How does your game fit the theme?
The game is peaceful, just like a standard city builder, up until it all is over.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Programming & Design were done entirely by me, Sounds & Visual assets were used from outside sources, check the credits for more information.

This is fun to play! I'm not that familiar with city builders but this one seems to be pretty good. I got the hang of it easily enough. Kinda makes me want to try out the genre a bit more. Good job!

When I got self-sufficient, it was very easy to build :D I got 4256 people and with my optimized building layout, I think I could easily cover the whole area and have maximum amount of people :D This was very fun to tryhard and maximize the outcome :D

Good lord XD. I figured out a half decent optimized method when testing, but it only got me to around 2500, so that's an insane number to hear! Glad you enjoyed playing!

I can tell a lot of love went into making this. Great game! :D

Developer

Thank you!

It was a little slow. I accidentally pressed the pause button because I thought it was a road icon. lol

Developer

Good to know, I'll keep that in mind for next time. Thanks for your feedback!

fun little game. I'd like to see if someone can make a city that covers the entire playable space. as others have said it was a little slow in the middle but I'm glad I stayed around until the end because that was super cool.

not sure if anyone has mentioned yet but I found that when clicking the UI buttons I would sometimes miss and place buildings behind them. might be a skill issue on my part but worth noting either way.

Developer

Hey there, thanks for letting me know about the UI issue! I haven't seen anything else on that yet, and will look into it for future projects, I doubt it's a skill issue though!

Great entry! I will join the others about it being a bit too slow and I would like destroy button not be another menu :( Maybe you will consider making some kind of ruins out of the city instead of blowing it up?

Good luck!

Developer(+1)

Hey there, thanks for the feedback, Making destroy a different control such as a right click action is something I will take into account for later. As for the ruins suggestion, I just thought blowing things up would be a funny way to end things without too much work, given this was put together in a week. If I do come back to this project at any time, I'll remember that idea though!

It was a very chill game to play. I like building game and found this entertaining. It would be nice if you could add something related to the destruction of the planet. For example the more you build and consume the resources of the planet the quicker it falls apart. Great job for the submission

Hee-ho. Very meditation game. Nice. Thanks for good experience

A nice and relaxing city builder, though it could benefit from a way to speed up time. The pace felt slow, and adding a fast-forward option would greatly improve the experience. The visuals and music were great, and the mechanics were satisfying, especially placing roads. Overall, a chill and enjoyable game with room for a bit more polish.

A really neat tycoon game but the only real constructive feedback I can give is to add some sort of way to fast forward to speed thing up because the game is way too slow.

How did you playtest this?

Developer

I had a few people run through it to test balance, however in all fairness, they were not trying to get through the whole list of games in the jam, so they had more time to spare for this. The game was balance tested a few times to keep it from progressing too fast, however I didn't consider game length for people who may not want to stick around for that long, which I'm now seeing quite a bit!

Thanks for the feedback, I will be taking this into account more for future game projects!

Music was great and the art was good but it's really slow needs a fast forward

Submitted

A really chill game, although the game might need some sort of fast-forward system because I couldn't see where and when the storms came into view.

Nice chill vibes. I did get a bit bored waiting for the end of the game to come but aside from that it was a great time playing!

controls were great, graphics clean, audio was perfect for the game :)

Cheers

The art style together with the music made for quite a calm and pleasant experience, to be honest after about 10 days I ran out of things to do and just started drawing and writing things using the buildings 😁

I feel like it would make for an even better game if you decided to add some gameplay during the "storm" part.

chill and fun!

Really nice game! Building my city was super relaxing and the music was very nice. And then it blew up :( Very good work!

I like the building system, and how you can eventually branch a lot when you have enough cash! Although as others have said, I feel like the time you have is too much.

A little description on what the shop and what the house do would have been nice when starting, but that is just a little nitpick :]

Music was really groovy,  sound effects would go a long way (when clicking buttons and placing buildings). Really fun visual town-builder, I love that it cozifies city-building, if you continue this game, I would love to see some more building options! If these are 3D assets, it would be really cool to rotate the camera. Would love something to do while generating money but overall great job, this was really cool!

Loved the chill
