I like the style a lot, and this was pretty fun to play, I the upgrading the enemies aspect.
This was super cool. I really like the character design and the art style in general is great. I think the roguelike rpg-ish gameplay is fun, but it felt a bit too easy, I don't think I was ever going to fail and I was one shotting everything except the big dudes. Would be cool to see a wider variety of upgrade and defect cards between waves too, but I totally get not having time to add a million of them for a 1 week jam. Great work on this!

not sure how it ties to the theme. i think the game is a bit slow and boring. i love the visuals and the characters. i think if the game had a more mix of actions or abilities and cards, would be more slay the spire and would love that.

The art and the theme were very good, though the gameplay got a bit repetitive. It was unclear if there was any point in fleeing or guarding since you seem to have to defeat the enemies, so they don’t seem to have much effect. I also sometimes got the same blessing for all three options, and the trials seem to keep pace with the blessings, so there isn’t a big sense of progression. I think the main thing that would help here is more clarity on how things are improving, and a little more player agency in actively making choices. Great start to a game though!

Great music and sounds effects, I also like the pixel art. I was not sure if the game goes forever until I die, would be good to have some kind of reward or progress towards something beside just surviving as many rounds as possible. I really like the idea of picking blessing to make you stronger and also trials to make the enemy strong. It is a good entry, well done.

Art is beautiful, and the mechanic of chosing how enemies scale seems interesting. Would like to see this expanded further.

This is a nice concept of a game. Love picking the blessings (always attack +5 if available for myself). Art was also really well done. Good job on this one!

I really liked it! Had a quite a bit of fun playing with the different upgrade/challenge combinations!
My one comment is that the music abruptly cut out after a while, but I wish it looped! Brought a great atmosphere to the game, and I probably would have stayed on longer if it kept playing. Just food for thought.

Neat concept! I like the turn-based element of the game. However either I didn't understand it correctly or something else happened, but I just chose. +5 to attack every time I had a choice and pretty much wiped out everyone with 1-2 hits, so maybe you need to patch it :) I like the idea!
Thanks for the comment! it basically u hit critical damage all the time, that's why the enemy can get wiped out with 1-2 hits, actually we will add more trials and blessings later

Nice game! I love the art style, the color choices are great and the enemy designs spark my imagination. Reached 11 rounds.
I did not use guard at all. Because you need to deal damage to the enemy to win I did not know when to use it. Also I lost when i tried to flee but nothing happened and the enemies butchered me. Maybe I'm missing something. The attack sound is nice. You can Maybe add sounds for other things like card picking etc.

Thanks for the feedback, the flee button is not working because we supposedly trash it, and the guard is kinda trashy too..... I hope we can fix that later!
Love the sound effect and artstyle, The gameplay could be improved maybe start with tutorial that include niche mechanic for guard, item or skills. Overall its a nice prototype, can't wait to see it full :D
