How does your game represent Mode?
The first thought that came upon seeing the theme was "Bigmode". So we implemented that idea literally, featuring 2 gamemodes: Bigmode and Smallmode.

This game is created around the following mode definitions: "a way or manner in which something occurs or is experienced, expressed, or done." and "a particular form or variety of something".

The gameplay gets pretty chaotic real fast in the big mode, I'm actually enjoying it! I was almost wondering if there's an ending but then I reached it. I'm glad he's back to normal now! He just gonna deal with a lot of police talking I suppose lol

I love the small narrative, it's pretty adorable. Good job on the 3D and character design too, I love them!

Wow wow wow! What a unique and amazing experience. Love the way you interpreted the theme and the art and game play were outstanding. I had a blast playing this, great job!

Man. MAN! I have rated almost all of the games I've played 5/5 on originality because they're all very unique (save for a few) but now I wish I had rated most of them 3 so this 5 star would mean something special because I'd rate this 15/5 on originality if I could. What a unique and weird experience that's super well programed, uniquely varied in it's execution, and presented so well. Everything about this is seriously just super impressive. Great job to everyone on the team!

You're flattering us too much ><! Thank you so much for playing, glad we could provide a unique experience!

BIG = GOOD

Surprisingly this is the first big mode game I've played, and even more surprising was how unique the gameplay would be! Seriously unique game, I don't think I've ever played another game with this kinda mechanic. The multi-camera set ups were awesome and the sound of popping people was so satisfying :) I had an issue where enemies were piling up behind me so I couldn't get rid of them, but other than that this is a well made game. nice one!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Popping people turns out to be great stress relief during exam season lol. You can disrupt enemies behind you by stomping if they're within range, can move feet as far back as possible to get enemies in range of a stomp.

  • The art style and little introduction animations are so cute and awesome
  • This is such a unique game, I love the different camera angles and the multitasking stress
  • Its so awesome that you can combine the mechanic to stomp with quickly locking in a position that has no people in it as well as using it to attack the police cars
  • Small mode is pretty fun too, I tried doing the first part without using dodge at all by standing still and anticipating the attacks.
  • You can tell a lot of thought and love has been put into this, you've done an amazing job putting this together in the time frame <3

Thank you for playing!! You're probably the first person I've seen figure out the alternative benefit of stomp :0

Very creative take with the "big mode" gameplay! It had a suprising amount of depth and good pacing too.

This is such a fun idea. The 2D and 3D art is so beautiful and the world felt really populated and fleshed out. I also liked that in Big Mode the increasing amount of camera angles tied in with the narrative. Cool game!!

The cinematic adding of cameras and gameplay elements in big mode was great, and running around in small mode felt good and polished. I really liked the short storyboard intro for each mode. Good job!

This is pretty impressive! I tried really hard to avoid squishing citizens in big mode, but after a while, I accepted my fate of being a villain and just started squishing many people. Fun game!

this was a really impressively polished game tbh! the art and presentation were very professional. though something about the kid drinking growth serum turned him into the worst kind of GTA protagonist, just obliterating as much in his wake as possible. but luckily karmic justice struck when he tried to turn into a kaiju again and instead was trapped in a hell of his own making where he would be eaten by a giant cat.

Great entry, Big Mode was a lot more fun than small mode.

I love Big Mode! I was annihilating the pedestrians ngl. very funny. And the different perspectives for different obstacles was very cool!

Good stuff! The big mode gameplay is very well realized. The way the split screen introduces new threats to keep track of it really cool! The stepping mechanic definitely stood out right at the beginning as an awesome mechanic. I think the small mode could use a little love, however. Altogether though, fantastic work!

This game is a lot of fun. the art is great and the big mode is especially fun. though i don't know if it is even possible to walk while dodging every civilian. but i thought small mode could use a little more depth. enjoyed my time with this one.

Developer

Thanks for playing! It's definitely not possible to avoid every civilian (unless you are an absolute god), but it is very possible to reach the end without depleting all your health or sanity (and get the good ending).

The visuals are fantastic and trying to balance everything going on in Big Mode make for fun, frantic gameplay

look if you didn't want to make me a mass manslaughterer you shouldn't have been running in the middle of the road 😭

great game(s)! the big mode was really fun, it was super exciting dealing with the chaos of everything coming at you at once. the multiple screens made this even better - overwhelming, but in a good way! i also liked the small mode, though it was a little held back for me by it being hard to tell when the cat would actually hit you. i think the interpretation of the theme overall is really cool overall, but making basically two separate games that don't interact at all makes it feel a bit disjointed. maybe if you keep working on this, you could have a system where you swap between big and small modes in the middle of gameplay? outside of the mechanics aspect, i ADORED everything about this game's stylistic flair! the art and model work was incredible, it's clear you knew what vibe you were trying to go for and i love it! nice job, and especially nice job pulling off making what's basically two whole games in the span of a single game jam!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Really glad you enjoyed the chaos! We were aiming for smallmode to be like a follow-up story to bigmode, but ran out of time to really make it pop and interconnected qwq.

Nice putting two game modes into one! I think the big mode one was my preferred mode. Interesting way to handle playing as a giant character, even though I squashed more people than I had hoped...

Bigmode was a neat game! I really enjoyed the presentation, both before and during the game. The still panels were cute and funny, and the 3D models reflected the panels' style well. The gameplay itself was also very unique. I like how the simple premise gradually ramps up over time to become very challenging. Nice work!

The bigmode game is genuinely impressive with how unique and responsive it is, well done.
