love weird little games like this, reminded me of a more wholesome babbdi :) I would heavily recommend tuning the movement mechanics, platforming parts really killed me (the trees... god help me) but at least it's consistent so you can blame the player for being bad :P Really enjoyed the world you built and the artstyle is super dope. nice game!

Developer

Yeah I should have made the platforming easier my bad. Thanks for playing anyways

Wow! That was definitely challenging to code, but you did great! Super cool theme/gameplay/everything really. I loved the design of the world and your take on surrealism. The only thing I think could use some tweaks is the movement, I think giving the player an acceleration when pressing shift can feel smoother and easier to control the player, and also maybe adding some coyote time to jumping? Jumping on top of the water lillies was very hard to control (for me, at least).

Great job! Thanks for sharing, super awesome idea!:)

Developer

Yeah the platforming mechanics really came too much as an aftertought in the game... Thank you for playing anyways!

This game has a lot going for  it, and visually is going in a great direction. I think it's a bit too open ended at first, but I know that is a design decision that sort of filters out who should play certain games. I think this shows an ability to design a 3D platformer with a lot of neat and interesting things. Great job!

Great job with this! Gave me LEGO Island vibes in the best way.

Really love the look and going around the island. The way the puzzle and scenes are interconnected toghether is a marvel. Love the filter you used!

DUDE! You call my game's platforming bullshit? By the time I climbed the tree my girlfriend left me and I got evicted. You ruined my life! In all seriousness, amazing game and a really unique and exciting presentation. Also apprechiate you naming an NPC after me. And then making them blind. And an imposter. On the Fortnite battle bus.

Developer

Hahaha this made me laugh thanks for playing.

This game has an interesting style and presentation. I liked the old school aesthetic and the character design is great. The game kind of reminds me of a cross between Myst and something surreal like LSD Dream Simulator (though not as overwhelming as that game lol). I guess what I'm trying to say is that the game has sort of a dreamlike vibe that I thought was really cool. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

Lovely job on this! You made a wonderfully intriguing open world with delightful puzzles that is incredibly impressive with the time constraint of the jam. Great work!

I love the vibe, the puzzles were hard but not impossible. Graphics, music, general world feel was on point. I do however think the number puzzle needs a better cue to tell the player that dragging the number over the square negates or adds values, I had no clue and was just messing around for a solid 15 minutes, but other than that, super awesome game, and probably the one I have spent the most time with so far!

Developer

Thank you for being so patient with the game. I never have any time to carefully playtest jam games and to me everything seems clear but obviously that's rarely the case haha

Hi, I'm a big fan of surreal games and I think you did a really great job with this! I felt like I was booting up a weird CD-rom from 20 years ago, and it reminded me of the old Lego Island or Myst games . It was really cool exploring this little world, and there were a lot of fun moments for me.  Loved jumping onto the bus and hitching a ride, then spent a lot of time on the herb/verb/ferb/etc logic puzzle. Very clever! I also appreciate a lot of the small details, like the fact that there is an eerie black sun, the bizarre ocean waves, the strange character face textures, etc. Overall really great work.

Developer

Wow thank you for the very detailed comment. I'm really glad you liked it!

Really awesome aesthetic!

Art direction and character design were great. The jumping mechanics I feel got in the way of the charm of the game, but overall I enjoyed exploring your world!

Great job!

I really like the visuals here. The lowe resolution feel of it is very nostalgic and nice to me. Music is nice, atmosphere is nice. Ran into a few bugs where I fell through the floor in some parts, but maybe that's supposed to be a hole and I just couldn't see.

Pretty unique game with challenging puzzles. The character design and animations are really cool. I would say that for this kind of platforming the controls are too snappy and coyote time is essential. You have also created really good atmposphere for the game. Hyvää työtä!

Kiitti!

I am IN LOVE with this game!!! The aesthetic is amazing and I really want to make something like this now. Also I felt so cool when I jumped on the tram car haha.

Developer

Hahaha thank you. I also liked the tram and I considered making it a bigger part of the game but ran out of time

Love the graphics! Nice but also surreal without being too scary (afaik. I Didn't know where to go. And I have no idea what to do for the lighthouse puzzle cuz there wasn't any instructions afaik).

Developer

Thanks for trying it out

Such a cool graphical style and character design! This is very impressive for a jam game. I really like the juxtaposition of the creepy characters and upbeat music and pleasant world.

Developer

Thank you so much

Loved the strange characters combined with really smooth animation. It really added surreal atmosphere!

Developer

Haha thank you

you nailed exploration and problem solving. I am absolutely devastated that everyone died and it was all my fault.   Would have been nice to give the player a respawn option if they fail the final boss.

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks for playing but there has to be some stakes in the final battle and I find different endings in video games cool

Don't care what you say, you made this game for me

Developer(+1)

Hearing this made me so happy because I've felt like the games I've made with my friends should only be entertaining to us because they include so many inside jokes and stuff that wouldn't appeal to strangers. Thanks for playing

Submitted(+1)

cool surreal game.  Im too dumb to figure out a math puzzle but I sussed out the liar on the flying train at least!  Nice quirky mysterious atmosphere with some great weirdos hanging around 👍 love it

Developer(+1)

Yeah the lightman npc had the instructions for the puzzle in his hand but I shouldn't have made it so vague. I'm really happy if you figured out the tram puzzle, because I think I made it too illogical as well. Thanks for playing!
