Youve truly captured the horror we all feel during crunch time,
Glad we got that point across.
Thanks, that was the goal!
I really love the story setting of the game; it's a bit meta. All gamers will find it relatable since we’re all chased by deadlines.
However, it is difficult for me to play because the environment is too dark. It's hard to see...
Thank you for the kind words, I do apologize about the brightness. Did you try to turn the lights on? All of the light switches work, and perhaps that'll make the experience better for you. We have heard from some that is too dark and in my experience sometimes it's just different makes of monitors which we didn't account for. I have dual monitors and on one it's fine and the other I can't see certain things. We'll pay more attention to it in the future.
Okay, I must have missed the light switch! I'll try it later since the story is sooo interesting. Thank you for telling me.
I played on a laptop, so maybe that caused the problem.
Maybe? I think it's darkest on LCDs. As well if your laptop has post processing settings (mine does and was making it too dark, mine uses Armoury Crate) that could also do it, but the light switches should help. Let me know what you think if you play again!
Thanks for giving it another shot! Also we recommend using the download version, its got more easter eggs and better shaders
Is there a way to skip the starting texts? I died and wanted to retry to see other outcomes but I had to go through the text screen every time.
The game is good, it's scary and funny at the same time.
No way currently to skip the text, I share the same sentiment. If we create more episodes it'll certainly be a feature. Sorry about that, but thank you for playing!
I hate horror games. I screamed and got spooped a bunch. Good horror game, fantastic entry. 11/10 would torture myself again. (ps. I love meta games that reference the jam).
I thought I might have been the only other person that uses the word Spoopy lol. Thank you for the kind words. We thought using the jam might help connect it to the players and heighten the scary parts.
I'm watching y'alls group play through, looks like y'all have a great team and had fun playing it! That was a great joy.
Just finished watching your group play! So fun! Definitely will be checking out the stream in the future!
No worries I'll be on again tomorrow morning, 10am (GMT+10 - Aussie QLD Time), playing more entries. I just really love the part of game jams that is playing and giving feedback, especially if the dev is in stream we can chat about the game more directly. I really enjoy connecting with people and their games :P.
First off, the intro hits close to home, can't deny that.
Then the scary lady from the television got me, I almost jumped in my chair.
Next time I decided to pay attention to the TV as the hint showed me, and I did not imagine watching Brackeys backwards would be so unsettling.
Great atmosphere and amazing game design, all those little scary titbits are very well crafted and seem to have a very precise intent.
You're the first person to mention reverse Brackeys. I would agree on the unsettlingness haha. Spooky lady though... I don't know who that is... Haha thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!
spooky
Thanks for playing!
reminded me of fears to fathom (in a good way) but with abit more humor, i loved the atmosphere and amazing sound design. would love to see more episodes!
Did the scariness hold up for you? We were definitely inspired by FtF, but want to start branching ourselves off. Humor might be the way to go about that.
imo it held up to the same scaryness, mebe slightly less cause of the humor but that was to the games benifit
Also thank you for playing. I come from film so I certainly value good sound.
Watching ya'lls group play through, what a great team ya'll have great dynamic
Pretty dark but cool game and I like the style!
Make sure to turn on the lights! But yeah, on some monitors it can be too dark. We'll have to consider that next time.
Thanks for playing! Adding yours to my play later collection.
The atmosphere is really cool! I think the game is too dark tho, barely could see. The concept of writing the game jam was very cool.
Sorry about it being too dark. All of the light switches in game do work though! We've heard that's it's too dark on some monitors and fine on others. We'll try and take that into account in the future. Thanks for playing!
This was a really good game but I couldn't turn the damn TV off. So I didn't reach the end. That made me mad. Also, my light switches weren't working. Clearly I didn't pay the electrical bills.
Hmm... What version did you play? First I ever heard of that. The remote wasn't working? Sorry about that!
thanks for playing! The tv player doesn’t work well on webgl. You can indeed turn off the tv on the downloadable version but it shouldn’t be a hindrance to the story progression! Thanks for playing though!
The overall atmosphere is really adding up to the scary factor! All the jumpscare is really shook me lol
The only problem I have is on menu UI and cursor being unlocked when I see around
Really great horror game!
First of all, thanks for playing! What version did you play? Thanks for the compliments on atmosphere. We certainly focused on trying to nail that down.
The browser one, I guess it's better to play the downloadable ones?
yes! Downloadable is the preferred way to play! More Easter eggs via the tv and better shaders! Either way thanks for playing!
This one hits close to home lol. One thing I didnt like was the code I wrote during the game. If x is false, elseif x is true should just be an else :P
jokes aside, awesome work!
Hahaha, sounds like you got the Game Jam experience!
Thanks for playing, and you reminded me to check out your game, I saw the thumbnail earlier and it peaked my interest immediately.
cool concept
Thanks for playing!
Awesome game dude !
Thanks for playing!
That's awesome, it makes me feel scared!
Thanks for playing!
Cant wait to submit my game! surely nothing will go wrong... Awesome visuals my dudes! Rate and comment on my game if you get the chance! <3
Firstly thanks for playing! I will once I'm online.
thanks for playing! I did rate and play last night! Great game!
Cool game ! Got jumpscared a lot but that was a great idea !
Thanks for playing! That's good to know. It can be hard to tell if scares will work when you know they're going to happen as the developer. So it's great to hear that they do!
Awesome game!
Thanks for playing!
Super high production values. Well done!
Thanks for playing! That's a great compliment!
Quintessential Game Jam game! Solid work ma dudes
Thanks man! Much appreciated!
That's a solid statement! Thanks for playing!
