Really cute little experience! It reminded me a lot of a sort of faster paced Pikmin, which is sort of paradoxically really unique and interesting. I lost many a brave soldier to the stovetop and more control over the traps would have been nice but aside from that I really liked this

Great idea but its really hard to make the poor ants come back safely :’) tho very charming

Really charming game! I loved the idea . I did find it tricky when the ants wandered into hazards on their way back, so maybe some kind of pathing or trail following system would help. still, super fun to play and very impressive for such a short time!

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah, we plan to look into getting safer travel home

Very nice idea, bit of a pikmin vibe to it

Pretty cool! I love the idea—it goes really well with the theme.

The puzzles made me kinda tense—I just wanted to keep the ants alive Hahaha.

Plays smoothly—awesome work! :D

Very cool RTS. I loved the idea, and it was fun to play, always wanted to control ants, got final score of 128
Now there were some issues and here is the list:
when ants return there is no control, so most died to that
most of the traps are so fast they are almost unavoidable
ants not always spawned.
is it possible to get cookie box? how much ants would it need?
Otherwise awesome game matches theme perfectly.

Thank you!

WOW! 128! I didn't even know it could get that high!!!

All good points and will be kept in consideration.

We had planned to get the biscuit tin to work but ran out of time. We wanted to add extra steps with the biscuit tin where you had to sacrifice ants to smash the tin open and have the biscuits fly out everywhere. Needless to say we should prioritise bug fixing first

Really creative and out of the box concept, and the game is basically done too. Making a game like this, even if a simple concept, in just a week is very impressive, especially for a team of 2.

I loved the vibe created by the visuals and sound effects. The theme was incorporated in a nice way as well. At some point I had one ant left and couldnt find it anywhere so I kinda got stuck, but otherwise no complaints.

Thank you!

We noticed that bug of losing ants randomly, looking at a solution for after jam of a hotkey event to send all ants home

Wow, really great game, it actually reminded me of Pikmin! :) The movement felt fluid and responsive - the ants  did what I wanted, haha. The only thing I was missing was some way to stop the ants after they picked up the cookie. Once they started carrying it back to the base on their own, a lot of them got killed, and I really wanted to stop them but couldn’t. If there were a way to stop them, I think it would make the experience even nicer… unless that challenge is intentional, of course. Either way, I had a ton of fun - congrats on such a great game!

Developer

Thank you!

One of the things we wanted to do was allow control to allow use to alter the direction they went but chose to shelve it for time constraints. We are definitely hoping to looking at adding something for return journeys

I really loved the game and agree with what the person before me has said about it so I won't reiterate the same thoughts xD I'll keep an eye out if the game ever gets continued, well done! C:

Thank you!

We do intend to experiment more with the game and are in talks where to take it

This is such a great pikmin game! The design is well made, the gameplay and risk is incredibly fun and polished and I love the charm of this game. Suggestions:

  • It’s hard to keep track of all the ants
  • It’s such a shame the ui isn’t the greatest

Overall this is a great entry! PLEASE PLEASE, make it into a full game!

Great pikim inspired game!  my only complain is sometimes the ants doesnt go together and lose the control over them

Submitted(+1)

Thought the concept was really unique and cool! I do wish you could control the ants on the way back, I also lost almost all my ants because they ran into the obstacles. I also think you could make the camera movement a bit smoother as it was a bit hard to place exactly where I wanted it. Other than that, I really liked trying the game!

Developer

Thanks!

Yep, good points there, will take on board for future work 🙂

Great Pikmin like game! Very impression game for only two people. My only complaint would be not being able to control the Ants on the way back as they would unfortunately run straight into the obstacles. If you decide to continue the game it would be neat if you were to make it so that their trip back always follows the trail you took to get there as real ants leave a scent trail for others to follow so this would sort of be like that. In doing it this way the player now needs to carefully consider their trip to the treat in the first place least it be wiped away by the roomba or go over a hot stove at time when its not safe on the way back.

Very cute and fun game! And maybe also on the addictive side! I also really liked the graphics and music. I did have some issues with directing the ant to pick up certain things. Also, I think it'd be great if you could also direct the ants back. All too often, my ants would grab one of the biscuits and then walk right over the stove and die. Otherwise, good job!

Interesting game idea - I feel like being able to set paths that ants can follow autonomously would be an interesting addition, because I felt that some obstacles like the oven were just unavoidable when pathing back to the base. I really enjoyed it, visuals and sounds were fitting. I will mourne the loss of all 50 ants to a randomly speedy roomba ^^

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Ooh! I like the idea of setting premade paths, may look into that if you don't mind.

Wow, 50! you stuck to that for a while!
