Thanks for playing and thanks for the compliments! Was my first try at this artstyle, and I think we managed to do it pretty well.

Developer

Thank you! Means a lot. Our artist Ed killed it!

Submitted(+2)

yoo!! that is scary! I love the style of the game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The one thing about developing a scary game is some times you get yourself on accident haha. Thanks for playing!

Thank you! Appreciate you playing!

Very enjoyable game, it made me chuckle a bit, and the art style was very good. I'm looking forward to see what you guys have in store for the rest of the episodes. Great job!

I'm glad it did a bit of both haha. Hopefully we'll get more episodes done in a timely manner. Thanks for player, and for the review!

Cool Game! That pixel art coloring mechanic or listening to clips was cool!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, though as an artist that pixel task was so daunting. Haha, thanks for playing. Be sure to rate if you haven't!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, I rated! I hope I'll see more chapters!

Developer

So do we haha.

Developer

I'll be sure to check your game out in a bit. The comments seem really good!

Developer

Thanks haha! Pixel art mechanic gets tedious!

The scariest thing is how much this  game resembles the way my team felt crunching to finish our entry.  Good job, nice jumpscares and lovely aesthetic!

Developer(+1)

Haha I agree with that! Glad it was able to hit home a little. Thanks for playing!

Developer(+1)

😂 Thanks for playing ahahaha

Developer(+1)

I'm on my phone atm but just seeing the name of your game makes me want to play it lol

Submitted

Make sure to check it out later, we used artstyle similar to your game

Developer

I will certainly do so, currently nursing a sick boy at the moment. It's awesome to see your supporting your child!

This is a neat horror game I just don't really get how this fits the theme

Developer

There is a linear progression line you must take or else you die. We made it pretty easy to win, but if you don't follow it. You die hence the "Nothing can go wrong" while also, you're trying to submit your game so you cannot afford for anything to go wrong. Which causes the player to make some pretty unrealistic decisions considering the situation they find themselves in. That being said, thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Ohhh I get it thanks! Really cool!

Developer

Glad you liked the game! The theme was ambigous so we went with the plot "You have to make your game in time for the submission, nothing can go wrong, or you lose". Either way, really appreciate you taking the time to play it!

The art style is really dope💯 the game experience is really fun

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it. I'd certainly love to give your game another go if you decide to refine it a bit. As I mentioned, that helicopter sound is something I could fall asleep to haha.

Developer

Much appreciated!

Hello, I like this art style, is a good game! and i got afraid a little bit and sometimes I laughed (a nice game otherwise)

Developer(+2)

I'm glad the mixture came through. We wanted to make you either pee your pants laughing or crying. Either way thanks for the feedback!

Developer

Sounds like you had the intended experience! Thanks so much for playing!

Submitted(+2)

love it

Developer

Thank you. I actually really enjoyed your game too! How'd you do the shader?

Submitted(+1)

just a simple godot shader

Submitted(+2)

I'm a sucker for this art style and sfx! I think I might have accidently skipped the game though, I went and flipped the breaker right away and then just submitted and won. Wish my game jam dev was that easy lmao

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

DOH! Mentioned that bug in a session and I guess we overlooked it. Congrats you're a pro gamer. Thanks for the feedback on the art style. Was my first time trying it out! We call it PS1.5 haha

Developer(+2)

Noo, i left the collider on! Haha well good job exploring!

There is so much going on. It’s pretty impressive to see how much you were able to get into the game in such a short time. And the meta of it being themed around a game jam makes the whole think so funny and so relatable. Great work!

Developer

Appreciate the feedback! We certainly worked tirelessly. Was rough dealing with some sick kids in the process too.

Developer

Thank you! It's much appreciated!

(+2)

very good !

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Developer

really nice game. The implementation of theme was spot on

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We were hoping we could drive the theme home.

Developer

much appreciated!

Great game! I cant believe I did not think about doing a horror game makes a lot of sense lol.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Was somewhat our first outing with the genre. Thanks for playing!

Developer

lol thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+3)

I love this ps1 style and the horror feeling of your game, great job!

Developer(+2)

Thanks, I know it's pretty common these days, but we thought it'd be fun to try

Developer(+1)

thank you! We wanted to excitement with the style

Submitted(+3)

Wow! In general, I really enjoy horror games of the same style (first person, everyday situations), and this one is no exception. The game is very engaging, and the atmosphere truly creates a sense of fear. The only downside is that jumpscares aren't very frightening—they feel a bit weak. However, overall, the game is fantastic—definitely one of my favorites!

Developer(+2)

Appreciate the feedback! We've heard quite a bit about the jump scares not being very scary. It's our first real plunge into the genre so a lot of time was spent designing core systems. Hopefully we'll nail it better in the future. Thanks for playing!

Developer(+1)

really appreciate the feedback! We are tuning the jump scares to be a little more intense

Submitted(+3)

First, why the game name is George on the exe like ?

Now let's place to the review :

👍 First of all, I love the style—the models are great! That house really scared me. I also love the game mechanics, the coding, and the ability to throw objects.

👍 Secondly, regarding the jumpscares, they’re fine, but I won’t lie—maybe adding more sound effects, especially when the jumpscare happens, could improve them. For example, in the first jumpscare, when someone knocks on the door, you open it, and he kill you—maybe it would be more effective if the killer was behind you instead. Having them right behind the door feels a bit too predictable.

👍 Thirdly, at first, I was going to suggest adding a save system so players could reload their progress after quitting. But now that I think about it, that would be a lot of work for a small feature.

I reread my review and realized I didn’t say this explicitly, but—this is a great game ! Sometimes I forget to mention it, but I really want a sequel. I see that there are just two of you working on this project, and I wish you both the best for your game !

Developer(+3)

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are still crunching on ramping up the scares. Hopefully the final version for the jam will fulfill on your wishes. The save system would certainly be a nice to have and might be visited in the future. Thanks for commenting on the models, I enjoyed trying to find creative ways to make stuff look old. This was a test of our horror game system, while being a bit more comedic. We're just two Dads trying to push out games while juggling everything else in life. Glad you enjoyed it!

Developer(+2)

I really appreciate the feedback! I like the idea to have the jumpscare happen behind you when open the door! Might try to squeeze that in before the jam deadline. Either way THANKS SO MUCH for playing and the feedback
