Very fun!

Super cute and fun to play. One of the best games I played!

Developer

Awesome to hear you liked it! Thanks for playing :)

Really fits the theme well, I like that the cards were bitten :)

Developer

The rats were looking for cookies :)

Really cute game. The art is absolutely phenomenal! The sound is fitting as well with overall great feedback for player actions.

With these kinds of games i always think what is the player agency, what choices can player make to express their understanding/skill in the game?  It mostly seems random because enemy cards seems to be random and which ones they choose seems random so in a round not much i can do but to blindly choose a cards and hope its a good one.

Still overall great game.

Thanks for your feedback! I actually really like luck-based games, so I designed this game to rely on luck, but with also a reliance of the skill of ✨ moderation ✨. A boring skill I know, but it's one that is important to most gambling-type games. When selecting the opponent cards you have a guarantee of one biscuit, so you get to calculate the risks of going for that biscuit based on your current status. If you're winning, you might choose to stop once you've flipped a card. If you're losing you might go all in and flip all the cards, even after you have found the first.

Similarly to that is how you pick the cards you'll be showing the opponent, which have the potential of them being double-edged swords. If you have cookie shields, you can send a hoard of rats after them or pray for a hidden favor to fall upon you. Or you could hide biscuits and hope they don't get found.

I'd like to compare it to blackjack where it's also a luck-based game, but what matters is what you do with that luck and knowing where to draw the line. In riscuit, the luck factor exists alongside some elements of defense and offense - like if in blackjack you could get numbers to deduct the cards of others. It is of course less polished since I haven't designed a card game before and there was only a week 😅

This is such an adorable game! I love the art so much even though Mitts is being an enormous jerk to me right now

I know you didn't do the music/sfx yourself but the ones you chose really fit the art well to create a great atmosphere in this game. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm so happy you stopped by! Mitts is just doing it all for the biscuits - only some malice intended 😌

Really cute game, I loved it ! But I think that my opponent's cheating, I never won haha (or maybe I'm bad at this game ^^)

Really great game with coherent visuales and cool gameplay, well done !!

Thank you and I hope you had fun!  Luck of the draw factors in too, so sometimes the opponent tends to get a headstart - whenever I'm losing I tend to actively release all the rats so that I can sabotage the opponent and even things out🐀

Cute little game. I liked the strategy of it, although I am not sure how much luck plays into it. It would probably work great as a physical multiplayer card game. I especially like the art and the choice of music. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Good decisions can go a long way in the play, but a little luck doesn't hurt ;)

The complexity of the strategy is deceptively complex! There are many aspects to consider. Although there are not many cards, there is still an excellent game system here. I would love to have it as an irl card game too! The fact that the effect affects the player of the cards if the other player didn't pick them is fantastic and opens a whole new level of mind games. Very impressive entry! One of my favorites so far.

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm really happy to hear that! I think it would be fun irl since there's the addition of the other player's body language and speech to sway your decisions 🤔

This is such a good game!! I love the idea! This game wins in aesthetics ngl. The bot is intelligent and hard to play against, and the risk management needed to win is really nice. I'd like to see some kind of leaderboard to compare my performance to other players, and maybe even a multiplayer version. Very very well done

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you! I hadn't thought of a leaderboard, perhaps that could record speed, moves or biscuits :O

Lovely art style and the way that you show the opponent "thinking" is really cool!  I think I encountered a bug, because the opponent went from 81 to 813 biscuits in one round and I lost quite suddenly.  But that didn't stop me from having a good time!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! I think you might have run into a rare situation where the opponent flipped the mischief card and had all of their cookies turn into biscuits at once haha. I planned to add a visual effect to better convey card effects but ran out of time >< I'm glad you still had fun!

also oops it was meant to be a B not an 8! I really should remove that... 😌

Ah, haha, that makes a lot more sense!

Great game! I like the risk management involved in the card choices and also like the cards design, specially how some cards synergize with others depending on your opponent's actions. A multiplayer version of this would slap. Amazing visuals and choice of music, love the characters. Nice job!

Developer

thank you, that's so nice to hear. I'm glad you enjoyed! :)

Very clever design, and perfect use of theme!

The rules were easy to understand once I played a few rounds, and I still felt like I could take calculated risks (ensuring each hand has a biscuit was a great choice). The art is super charming and the information is very digestible too, loved the little details like the chomped off corners on the cards.

Super fun game, great job :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Having a biscuit in every hand was enforced to let the player think about how far they would like to risk it once they find a reward, so hearing your feedback is great proof it is working :D

This was one of the most fun games I have played this game jam. As simple as it is, the art style, the music, and the ideas behind the cards were so interesting. Really great work! Poor mitts though we could've atleast shared a single biscuit after we won

Developer

thank you! I'm so happy to hear that 🤭 I'm sure mitts can sneak a biscuit or two from the back of the pile....

Quite a cozy little game, great art and the music selection fits well! Not sure I understood  the rules as I'm not sure how I won but regardless it was a fun play!

The art style and music is amazing. It is so cute, would be a really fun multiplayer game. Love the name 🤣🤣

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

thanks! I'm happy to find others who also like this odd name 🤭

Very enjoyable! The visuals are so well done

I found the artwork quite pleasant.

I was a bit confused if I was adding cards to my deck or my opponents deck.

Also a list of what cards are in each deck might help, I couldn’t formulate a strategy for how many cards I wanted to flip over.

The opponent choosing what cards to flip was also slow.

Nice job with the sound effects and animations though.

The gameplay and visuals were really unique, I had fun playing it
