How does your game represent Mode?
When we saw the theme was MODE our first thought was computers. Incorporating the different modes of a computer (Sleep, Power, Restart) as videogame mechanics became our primary objective throughout development.

Lovely game, loved all the little references and retro feel was on point!
So cute. Loved the charachters and the screen world. There's a lot to unravel and reference to find, it has personality in spades(I loved the Mega,Kilo and Nano charachters). The farming simulutation is a nice idea as a main mechanic although I still don't understand why some items glitch out (is it due to the expiration time only or there's something else?).
Great entry and I 'll have to do another run because my speakers died just before starting the game :(
I absolutely love everything about this entry! There's so much to it, and it's all oozing with personality and care. The different music for each app, the characters and their personalities (admin privileges for Nanobyte!), pretty much everything on display was pitch perfect. Excellent work!
That was an adorable romp through the computer, and the ending was just great too! I loved the little hats and the butterfly (though being a Kirby enthusiast I can’t help but wonder if the butterfly is some type of god). Also, with the items bugging out after some time, and the prevalence of horror themes indie games in recent years, I couldn’t help but worry there was going to be a seedy underbelly to the game. That didn’t seem to pass and was cozy till the end. Could’ve used a few more web pages to explore, or some other directories, but for being so polished for the jam I think it was wonderful! 💻🍯
It's so original, and the sprites are, I don't know how to say it, very cozy I would say.
A cool online farming sim! I liked the interactivity of the narrative with this one, having to change windows and interact with different UI/characters. Having separate music for each window was also a nice touch. A very small critique, but I wish it was a little bit clearer if the different farming windows yielded different results for different seeds, but other than that, I thought everything was straightforward. Great game!
Definitely one of my favorite entries so far! Super polished, good narrative design for a jam, absolutely adorable. Really great job! Made it to the end and had a good chuckle. Congrats on an excellent game in a short time!
This game is amazing. really blew me away. awesome art, sfx, and music, really takes me back to early internet days. and the game itself is really cool, fun intriguing gameplay and very interesting story. beautiful game!
Played all the way until the end, so well put together I loved every minute of it
Not gonna lie, there's a lot of potential with this one. Extremely well presented and really "spoke" to me with the whole early internet theme and being able to navigate the folders and websites and such.
Going in I had a lot of ideas in my head as to what the game is going to be about. An internet exploration game like Hypnospace Outlaw? A meta storytelling experience like OneShot? DDLC? The mention of spoilers on the game page had me intrigued and I didn't read further. The music felt really unsettling and mysterious at times, fuelling my drive to explore and experiment. I've spent a decent amount of time trying things out after beating it once, from getting to grow every single crop and trying to use the resulting "items", to filling a farm folder with "rotting" crops, to talking to megabyte before the ending.
In the end, the game simply turned out to be an old-school internet themed Stardew Valley. I was hoping to find at least something very minor, something that would imply that in the future there will be more to the game than just the core loop, yet I couldn't find a single hint. So the direction for the game (if you choose to keep working on it) didn't feel clear - will it expand as an internet themed stardew? Or will it become "something more"?
I've had fun, but in the end felt disappointed - mostly due to my own expectations after having played similarly themed games in the past. Administer so far felt very linear compared to them and didn't reward experimentation and going off the main path. Oh well, it's only fair because it's a jam version - I'll be looking forward to updates.
Congrats on finishing the jam!
Super creative game! I loved it, the story was funny and the core gameplay loop was fun too - it kept me engaged. Good job
I'm immediately captivated when I booted the game! Not gonna lie I thought I was playing the Megabyte guy at first lol
I like that we can pick up trash and drop it anywhere aye
I got lazy with time stopping so I kinda let the time runs in x10 times at all times and just time when to harvest my crops, but somewhat I somehow just magically got freedom when I was about to do the computer admin quest hahaha
Fun game!
Hey this was super cute. Really well put together and charming. I love the HUD element for the clocking tool. Ending was cute haha.
I love the aesthetic of the game taking place in a computer. You nailed that old computer look, and combined with the game play, it was a fun and immersive experience. Wonderful job, well done!
Really interesting concept! I thought the farming gameplay loop was cool and the time mechanics were solid, but I lost some interest toward the end when I was repeating the same steps to sell crops over and over again.
I also ran into what I think was glitch where I couldn't access part of my inventory if I emptied it in a specific way. Maybe I wasn't using the arrow keys properly, but I tried a bunch of combinations and it seemed like I was stuck. I had two items on the top left of my inventory and two on the bottom right, and I couldn't figure out a way to reach the two bottom right. There was a gap between them so I figured that was the issue. I fixed it by picking up more items.
Overall I enjoyed this though, great job!
Very cool concept! The presentation for this game is very unique. I would definitely play this game more if it were not for a few small bugs. I hope you continue to work on this game!
this was such a cool experience, i love the way you flipped the “farming sim” genre on its head! i’ve never really been able to get into them personally, because i hate having to worry about time management. joke’s on them though, cause this game completely fixes that problem! 😁 i love the mechanic of being able to take full control of how the clock works in this, it helps take away all of the stress i usually get from these types of games. the aesthetic of this game was also incredible - it felt super authentic to being inside an older computer! i had a lot of fun seeing everything all the characters had to say, too, and the same goes for seeing all of the crops in the game. amazing job!!!
this was a really clever take on the theme and just in general a very witty premise. a lot of world building too going on, supporting this quirky premise and I found the graphics really cute and well suited.
unfortunately, I ran into a whole lot of glitches (no pun intended). I got stuck pretty early on because a second instance of the inventory appeared on screen and I couldn't close it,
or sell my wares to kilobye, and also somehow an entire crop of files went rotten even though I'm just about positive I had the clock paused. totally expected within a jam context, of course!
beyond the bugs, I'd recommend clarifying that you need to hold Shift for a moment and let the power mode manager thingy opening before inputting an arrow key, as for me at least, just pressing shift + the arrow key didn't immediately change the mode. also, a shortcut for minimizing the window you're in would be a great addition.
Thank you for the feedback. Super appreciate it! : D
Wow. I have not encountered those issues before. I'll keep an eye out. Thank you for the reports. o7
I would definitely play more of this once the bugs are ironed out and probably will play more in the current state if I can avoid doing whatever I did to make the bugs happen. I'm actually surprisingly invested in where the story is going! There's not a way to save your game, is there? (If I could save my game, the bugs would be less of an issue cuz I could just reload a save, there might be a save game feature in here and I just missed it cuz I'm le dumb.)
Currently, we do not have saves in the game. We do hope to implement that in the future. 😋🙏
This was epic. Really loved the writing, graphics, and concept. Super creative and fun. I escaped!
Really unique and interesting game! Creative interpretation/implementation of the theme, the characters were written well and the visuals are very polished. One point of feedback is I don't think the actual gameplay loop is that engaging, you're mainly waiting for your crops to grow and then sell. Of course, this is only a jam game but I see a lot of potential if you want to flesh this out into a full experience. There's a ton of heart in this and I enjoyed playing it :D
