Cool music lol, polish could really push this game to the next level, but its understandable as a game jam game. Great work still!

The music is fantastic—I actually paused at the menu just to enjoy it before starting the game. Initially, I had a really positive impression, but then the combat transitioned into something that felt turn-based, though not exactly. Unfortunately, that style of grid-based, tabletop-like combat simulation isn’t for me, and I lost interest at that point. To top it off, I got stuck between a rock and a tree, which ended my experience. Sorry about that. But don’t let my comment discourage you, because the reason I did not like your game comes down to personal preference.

Thank you for playing! And for the screenshot, 'cause I couldn't understand where people got stuck, now I get it. It's ok to not like mechanics, I appreciate you gave it a try)

I got stuck in the exact same place lol

Very unique game, nice switch from classical heroes like knights, wizards or soldiers to bugs. Good job.

It's a really interesting setting, using insects and flowers in combat, though got some errors, I still enjoy playing. More instruction can help, the skill icon is easy to get, but still cannot fully understand, especially for combat gameplay. overall good job

Developer

Thank you for the kind words. We'll improve UI to add more details and we'll fix the crash after the jam.

I just loved the hand drawn art! It is not my type of game but still had fun playing it. Really good!

Wow this is insanely georgeus, love the visuals. Sadly I had a lot of bugs in the webbuild but i think thats just casual webbuild things.

Great job, would love to hear your opinion about our game Meathook Massacre :)

Loved the hand-done art and I'm a sucker for tactics games. Very original interpretation of the theme!

Loved the game, got an error that stopped my progress, but still enjoyed the fighting and the collecting food and partners.

Really dig the style of the visuals, very unique! The music is quite atmospheric and fits in with the game and for the very limited amount of sound effects the game has, they do the job well.

The gameplay is quite unique, with having to collect resources and return to an insect in order to recruit it while being careful to not move around too much as it leaves you with a smaller window for recruiting. However, it seems the game is a lot more difficult when you select the bee as your starter insect as opposed to the butterfly, possibly due to the bee attracting more 'attention', which limits the amount of recruiting you can do before a fight.

Also, does the crash after the 2nd big fight indicate the end of the game?

Regardless, solid game 👍

Developer

Thank you so much! The crash happens on death, yes, sorry for spoiled experience, we'll fix everything after the jam. And rework balance too.

Roguelike insect game, cool idea! I managed to recruit 4 other insects for the second fight, but then I got a runtime error after a couple of attacks. The thumbnail is cute.

Loved the art, though the game had some errors that prevented me from continuing

The art and sound effects come together to create a really awesome playing experience

I also loved the gameplay and the collecting resources to find allies mechanics

Developer

Thank you!

I had a blast playing this game. Its a really interesting rpg concept using insects. The battle system felt on point and, although a better tutorial would help, i had fun anyway. The art is also very beautiful. Congratulations.

well done! I really like the theme and the art. I encounterd an error. I think when I died I faced:

RuntimeError: index out of bounds

It only happend one time though.

Developer

Thank you! We'll fix the crash after the jam (it happens on death, yes)

I really liked your game, it's fun and challenging. The hitboxes are a bit weird at times; sometimes you don't know if you can walk over something or not, and once I got stuck. I would love for the attacks to have descriptions of their effects. You have a capture system that's way more entertaining than many triple-A games, haha. The title screen at the beginning of the game is beautiful!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words. And for reporting problems - we'll check hitboxes, sorry for spoiled experience, we didn't manage to polish the game enough.. Also we plan to make many UI improvements after the jam. I'm happy you enjoyed playing the game)

Interesting game. I like the art and I'm sure it could be really fun to develop after the game jam. All I'd recommend at the moment is a volume slider.

Developer

Thank you! We'll add it)
