How does the game fit the theme?
The game fits the theme "Nothing Can Go Wrong" by placing the player in a factory where they must ensure every Daruma Doll meets strict and ever-changing quality standards. While the goal is to prevent mistakes, the shifting rules make errors unavoidable
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Just the BGM, which I have permission to use.

The factory should really rethink their production strategy, this is producing too much waste! Jokes aside, This is quite an interesting little game! The whole idea is super simple but somehow being quite fun. The Daruma Dolls are very cute, and I am not too willing to break so many of them, but hey that's what the job says.
For some suggestions, I'd sat the belt moves too quickly, and it really doesn't leave much time for the player to properly check against the requirement, especially when the game decides to suddenly change that, and we have to re-learn the newer pattern. If you ask me, I'd probably lower the initial speed quite a lot, just to ease the player a bit during the early game. This leads to my second point, which is to add a failure state. It's funny cause theoretically, you can just never lose if you never do anything, which sort of defeats the whole purpose gameplay-wise and story-wise. I would probably change it in a way such that you have a limited number of lives, and each time a wrong Daruma Doll escapes, you lose a life. This would really pair well with a much slower initial speed.
Anyway, this is a fun game! Well done!
The design is really nice! I love the retro feel of the game with the clean design of the capsule art and page. Really cool game!
I enjoyed so much that there was no timer. Excellent piece. I got better and better after few tries!
Really fun game! It was cool to see how I was improving in my visual distinguishing skills as time went on. Didn't really understand the controls at the beginning, but that's okay.
Good work with the sound cues, and with the game in general!
This is fun and challenging, and I love the visual style a lot. Reminds me of “Papers, Please” in all the best ways.
Nice entry! I appreciate to see pico 8 games here, amazing that you could make that in pico 8. Very good presentation and idea.
To add some feedback, it was not clear at the beginning if one has to break the dolls which show one of these eyebrows/mouths or only let pass them.
I really loved the art and presentation in this game. The game is quite challenging if you try to keep up with the belt speed. Really nice concept, would really like to see how you develop this in the future!
Also, I imagine developing with the constraints of PICO-8 might have been hard, but also probably very satisfying, am I right? I really need to try this thing out as well some day.
Thank you! Yes, pico-8 is tough but very rewarding. The freedom and control you get are really good. I gave up on Unity after the controversy and picked Godot, but because I loved Lua with pico-8, I'm thinking of going with Love 2d as it uses Lua.
You should give PICO-8 a shot! There's an education version which is free I think.
I'll never be able to afford a daruma of my own with these standards! loved the visuals & sound :)
Really polished and fun game, congrats!! It was more challenging than I expected, and ended up spending quite some time on it :)
fun little game ! i like the minimalist aspect of the visuals, impressive work for pico8
The itch page is super creative and really pulls you in right away. The visuals and audio are solid and complement the game well. It’s seriously impressive to see a Piko 8 game done in a jam—huge props for that! The only thing that threw me off was the tutorial being on the itch page instead of in the game. Having it inside would make things smoother for players, but I understand it would be hard to add.
Overall, really great job! 8.5/10 :D
Super fun and any game that has you evaluating round objects on a conveyor belt has to be great :)
Well, I got fired... twice... before I realised what is expected from me :) Then I got fired several more times, for not noticing the details. Then I got fired some more, for not noticing on time that the requirements change :D
Definitely fun to play, reasonably paced, well balanced difficulty, given the constraints.
Actually funny, a lot harder that I tought it would be!
I think that would be great to let you know when the rule changes
Really fun concept with really good juicy execution.. cracking the daruma dolls was fun everytime.. and i kept playing again and again just for that haha!
