Thank you for such deep an thoughtful review, you make me feel that sleepless nights spent making this was not for nothing.
which games? i would like to continue making this game and want more inspiration, I used as reference miner (android) motherload (flash) steamworld dig 2 (pc) and blaster master (nes). I would love to play more similar games.

  • this was a last second addition, before that you could only buy full tank and fuel was twice the price, so every block mined had to be planed.
  • i was not sure how should i reward player, I wanted beating dinosaur to feel rewarding. also it was back when gas was twice the price. also also I wanted to let players relax for a minute about gas and just explore the area around.
  • you are very generous calling gas statuses clear ;D I thought about doing that, drill should do some damage. so if player would collide with dinosaur head-on (and only then) it should damage it at the cost of health.
  • thanks

I had a lot plans, upgrade, difficulty balance, out of vehicle movement, giant worms, different biomes and much more, I had to prioritize, but i still plan to finish it and implement everything.
Again thank you, you are amazing.

This is amazing, most original idea, most fun gameplay, most polished game overall. and you did this all by yourself. It even has cool story. This is amazing.
now to the nitpicking.

I was stuck for quite some time on the last checkpoint because i did not realize enemies were respawning, so i was trying to clear them before getting to boss

enemy bullets feel very unfair, first they go trough walls (so does players but still, feels unintuitive) second and this is what makes them very hard to avoid, the camera is centered so there is not time to react. it is considered a good practice to move camera ahead in direction of movement to give player reaction time

and game hanged after i tried to start it after beating it.

but that is really nothing compared to how good this is.

thank you, i know
i had a lot planed, upgrade, difficulty balance, out of vehicle movement, giant worms, different bioms. but time is a cruel mistress.
btw, have you reached dinosaurs? pyramid?

thanks <3 nice to know my effort did not go to waist and someone saw it.
(P.S. you can change rating if this detail changed your opinion about my game :P )

sorry, it seams i got to good at this game and did not balanced the difficulty properly.
well if you still want to see dino. you need to consider few things:
digging takes much more fuel than any other actvity. so if you are low on fuel try to get back to station without doing any digging, diging movement is grid based, so it shouldnt be hard to avoid digging and  tracing back your path.
there is a second gas station near first dino

awesome dude, i almost turned of before getting to first upgrade :D

cool idea and execution. really had fun, struggled with getting to leaderboard

crave for more upgrades

thanks , yeah, i only had few hours to work a day, had to preoritize something. Sorry for your frustration, did you reach dinosaurs? pyramid?

Overall a nice and fun prototype
i didnt know i need to hit tower several times to destroy it, i just assumed it was broken once the purple light goes out, and since counter wasn't going down i tried shooting tower and not generator. without reading a comment would not guessed it
werry intersing ai, it does not react if im near or even atack tower, only if they are attacked. and those emoticons are very cool
wouldve been nice if you would preoritize enemy visuals over cities.

Yeah, I collected flowers (turned on lamp post as well), I meant when does story progress? do you collect some number of flowers? is there a win condition?

Nice, loved the graphics, but what is goal?

I think i found a way to cheese it, I found strategy that  will let me go as much cycles as I like

Thanks, this means a lot to me. Yeah, I was overwhelmed with work this few weeks, I was planning for less, just killing eyes and getting high score, but couldn't force myself to cutdown my game. I will certainly finish this game. Thanks again.

great game, but i just can't go past getting uv flashlight

jumpscare was a bit out of place for my taste, the whole game is goofy horror, it's something between earie and funny. but then there's this somewhat  more realistic jumpscare.
also, the walking gets a bit tedious

i like the original gameplay

Amazing, loved the game, so checkpoints would've been nice, died and restarted too many times :D

pretty cool fun little maze

very cool game, gives of vibes of old atari game

Very cool game, loved the idea of seeing enemies footsteps

really amazing, simple but captivating, the motive is also very deep that you need to save people and avoid destroying them to get more points.

🤣 wow, amazing, lucky you.  you should definitely include this story somewhere in the description, this origin makes this game even more fun and cool.

