Fun game! I think the mechanic of gaining experience across runs to unlock new power ups which let you finish the level quicker is nicely done. Stands out among other games this game jam. Nice job on this!

NAH MY Dawg!!! This game is ballin! Making this as your first game over the course of just one week is actually insane to me!!! you can be really proud of yourself cause this was i think the game ive had the most fun with this jam! The concept is really simple but if actually never seen a linear game where you gain abilitys, but that was absolutely satisfiyng!! Flying over the obstacles you struggled with before feels so good!!!

(i wish there was buttonremaping, i mean not that that would be a realistic critique since i know button remapping is a pain in the ass... but the button layout did confuse me as a celeste player lol) Anyways if your not totally burned out this game has a lot of potential! id definitely play another level og this one if your interested to keep working on it XD

while im here one nitpick: id remove the little red bushes above your deathpits cause they read like they deal damage but they dont! If you wanna give a heads up to the player just add something like a warning sign but i honestly think you could just remove them...

anyways who cares id love to see speedrun video of that game cause i lowkey suck ass lol im at 40 seconds rn how do people get 11XD

Very fun game! I found the concept really cool and easy to grasp after one or two tries. I did notice a small bug, when I kept pressing "D" after dying, the character became invisible but was still movable and didn’t die or respawn. However, the player controls feel smooth and enjoyable, and the level design is well adapted to the mechanics we unlock later on. I think it’s a very cleverly designed game. Nice work!

Nice turn on the theme! I would love to see this expanded further.

This was a very unique game! I love the fact that its still entirely possible to beat the level regardless of whether you die, really seals in the fact that dying actually makes you go faster! All the power ups you get along the line also make it very neat and replayable! Ony thing i noticed was that the player animations sometimes get glitchy and if you jump out of the grass after death you dont actually end up dying but the game just kinda breaks

The only thing I had difficulties with was the wall jumping. Next to that it was a really well done game. It has an original take on the theme (dying is good) and it is addicting. No idea how someone is able to beat it in 11 seconds since my fastest time (after all upgrades) was still around 30. Great job!

That was a really cool platform speedrunning game. I like how as you progress's, you unlock more abilities to help you get through the game faster and I like how there are many different routes to take! Well done!

Rated -- loved everything about this game! SO FUN!

Very nice game idea. It was pretty satisfying to play. The only issue was the jumping hight as well as wall jumps which I gave up on after trying for a while. I would now build on this with new abilities and levels since after you will unlock all abilities and finish the game fast enough it gets repetitive pretty quickly. But still nice work.
Despite showing another game under my comment, here is a game I would like you to comment and rate if you of course didn't do so already:  https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3328267

Great concept that was executed well. My only gripe is the jumping controls and height. It was a little frustrating trying to get onto platforms and wall jump using the up key.

Nice game ! I really liked the mechanic of searching for a way to die to spawn to the closest checkpoint, really well made! My highest score was 29 seconds B)

Loved this so much!

This game was so fun and interesting, i loved the idea of the same level but the more you play the more abbilities you win, the only thing that i would change would be the controls, something maybe like space for jumping and shift for dash i feel like could be great, my highscore was 31 seconds

The movement system was really satisfying.  I felt that I could sit here and continue speedrunning it for like 20 more minutes.  Very efficient use of the level and abilities to compete for the fastest time.

Also, I appreciate that w was jump.  IT'S BETTER THAN SPACE OKAY

I really liked the gradual implementation of abilities. A great game for speedrunning. Great work!

I thought I finished the game, but then I read the insructions and then I got hooked. Retro music, stunning visuals and poor and polished gameplay. What else do we need?

Nice game and with a nice idea! The "dying to progress" idea is pretty fun, especially in the speed game types, and the leaderboard gives an incentive to play. I also liked the music a lot!

It's a pretty fun game overall 7/10

Good job man! Loved the fact that dying helps you, nice idea! Well polished game, good visuals. Particular mention should be made of the key explanations on the game page - a picture is worth 1,000 words!
Other than that, I was not able to perform the wall jump. Very good work overall!

Memorizing all the bush locations and getting there faster with new abilities was pretty fun. Speed games are always a treat for me.

Very fun, it rewards replayability and prepares you for the real challenge: the community with its absurd times.
