Very fun! I love mazes. And cookies lol

Submitted

Cute art, and nice music, but it should loop. Right now it stops playing after a while. At first I misunderstood and thought I'd die if I ran out of cookies, but then I got it. GJ!

Submitted

Congrats on your first game, very impressive! While first playing it I assumed if I ran out of cookies I would lose but realized it was more of a way to retrace your steps but not a health indicator. Either way, I made it out of the maze!

Submitted

Don't know what the game is about, but I like picking up cookies.

Developer

haha, I do too! Thanks for playing!

Simple yet fun game! I really like the visual! :D
I really like the cookie crumbs mechanic! it helps a lot on tracking your way in the maze!
the overall control and gameplay are nice and intuitive! wish it had a longer gameplay tho
Idk, if I finished it too quickly or sumthin XD

Developer

Hehe You might be the only one hoping for longer gameplay ;) I debated it, but wasn't sure how to continue enticing the player for much longer... and I ran out of time haha. I'll try to make a longer game next time! Thanks so much for playing!

The movement should react to the button pressed, right now only one direction can be active, which feels like i am fighting controls little bit. Also some SFX are missing. But otherwise for first game, it is nice!

Developer(+1)

Great feedback! re: controls, I wonder if that'll be addressed if I implement an 8-directional movement instead of 4. Also agree on the SFX! I'll definitely allocate more time for that next time. Thanks for playing!

Very fun while it lasted. Love that I can shoot in more than one direction. Fun graphics. Cool voice acting.

Playing in browser, the game sent 2 enemies and set a counter for 3, so I could not finish the level. Tried several times. Maybe I am missing something that went wrong...

Good visuals and a music in the background would be helpful. When I first saw the cookies I thought the tracks would be useful in some way as in Hansel & Gretel.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing -- and I'm glad someone got the hansel and gretel nod :P

So fun to play. I like game mechanic and visual, it's cute and fit to the game.

Awesome!

A Cute and Cozy game. Love the art style and the ending with the vacuum. However a few extra sound effects would have been cool. But nevertheless a pretty good game for a game jam. Keep up the good work.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I totally agree, I need more SFX lol. And thanks a TON for the words of encouragement. I'll do my best again next time!

Cute game! I like the vacuum at the end as a nod to the joke at the start, nice graphics and great job for your first game jam you've done well especially without any help! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and I'm so happy to hear you caught the nod to the joke at the start! :D

This is a simple little game, nothing too crazy or tense. It has cute graphics and a vibe, I am enjoying myself with this game! It's good to step away from those tensions and frustrations from time to time and relax a bit, and this game is perfect for it. The game design is simple, but I do like how you used cookie crumbs to mark where you've been. That really reduces quite some backtracking and guesswork I normally have with all maze games. I do hope it would take too long to vacuum up all of these crumbs though XD

For a criticism, I say the game really needs some more mechanics. It's like how you utilise the machete for removing grass, you could probably do more with each collectable you've found during the level, like adding special actions that only that item can provide.

Anyway, this is a nice entry indeed. Kep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for taking the time to give such thoughtful feedback! I completely agree with the addition of mechanics  esp for the collectibles, and I very much appreciate your kind words of encouragement :) I'll take them with me for the next time!

Great idea!!! really like the artstyle, i did miss maybe more sound desing, but being just one person in the project, quite impressive! well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback re: sound design! I agree it could have used a lot more work :)

The cookie train was such a nice touch, I hope vacuuming won't take too long!
Such a well put together game for a first game. The art was very nice, ran into no bugs. Bravo!

Thank you for playing!

Nice music. Simple yet effective and neat art. I like the idea of cookie crumbles. Nicely tied with the theme. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

Cute little game with nice vibes, the breadcrumbs thingy is really nice too to know where I've been. I just wish there was more going on between all the cutting.

Very nice game with nice graphic,I Like that.(RATED)

Thank you for playing!

Love the idea of the cookie trail and this has such a cute artstyle

I managed to beat almost the entire maze without the pruner actually. When you ran into the bottom of the leaves just right it would destroy them (I'm assuming its a collider/mask issue)

Overall it was a fun game to play!

Developer

Ha! I love that you found that -- I had no idea and went and tried it myself; sure enough! I'm still getting the hang of the collider/mask things (not sure I totally understand it, tbh) , so thanks so much for bringing this to my attention and of course, Thank you so much for playing!

Very nice game, specially for a first jam!

Really liked the art. The sword movement was nice, I could hit those weeds many times and it was satisfying. :P

The crumb trail is a good element to let you know where you have already explored (without using the obscuring of the sections), I noticed quite early that the cookies are not consumed if you walk over a place where crumbs exists,

The amount of cookies is more than enough to explore the whole labyrinth, which I think is intentional, but for me it meant I didn't not really have to make any decision of whether to explore a section or not, which can arguably be a good thing, depending on what you are going for.

Anyways, good stuff!

Developer

Thank so much for playing and for the detailed feedback! It's always great to hear what's working well alongside what isn't :)
