How does the game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme due to the mechanical chaos and randomness placed in the game (this would be through the Events system and random Items). The game also gets more chaotic as you progress.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I used Bosca Ceoil: The Blue Album for music and SFXR in LMMS for sound effects. I used Aseprite for my art assets. I used a font taken from Google Fonts as well.

A fun and addictive game! I love the soundtrack!!
Happy you enjoyed it!
This game is so fun! The changing rules each wave keep things unpredictable and addictive. I really liked the bullet upgrade options—you can create some crazy combos. Awesome job!
Really glad you enjoyed the mechanical systems of the game - I think the changing events each wave were my interpretation of the theme so I'm really happy that that was one of the highlights of the game for you. Thanks for the comment and for playing the game!
Cool game and good work making the sprites yourself, some interesting perks to choose there, it would be nice maybe a time between waves to reposition and a healthbar to enemies so its easier to to move around
Definitely think I scaled the spawn rate too high as the game continues in hindsight, so i can totally agree it can be difficult to move around. I think the thing with the health bars is kind of subjective, but I get where you're coming from and why it might be useful. Thanks for the feedback and for playing the game!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for playing!
Damn, it took me a while to get through the first wave, super fun game well done :)
Thanks, glad you liked it :D
A fun survivor style game with a unique twist : The stage changes every now and then. The gameplay is simple but very addicting and engaging, this game has a very impressive upgrade systems, offering unique abilities that synergize with one another.
Amazing work!
Thanks so much, I'm really happy you enjoyed it, especially the upgrades and events!
Great upgrades system, though when I picked up exploding bullets the firerate went crazy up.
Also, I would have preferred if the camera was a bit more zoomed out, so that I could see more of the level.
Thanks for playing and the feedback and I totally agree with the camera, that was one thought that popped up while I was developing the game but unfortunately I never implemented it. That bug you mentioned was interesting about the firerate going up, never a bug I encountered during development or playtesting, though thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Great job man! I love your game mechanics
Thanks, that means a lot considering this was my first attempt at making a game in this genre!
I really like this type of game so I played for quite a while. It was fun but I had to turn down my sound by a lot because the very high volume combined with lots of rapid high tones assaulted my ears. The upgrade system is cool, it just needed some more enemy variety and an overhaul on the visuals and sound.
Hey, thanks for the comment, good to hear that you enjoyed the gameplay :) I think what you mentioned with the sound was totally understandable, it was my first time creating music from scratch and I definitely could've done with adjusting the volume. Thanks for playing!
Nice job making me feel powerful. I like ridiculously juicy upgrades. Great job.
Thank you for your comment. I'm very happy you enjoyed the game and liked the feel of it, as I think game feel is one of the most important parts of having a good game!
Good job - feels pretty fun! But you probably took a wrong theme cause the 'nothing can go wrong' theme was voted over 'mechanical chaos'
Yeah I think that it could be argued that it fits the "Mechanical Mayhem" theme more than "Nothing can go wrong" - however I would also say that I think that I used the idea of the game being chaotic as a vehicle to explore the theme of Nothing Can Go Wrong as chaos inherently leads to opportunities for things to go wrong. Bit convoluted so I can understand if it doesn't seem like it fits the theme, nevertheless thanks for the comment and I'm happy you enjoyed the game!
Super fun!! Made it pretty far like wave 20 something, really cool little wave shooter :)
Thanks for the comment and congrats - Wave 20+ is really far!
Very fun made to wave 10! Wish the music track was longer seemed like the same 20-30 second music clip played on loop.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah this my first game jam where I made music from scratch so I can understand if it wasn't the best in the world!
No way it was my first too! It was good just needs to be longer. Generally, I think 3-5min song is good length!
Good game! I died so many times before getting to wave 2. I would not spawn big ones first wave as my 5 first playthrough I had 2 at the same time first wave and I don't know how to survive this !
Yeah, I'm surprised to hear that! Sounds like you might have gotten unlucky, but I do agree that I could've done a better job of scaling the difficulty. Thanks for playing the game!
It's ok as it is very difficult to scale the game difficulty on a 14 days time frame. Did you try our game ? Balancing was kind of : we do random stuff and adjust a bit so you can play 5 minutes ^^
Love these types of games. Super simple and fun. I do feel like the arena could have been bigger though. After the first few waves you end up pinned in place since the enemies fill up the arena and you can't move through them. Made it to wave 13 through the healing upgrade before it crashed on me.
Yeah, I agree! At one point I had the arena even smaller, so I definitely think at one point I thought "I need to make the arena bigger". I do think, especially towards the end of these sorts of games you do kind of end up pinned in place, but I think wave 13 definitely seems earlier than I intended. As for the crash, I don't think I did a great job of optimising performance (especially because of my spaghetti code) but I also think these games also have a natural stopping point (albeit not a crash haha). Thanks for the detailed feedback!
Simple but addictive! Well done, it's a very effective gameplay loop!
I'm glad that the gameplay loop was a positive experience for you, I spent a lot of time planning it! Thanks for playing!
Realy Liked The Pace, I wish There Was a Setting For Adjusting Volume But Overall this Game Definitely has Potential. GoodLuck
Thanks!
Difficulty ramps up quick! But i love survivors like games. Impressive you got those systems developed in a week! Great job.
Thanks! I appreciate that as this was my first time developing a game in this genre :)
The game was kind of fun, I made it to wave 12.
Glad you liked it!
Nice top down shooter! I don’t know if I just got quite lucky with the power ups I got, but the game seemed like it got easy quite quickly, so it may be worth upping the difficulty a little and rebalancing the power ups.
Thanks for the comment and for playing the game. I definitely agree with the fact there were some issues with the difficulty scaling system, and I'd say that if I were to do one thing differently it would be that, but I also thought that if the difficulty was going to lean towards being too easy or too difficult it would be better for it to be the former as it would still remain accessible and fun without being frustrating. Good to hear that you liked it.
Yeah definitely agree, always better to make something a bit too easy so people can experience it and rate rather than so hard they give up. Good luck with your future projects!
