I liked this game, I enjoyed how the player always rotated to see the boss and how the player health and enemy health were displayed in game as opposed to on a Hud. The game felt intense and had me on the edge of my seat. The boss had a good variety of attacks and was overall really fun.

If you wanted to improve, sound effects and music would be nice. I saw on the game page you put this together in three days, which was super impressive.

Overall, good work!

THEME: I like your take on the theme but I feel like if you're doing that you've got to make it super easy to win the first time and then it gets harder as you go on.

VISUALS: The art looks really good!

INNOVATION: This feels like a boss fight. It has a lot of things that a lot of bosses have but I did like the harder when you die idea.

SOUNDS: No sounds:(

MUSIC: No music :(

DESIGN: I liked how the menu showed the instructions. I wish the bosses HP bar was bigger I had to squint to see it.

OVERALL: Really good game I think sound would have helped a lot but other than that this game is good!

Criticism - 

I'll mention audio, but I know you said you didn't have time to get to it so I'll move on.  The main thing is that I feel like you should've integrated the theme more into the moment to moment gameplay/combat. Making the theme tie closer to the gameplay would give it a much stronger connection to the theme, but what you did is still pretty good.

Support - 

The art was super nice and so was the boss design, I liked how every time you had to approach the boss differently because you had different/less items.

Very cool! I see the similarities with my game indeed hahaha. I really liked the character designs both for the player and the enemy. I agree with the other comments, I'm sure you know sounds would make the game much more enjoyable, hope you can add that at some point in the future! Keep up the great work!

Visauls and gameplay are cool. Boss robot sometimes has attacks that are like impossible to avoid.

The best thing about your game is the graphics and art style. The worst thing that it does not have sound effect and music. Besides that a really cool experience.

Very fun! The sprites were nice, but if youd make the important things (player, boss) stand out a bit, it would be better. Overall enjoyable!

I really liked this game. Mainly because I'm developing a boss rush game when not game jamming.

The way you heal yourself is also pretty cool.

This boss was pretty cool, although I do have some suggestions.

- Adding SFX and Music would be nice ( I know you said that you did not have time, but still ).

- Adding iFrames after you take a hit would be nice. Seriously, that drill attack will literally destroy you if you are close. At least let me sacrifice a bit of health to deal damage.

- Speaking of the drill attack, it felt incredibly frustrating when the boss got on the edge of the screen while doing the drill + laser attack. There was no way I could have not taken damage there.

- About the way you implemented the theme, I did not really like it, because just like the other game that made you become weaker after beating a wave of enemies ( on your game, a boss ), if you die you get back to the beginning. (  The other game is this one: https://newbie-indie-game-dev.itch.io/more-human ) Note: how are you even supposed to beat the boss without the melee attack

- Speaking of the melee attack, I wish instead of K+L the controls would be Left Mouse Button + Right Mouse Button.

- Lastly, I wish there was a way to play on full-screen mode.

Overall good game. I was only able to beat with the melee + shield, but still.

You're right about the iFrames,  I really forgot about them while designing the game. That's kinda bad.

Good job on beating the first level! To beat it without drill: the boss will gradually overheats by itself, so it will eventually explode.

Nice game with just the right difficulty for a quick try. Really like the stand-still to heal mechanic, which is totally at odds with the big robot trying to kill you. Works really well, great job!

Overall, very addictive and fun gameplay. I really like the particle effects, you could maybe add an easy mode for people like me (*cough cough* not great gamers :D). Great game!

Really loved the art style but wasnt able to survive through one round, so I didn't really get to see the theme play out. Really great work on the overall look.

NICE! I think it's my favorite submission so far (partially because I'm nostalgic for this art style since the golden age of Newgrounds). 

But besides nostalgia, I think the mechanic of staying locked onto the target is fitting, and the combat feels well rounded. One thing I think would've improved the experience is some sort of indication of progress in beating the boss.

There is actually an indicator for the boss: the pressure gauge on its back shows how close it is to overheat. But you're right, it's not visible enough!
