that you liked the art, my wife did a great work drawing and designing chakira's inspired designs for each kind of type, and I'm proud of how the animations looked. They are basic but they add a lot of life I think :)

I'm going to play every submission, so I'll play yours and give you a review.

Have a good day !

Hello,

I just rated your game, it was pretty cool and I discovered a new classic game :)

Here is my submission, a hand drawn roguelike cardgame based on Rock paper Scissor :

https://traguilar.itch.io/rock-paper-dungeon

Hope you'll like it :)

Didn't know this game but it was really fun, thanks for the discovery !

I liked that you used some real pictures, how did you do to "transform" the pictures ?

Thanks for your feedback, I'm happy that you enjoyed it!

I'm aware of this quality of life issues, some bugs etc and couldn't fix everything during the due time :/

But we believe in the concept and decided to make it a commercial project, well designed and balanced, so stay tuned ! ;)

I fell in love with the art style ! It's amazing to see that with creativity, we can make something really unique, and we can make videogames with every kind of graphic medium ! (photo, digital drawing, painting...)

Incredible graphics and atmosphere! Congratulations for the graphist and the one that did VFX, lights etc.

Really pleasant work ! :)

Great concept, I liked the fact that we have to calculate the risk for our turns. I would like to see more progression, like gaining new abilities, polishing our deck of abilities or idead like that to add more replayability.

Good work! :)

The game design was incredible, I really loved it ! The fact that the level spawns piece by piece, the hurry to remind the labyrinthic level etc.. Well done ! :)

Incredible game ! Stunning visuals, well balanced gameplay and difficulty, really good work, congratulations ! :)

Super ! It was a really fun game, I liked it! The art fits really well and the difficulty is well balanced, well done ! :)

Fun concept, I really liked the table tennis inspired gameplay to avoid the shot :)

Oh I didn't see the gravitational impact, I'll give it another try :)

Super nice concept to play that way with gravity ! I would like a little bit more "visibility" for the gravity. For example, I thought that little planets would have a low effect but they had a great gravity effect, impossible to figure it out without trying.

Great work anyway! :)

Nice concept, I felt a little bit like in the COD zombie mod, with menaces from eveywhere !

Nice job! :)

Nice concept, I liked how you have to make decisions between making easy fights or more difficult ones but with greater rewards.

Really nice idea, I really loved the fact that we're playing in a book ! Original and very cool idea!

Really good vibes game ! It would be perfect with few QOL improvments : see the amount of money remaining while buying, knowing at which cost we bought the cookie ...

Great work ! :)

Nice game, it gave a good twist to slot machine games, with really well made visuals!

Really cute game, I loved it ! But I think that my opponent's cheating, I never won haha (or maybe I'm bad at this game ^^)

Really great game with coherent visuales and cool gameplay, well done !!

Nice submission, the game works well and have a good concept. I suggest you to make some better controles, because for example when I selected a gold card, I can't change my mind and select other gold card, because the game says that I can't combo gold ones.

Keep it up, nice work !

Really good game, with efficient mechanics! The music fits really well. The only downside I saw is that the numbers may be overpixelated on the cards sometimes.

By the way good job ! :)

Quite fun game, I liked the art design and the sound design is simple but efficient ! The concept is great, but I would like a little bit more balance or variety. For example, spikes and bite are quite the same effect.

By the way, good work ! :)

Really fun game, it makes me really feel that I'm the hungry dog, noce work !

Great entry ! I really liked the fact that we see the opponent's face, gave a really good poker vibe, very pleasing ! :)

Really great concept ! I really loved the flavor put on gameplay mechanics. The thirst mechanic is really well implemented, and the game is really great ! Congratulations!

Thanks for your review! I totally agree that there's lack of polish and these kind of comfort elements are really importants and have to be strongly considered to help smoothing players experience :)

Hello, I struggled and didn't have the time to implement drag and drop, so to play a card is like the old way : click the card to select it then click the character to apply it the card effect
