Thank you for playing! I am happy to hear that the feature was appreciated :)
Yeah the camera movement definitely shipped with a bug which may not be helping and I have fixed this for a post-jam patch.
Tons of visual assets must have been made for this and the fact that they all have high quality is super impressive!
The variety in voice acting also brings a level of polish I was not expecting to find in a jam game, it feels like quite a fleshed out game for only 9 days! The only real pain point I could think of was that sometimes it was hard to tell friend from foe and there were a few times where I may have had my units standing over the spawn locations so I couldn't see an enemy spawn directly on top of my team.
Crazy the amount your team did in 9 days! Congrats
Love the art, and the accessibility was really nice to see! Probably the most control over bindings/settings that Ive seen in a jam. Maybe this is intentional, but when running into an area with a few obstacles around, it makes it impossible to pick your flowers back up as they get stuck under the obstacles, and any further sneezes drops more of them into these spots. I made the mistake of trying to go back for my flowers too much and lost most of them haha
Grandma was still pleased with the haul though!
It was very cool to have the items stored on tables persist into the next round. Added a nice layer of planning ahead. I did find that it was possible to soft-lock myself though as if you spend all your money on upgrades, it is not possible to play the next round without money to buy seeds. Also great work with the tutorial :)
Had lots of fun with this one! It's a pretty hard game but that makes for a good challenge. The only thing that felt maybe too punishing was the fire that could box you in with how long it lasts. Can't remember if the controls mention it, but holding mouse down is definitely the play! The first few runs I was clicking lololol
The cover art is perfect. I like the use of gold as currency + health and thematically that makes a lot of sense for a goblin! I did encounter an odd issue where I was having arrows hit me from off-screen, this may have been from enemies spawning out of sight?
I had lots of fun with this one and you have something to be proud of with this one :)
I am a big autobattler enjoyer and I like the idea here - combining it with an idler as the resource engine. I'll have to come back after the 24h period to see if I can try again as it seems to have broken and I saw the message that a fix is being worked on :)
Do you plan on expanding on the idea post-jam?
Hey BearWithHands! Thanks for playing, I am glad you enjoyed the fellas:)
With more time/polish I really wanted to make better indicators for bounty completion but this part was limited due to timing!
Partly, you need to just play to the odds and play as fast as possible, especially in the SURVIVE mode.
Hey Sovium, thank you for your detailed feedback!
Very valid for the critiques, and most of these could have been solved with some more time, just had a very busy schedule during the jam. Perhaps I will make a post-jam update if the rest of the game is well recieved :)
As for a penalty for failing, there is no penalty in the ZEN mode, however once you switch to the SURVIVE mode, failing eats into your time, and it is important to be strategic/efficient with this time as the debt builds up.
For the blurriness, you may want to disable the CRT filter, or change the font settings depending on your preferences :) these are in the settings menu in the top right.
Excellent sfx! I found it a bit awkward managing the inventory off to the side with not much time to read what the items do, though that did add to how hectic the combat feels. Pretty unique reload mechanic, it would be super cool if you added some effects like flaming/explosive bullets as pickups to load into the revolver!
Great entry :)
