Ranked from 30 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
During the "calm," plant trees and grow your grove before the storm. During the "storm," watch those trees fend off lumberjacks before a literal rain-storm passes, striking your trees with lightening. Each round is its own "calm" before its own "storm"

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes! We made all the assets, models, shaders, code, music, animations ourselves (the two of us). The only exception are a few sound effects (the trees falling for example).

Got a strange popup and errors in console including:

"An abnormal situation has occurred: the PlayerLoop internal function has been called recursively. Please contact Customer Support with a sample project so that we can reproduce the problem and troubleshoot it."

However reloading the page worked, so it was just a one-off error I guess.

The gameplay felt relaxing, mechanics worked well and the art style looks really good on this. The music complements the game really nicely.

To improve it, there are a few bugs to consider fixing such as that the number of seeds display that you have just goes away starting with Round 2. Other than things like that though, nice job on this game!

Cozy music and cute art.. Just a game to play on a rainy day. Was just chilling the whole time.

My suggestions would be to have a tree outline appear on screen when I am going to place the tree along with the range.. Would be very helpful as I was confused initially. Just a small feedback.

Kudos!!

Great game! It's original to see a tower defense like that. I just have to say that maybe there was a bug, strating from the second wave all the texts disappeared!

This was excellent! Love all the little touches, like how the camera starts rotating after a while during a wave. The visuals, audio and gameplay are all great. Couple of nit-picky things:

1. Not have to click "+" and "Grow" to open up the tree panel, just one click should be enough.

2. I'd like to see the range of my trees either when I hover on them or click on them, particularly after I've upgraded their range so I'd know how effective the upgrade was.

Such a cute and cozy game! Sat through the whole experience. All the aesthetics are on point and feel polished. Nice work!

My only nitpicking is that pine trees are too OP imo - I found myself only stacking pines brainlessly and beating the levels. Trees that stick out and don't stick with the other trees tend to be more vulnerable. Maybe pines should take more space or have a irregular shape so the player has to be more strategic.

So cozy and fun. I did face a glitch tho where all the text just stopped showing for some reason. Still managed to play it through.

The visuals and music and the ambient sounds go so well together.

Well done! This is a real good game

I had a lot of fun! The relaxing atmosphere of the game was great. I enjoyed how the trees fended off the lumberjacks with their nuts and how the rain that followed provided a sense of relief.

This was sooo goood!! I love these relaxing games and yours has such a nice vibe. It is such a cool and unique idea for tower defense game. The upgrades are great, I like that you can choose different playstyles. Music is very soothing and pleasant. Did you get inspired by Dorfromantik and Townscaper? I think those games are very similar to this one. You should definitely work more on it, add more enemies maybe, more trees/other stuff, more upgrades etc. This needs to be a full game! Good job! :)

Super late reply but yes I love those games!!! I've always wanted to try and make something with a similar vibe :)

Great art! really relaxing playing it

Good visuals & music
I really like the idea of growing a big forest that basically turns into a fortress, a shame each level removes previously planted trees
Also if you fullscreen the game all text disappears, if I remember correctly that's a TextMeshPro issue we had on previous jam as well, typical Unity :(

Despite that I kept playing lol

Developer(+1)

Really appreciate the feedback, I'll definitely implement bigger forests after the jam! I didn't even know that was a TextMeshPro issue so you've helped me get one step closer, thank you!!!

Really nice job, the art and audio was amazing; A couple suggestions would be to add a variety of attackers, since with just the lumberjacks it gets a bit stale(Maybe they could bring new equipment), and also making it so hovering over a tree highlights it and shows it’s range, because I felt it was a little hard to know what tree I was selecting, and (I don’t think) theres I way to see the trees range after you place it. Otherwise, it was very fun, and the vibe is immaculate

Woah I love the vibes in this!! <3
