Great music and love the different power ups. I used the frog suit most of the time. Adding some levels that mainly use the monkey or the cat would be awesome!

Cute little platformer! I appreciated having the devs' (and/or playtesters') times in there so I could compare against myself. It milked a few extra plays out of me for sure! Fun entry, nice job.

Nice entry, and a fun platformer! I liked the design of the levels and the presentation, which were very charming! I also thought the level editor was a great touch; glad to see that as an option! As others have mentioned, the acceleration of the jump felt a bit off/floaty. Also, having a few more platforming challenges that emphasized the dash would have been nice. Still, I liked the variety. This was a fun one; I'm glad I was able to play it!

P.S. - I appreciate the reference to the Peanuts with your game's title. A+ for that!

Great work! This has a lovely aesthetic that is cute and fun to look at. I love the double use of the theme, mode, in both the mechanics of the game and also the goal of setting the phones to flight-safe mode. Nice job!

I think you should probably move some things out of the option button since I don't think some of them should be lumped in there. I really appreciate the dev tools and level editor! That's great!

The idea is nice and the cat is pretty adorable. I personally think the jump is a little too fast, for reaction time in mid air.

The game crashed when I tried to stream it in discord call with my teammate, it happened 3 times XD I guess it's shy and wanted others to try it on their own lol

Developer (1 edit)

Glad you enjoyed it! Too much under options is a valid point, it was mostly to keep the main menu clean but we probably could've found a better layout.

The streaming issue is odd, I haven't heard anyone else experiencing anything similar but will be sure to watch out for it when using the framework for future projects :)

I really liked how cute the entire game is, and the three different animal modes were interesting and useful. I found myself mostly sticking to monkey and frog out of preference however. Fun game, good job!

this was nice! i really loved the art in this game - charlie is so cute, and i loved all of his little costumes! the gameplay was a little basic, but the fact that you’ve included an ingame score leaderboard goes a super long way. it’s really enjoyable being able to race against the developers, it adds a lot of replayability! it was also extremely polished in its ui, and it’s incredible that there’s an actual in-game level editor in a game jam (even if i have no idea how to share the levels i make). really good job!

Developer

The levels are stored as .csv files (under Source/Content/Levels) so you can share them by copying that over but we didn't get as far as making sharing a real feature. Thanks for the feedback :)

Very cute, I like the theme. The game has personality and fun art. Nice job! :)

I thought the controls were fine. Super cool having a score leader board, and being able to somehow fit in a level editor on top of that is insane! The music was pretty good, and the art was cute. I just wish there was a few more developer-crafted levels!

Short, sweet, and to the point! It is a little stiff, but a few small changes like adding velocity to taste and more intuitive controls can go a long way to helping that.

This is a good showing for a first jam, but oh man did I have a hard time enjoying this game. I like the concept and the animations and sound I can get over, but man do the controls leave a lot to be desired. I'm not surprised though because this very much feels like a game that was meant to be mapped to a controller. I may even give it another shot with joy to key, but as-is I couldn't compel myself to finish it. That being said, you guys all have promise and I hope you do another jam soon.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback,  gamepad support was on our todo list but we just didn't get to it in time

Cute little game, I wish the interval was a bit longer. Over all functions well, but felt like there was a  mastery I was lacking with the controls that may go away with enough play time.

Love the vibe and cuteness of it all.

Great job!

I love all the different modes! They all feel super useful! Only issue was that the monkey mode seemed to be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it'd let me climb up and over the wall, and other times it wouldn't. Either way, fantastic job!

Developer

I had lot of fun writing (and rewriting, and rewriting again) the hitbox and collision detection code, thought I'd managed to iron out all the kinks but not too surprised to hear I missed a few. Glad you managed to enjoy it all the same :)

sadly doenst work for me :/ when i press play the game crashes. But theres a cute cat on the start screen so im  sold.

Developer

Hey, sorry to hear that, it might be the same issue a few others have had, there's a fix on the main game page and in a few of my replies that you can try

Short and sweet game!

The three modes were cool although I do think the frog and monkey were more useful than the cat. The music was calming and the art (especially the cutscene art) was great.

Overall, great work on this!

Simple sweet short game. Loved the art style and palette, I thought it was cute. Wish there were more levels! Something that could be improved is level design that forces the player to interact with the main mechanics of the game. For the most part I was able to beat the whole thing with monkey/frog mode. Also dash on the spacebar was unintuitive to me, but that could be a skill issue. Platforming felt tight though and overall it was a well made game!

A nice cute game! Really loved all the art and the sound effects. Nice job with all of the extras as well, the leaderboard + the level editor are really nice additions

Great work to the whole team!!

Very very cute game. I loved the art style and the homemade sound effects. It was a nice touch having your own high scores in there. The dev console is available as an accessibility feature I imagine? I've only seen that in giant releases so that actually makes this a Triple-A title.

Developer

The dev console started as a genuine dev console to make tweaking the movement numbers faster, decided to leave it in for flexibility and a concession to the fact that the time limit meant it's really balanced around my own preference/skill. You can (at least in theory) tune it to make things easier to control but you can also go the opposite way if you're better at platformers than me and want to sacrifice control to make things a bit more fluid and zippy.

Neat stuff! good job with this one, fun, i like what you did with the theme & looks good

Cute characters, fun platforming, and I'm a sucker for tight color palates. You can really tell the care the artist put into making sure all the colors were consistent and played nice no matter how the composition changed. Great work!
