Really cool idea, lots of fun to play! Well done! The game wouldn't restart for me after game over, had to reload page to play again.

Really cool concept! I just wished you could rotate the blocks.

Nice game, would be great to be able to rotate the blocks.

In case I missed something or got some one-off bugs I have skipped rating this game for now. I may consider to try to play it again if I can. Even with the explanation on itch.io, I tried pressing every button it said and clicking, etc. but nothing works at all, there's nothing happening on the screen. What tips might anyone have? Thanks.

Developer

Hello! Thanks for leaving a comment, you can move with arrow keys and press spacebar to attach to other block, the idea is to form 4x4 areas to score points

Nice idea ! The gameplay feels unique !

Fun game, nice work!

Slightly annoyed by 2x2 tiles being shaded differently due to rotation, very distracting. Othewise - nice game.

Nice work, this is a cool spin on tetris! Some things Id like to see in a full release

  1. Ability to rotate my character, or maybe be able to rotate the pieces somehow coming up. A way to do this would be to assume that your character is (0,0), on an axis, and by swapping the x and y coordinates / negating them you can perform the different rotations
  2. Some option to restart the game, and maybe a pause button
  3. When the timer ran out nothing really happened, at least not that I noticed
  4. Not sure i fully understood how the scoring worked, it turned to weird number symbols and didnt seem to update after that. A leaderboard would be a cool addition for a score based game like this. We implemented one using a service called LootLocker, where you just need an access key and call their api with scores and a name/id

Also nice reference to dont fear the reaper in the music ;)

Hi MrShut! Really appreciate the feedback and glad you noticed the music.

1. I thought about it, the thing it that rotating the whole attached blocks when its too big could be a bit of trouble, but I didnt have time to test it so I will.

2. I've already added a restart, the menues were all bugged on my submission and fixed on the final release, about the pause button, the original tetris doesnt have a pause, that would be kinda " easier" since you can pause to think for a bit and unpause to do the strategy.

3. Indeed I didnt have time to add a final and its just restarts for some reason, now it shows the total score on the ending. The idea was to end the life of the player as falling into a tetris game and completing some rows.

4. Yes, it seems that I added a weird font that its not supported here on the page and it ended up that, the idea is that once you make a 4x4, all color blocks attached dissapear and score 40 points. On the current state the games gets way harder, if you want to play it I uploaded the last release on my dashboard. And thanks a lot about the score board, I though about that too but I didnt do the proper research

much appreciate the feedback, since this is my first jam that I ever participated on.

Nice job! The idea is awesome. The moving aspect really puts on the pressure and makes it fun. Some FX would've been cool as well as some sort of game mechanic that allows you more flexibility/ability to come back from mistakes.

Developer

Thank you! hoping to implement that on my last version

interesting concept, was there a way to rotate the block?

Developer

Thank you! the idea of an inverted tetris is that blocks spawn with random rotations too (90, 180, 270 degrees)

Very nice little game! Liked the twist of tetris but with cubes moving the opposite direction!

Developer

Thank you!

Excellent game. It's fresh twist on a familiar game, and it was pretty fun. Love the Don't Fear the Reaper cover. It went well with the gameplay.

Developer

Thank you! and +10 for noticing the cover

This game made me realize almost too late that my strategy on how to proceed or win, was completly wrong! great way to make people think outside of the box!

Thank you! glad that you like it

nice concept and surprisingly hard. love slightly fast paced puzzle games like this. With some more time and more mechanics could be a really decent game!

simple but fun! it could have a slightly faster start but quickly got me thinking about how to pick up pieces so I don't hinder my movement :)