This was very nice, short but fun, weird and cute, loved weird paper graphics, quirky dialogs. all was amazing, its impossible to really finish it on first run, would be nice if time would pause on dialog, some very amazing time based games do it *cough* outer *cough* wilds

Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot for me 😊😊

Yeah, I need to think a lot about balance, it's haaard 😂

Thank you, I didn't think to have structures that have this properties, putting further having any different effect is especially interesting suggestions. if this games will get above 1000 in ratings I will definitely continue implementing it :D

I'm glad you liked my suggestion, but not my idea to be honest, it's from board game - Settlers of Catan. if you haven't played it you definitely should try to play it with friends, looks and plays a bit like your game. Meanwhile here's the gist of it: In it you need to use resources to build houses and roads to collect more resources, you also could trade resources with other players on any agreed rate 1-1, 2-1, 1-2, 2-3 and so on. If no one is willing to trade or there is a shortage, you could trade with bank at rate of 4 same resources for any 1 other. You could also build house on predefined general port and get rate of 3-1, or build house on specialized port with rate of 2-1 (specialized ports will only except specific resource, like 2 wheats for any resource you want). There are also many expansion, like sea expansion, where you can build sea routes with ships to get to other islands.

Amazing amount of work and details, very fun and interesting. But g-d almighty is it buggy and lagy and than buggy again. And I have normal PC i5-9k 1070ti 32gb, its not top but more than enough for any modern game, how is it making it stumble? No, this is not rhetorical, I really want to know, maybe you left in all of the debug.log(print) statements?

Next time we get together this week we will definitely play again. It kind of reminded us of Super Bunny Man so that what we played for the next hour after we were done with SEALS. Were you inspired by it, or more by smash bros? anyway I understand your frustration but any party game has a mandatory inferior single player.

You wanna know how's storm? it's f-ing frustrated :D
Sorry for this, couldn't hold myself. but really it's too hard, couldn't make it past level 3, got cramps in my left hand. I would suggest to at least label the pushy parts with keyboard letters. i just cant map colors to letters.

Thank you, yeah, I know, I was franticly putting together whatever I had in the last minutes of jam.

Thank you, I'll try to give it more time, I just take part in multiple game jams beside my daytime job :D but if this game gets in top 1000 I will definitely give it more time and finish it :D

Nice game, but a bit slow, got about 3-4k and turned it off, thought there was nothing more to the game, saw your description that there are ghosts, played some more, ran from ghosts, got 4.1k. got game complete screen, haven't seen any storm.

I dislike bullet hell games, bullet hell section in Nier Automata felt like a chore.
But this, this was different, really enjoyable, adding dash with iframe was genius game design decision. The only thing I would like changed is adding dash cooldown indicator.
otherwise amassing, top entry.

nice game, loved different endings, it took me few tries to figure out correct strategy.

amazing game, played with friends for 30 minutes, but we never survived till storm :D i will believe you it happens, there are some minor collision bugs, it seems player 1 have fully implemented collision, but player 2 not.

Best game I played so far, fun, addicting, literally can't stop playing.

But there are few things that would be nice to ballance, start is hard, mid game is just right, and late game is too easy. Resource management is too hard in begining, would be nice to have ability to move workers, and also to trade resources you need to wait for trade card, that could take 1 to 30 days to come. Trading system like in Catan would've been nice like 4 to1.

Nevertheless this game is amazing, it's everything I wanted my game to be, but couldn't. Thank you for making it.

It is really nice simple and fun, but I must agree with other peoples issues.
aside from that, it would be nice if there would've been item names, cause its hard to know what are does things, was that meat? were those planks or books? idk. also if you passed the storm, it would've been nice to know what it took, did i guessed correctly or got lucky, third thing that bothered me is that traders don't show what they want before you trade with them. I was stockpiling blue and red vials, and had enough, than trader came, and right after him came the storm, so I was 1 short on red and had to bribe the storm.

last but not least, I passed 4 or 5 storms (i think) but game hasn't ended yet, does it has ending or its infinite?

Cool, but it would be nice to get some hints what should be placed where, and maybe a bit more time.

Yeah, I know what you mean, once I implemented procedural generation in game jam, had no time left for the rest of the game.

Amazing graphics, style just fit very well, idea is great, and fits theme perfectly, but omg, controls, it feels like pushing tank by hand on ice. 1% responsiveness.
