How does the game fit the theme?
We interpreted the theme as "expectation meets unforeseen outcome", which is a problem regulations and subsidies often encounter: an obvious and straightforward fix, leading to unwanted outcomes, which leads to more fixes to amend the previous fix, and so on and so on...
We decided to turn that into our game loop, and made a game about regulations, subsidies, and a company that trys to maximize its profit. The game is constantly manufacturing more rules, thinking "this will do it, nothing can go wrong now", while the players constantly finding new and creative ways to exploit those very same rules.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Sfx from freesound.org

Wow, this game is so much fun! The gameplay loop is excellent and feels really fresh. The art quality is absolutely top-tier—like a AAA title! Could you share how you created such high-quality art in just a week? For example, the tools you used or the experience you’ve built up? If you could share your process in a blog or vlog, I think it’d be super helpful for fellow developers!

This is a very interesting concept! I like this very much. It's so unethical but so fun trying to maximise profit and just putting whatever fits on the packaging! The graphic is super nice, and I can't believe you made different logos and decos for each product! Seems like a lot of work in the one-week span! Well done! I don't know if it's a bug, but it's such a shame that the game doesn't have more content after the beer. I want more!

For some criticism, I'd say I am not a fan of the snapping, which, although handy, feels like it limits a lot of where I could place the stickers. It kind of sucking the fun a bit out of the game if I am honest. I would also strongly add some background music as the game feels awkwardly silent at times.

Anyway, as a fellow jamer who also makes an unethical business game, I am very happy to see this game being made, and it is very greatly made too! Well done!

Great game! Interesting concept, it was nice to try different combinations to increase profit!

Good visuals and an interesting game.

Love the aesthetic!

I personally like the snapping to a position - its a bit restrictive but if you can get it to work for you then its great! The transitions were well done and the interface felt pretty clean. I liked the visual arrangements possible. Good job.

As for constructive feedback, perhaps the font sizing could be improved and it was funny seeing the bar for money shoot out of the border of the table.

Developer

Thank you! Improve the snapping is top on our priority list. Ideally we want it to be something that makes it more convenient to place things, rather than being unreliable and gets in the way.  At its current state it certainly needs some fixing. We'll be testing more ui arrangements as well. Appreciate the feedback!

Very fun!

Developer

Thank you!

Visually, it's incredibly sleek and stylish, perfectly complementing the game's concept and gimmick.

The gameplay is also great!

At the moment, the font size seems a bit small, and if you could address the inconsistent UI's readability&intuitiveness , it would be much better game!

Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Yes I agree, judging from the feedbacks we've got so far, the ui could certainly benefit from some rework. Hopefully we can come up with a cleaver solution that fits the visual style and readability!

That's a really cool and innovative game, I really enjoyed playing it ! I maybe a little music in the background could be nice. But otherwise I have nothing to say except that you did a really great job ! :)

Developer

Thank you! If we further develop it we will add some music for sure. :D

The gameplay is super innovative and relevant, and I love the label printing, very satisfying.

On another level, the objective is pretty abstract and confusing. I wasn't really sure how to do better without just brute force printing different combinations until it worked. Also didn't understand why we had two sets of packaging (although I assumed it could be back and front)? Perhaps if the contract and packaging were side-by-side so you could more easily compare instructions to your output, or something?

Either way, love the message, mechanics and art style!

Developer

Yeah, we found a lot we can improve. The tutorial we have now is vague and the feedback is not clear and direct, as you said. Thank you for giving our game a try and glad you like it!

Really cool game! The visuals are consistently stylish and fitting throughout the game. Interesting and innovative gameplay with a strong message. After making the label for the beer can the game wouldn't let me proceed to the next level, is that the end or did I encounter a bug/misunderstand something?
One thing I would've liked is a preview of the "slots" where I was about to drop a label. There were many times when I thought that I put a label in a valid position, only to have it be thrown back to the printer.

Overall a very good job. I think this game could be really successful.

Developer

Yes, the beer is the last level we now have. Sorry for the misleading. We are now working on the drag and leave function and improving other mechanics. Anyway, thank you for the positive response!

The visual presentation of this game is unmatched. I find this theme so interesting with the meta commentary about choosing between profit, regulations, subsidies. Definitely my favourite game I played so far!

Developer

Thank you! We think the topic fits the theme well and it's very fun to make it a game. Glad you enjoyed it!

The concept of making more money from Subsidies than you do on the product itself is hilarious to me, great commentary for such a chill game.

Developer

That's what we intended to do! Thank you for playing our game!

Visual and free of move is impressive giving a fantastic feeling

Please continue making more levels and put this on steam! I'd love to play this on a regular basis this is so chill. One of my favourites so far. Very good game!

Developer

Haha we would like to make it further if people like it. Thank you for playing our game!

This is great! Love the chill vibes, didn't think it could be so fun to put stickers on things! The snapping was a bit annoying but I still enjoyed it

Developer

Thank you! We are planning to fix the snapping If we keep developing this game.
Glad you like it!

My fave game of the jam so far! I really got into the package design. Loved trying to find all the loopholes and other silly stuff I could do to make the packaging look stupid, haha.

I think maybe a tutorial level would be really handy, as well as a clearer display of profits etc! I had to trial and error work it out.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and giving  it a try! We understand the tutorial we now have is imperfect and we plan to fix it.
By the way we love the stickers we made too lol
