  • Different abilities are cool but bringing only one in makes it feel lacking, could've potentially had them in as powerups. Controls are quite hard to use and makes playing quite difficult as it felt more fitted for car controls.

I really liked this game, I found the idea of teams in the top down format very interesting and fun, congratulations on the work you did!

Hey!

How are you? It's Ilias again. I have some new questions for you.

What do you think about game jams in general, and this game jam in particular? What do you think could have been better, and do you have any suggestions?

What were your favorite video games?

Where do you think the strength of video games resides? What do you believe a video game should have to be a successful video game?

If you would like, you can tell me a little bit more about yourself and your background, if you have any information you would like to share.

Thank you in advance,

Ilias.

Sick game, I felt that the control scheme could be a bit more fluid. Maybe incorporating the mouse for aiming would be better. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the visuals, especially the VFX.

Developer

Hey thanks for play it, yeah i consider that, but i wanted to play the game with a friend in the same computer, like the old games of ps1 or ps2, that why the tank controls, but i need to thing a beeter concept to the controls x3

Hey    Bromelee (@JFBrMusic)   !

How are you?

My name is Ilias.

I tested your game "Rescue Warfare" ,

I have some feedbacks, thoughts, and questions.

In a war game , It's  a nice touch having the core objectif saving rather than destorying , it's rare in a game .

i think you as well have a common issue that i mentioned to other participants about the loading screen

The loading at the begining was progressing correctly then it takes to much time ! i think it's Unity games issue its something i notice in several game entries for the jam.

The Controls Could have some improvements , i think it's a bit difficult as it is in its current state .

The camera position also could be nicer ( especially the rotation )

Questions:

Did you include any optimisation techniques or did you rather chose to include only the in-engine ones.

what engine and tools did you use to create your game , your graphics ?

was it hard to develop your game ? did you experienced any challenges ?

what inspired you for your game idea , and the gameplay ? The Game's name  and stoty ?

N.B:

It would mean a great deal to me if you could rate my game. If you haven't already, feedbacks from friends and fellow gamers is valuable to me.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and your time.

Thanks!

-Ilias .

Developer

Yeah the idea was different and i like it the idea too.

Questions:

-Well i use some optimisations from the program to compress the images, the music and others external tools to make it faster to be read on game and reduce the size of the exported game.

-I use Unity for the game, for UI and others things are created directly on the unity or using adobe, for sound and music i use audition to adjust the audio effects and mixcraft 8 to create my music.

-Yes was hard to be honest, the development was in 4 days to be honest, the first idea was discarted and take the chance to create this one and the hard part was the AI, and i admit is not the best Intelligences but works enougth for the game jam, and was good to be created in two days 3 differents AI.

-I always love the futuristic ideas and games, so taht give the idea to instead of die you get encapsulated and restore your blood, then i think in this idea like a safe zone where all the fallen or injured soldiers are teleported and is like a safe war where no body dies and just fitgh between to rescue all the fallens they can save to resend them to the real battle field. Yeah to be honest is a weird idea XD

I will try your game and try leave my calification x3 thanks for playing x3

Oh, thank you for answering.

Oh, you only worked on it for 4 days; the jam was about 10 days!!

Did you use Leonardo for the AI, or something else? And was the AI content hard to come up with? I mean, the prompt text choosing?

________

Okay, sounds good. Post some feedbacks and thoughts also; it would be a valuable consideration to me .

Thank you again.

o no, none of that, i was talking about the CPU players the Artificial Intelligence for the other 3 players, the companion of each one and the fallens. About the movement and how they will work between every one.

Submitted(+1)

Oh, okay.

I guess you meant the in-game actors events and the relation between them.

I tried implementing some AI movements towards the player using the Unreal Engine. It worked at first, but now it's inconsistent—sometimes the actors stay still. I still need to figure out a solution for improving the game.

The player 'Hability' could be explained in the description as I wasn't sure which to pick so just went with grenade. The player controls can be improved. User onboarding could also be slightly better, Overall a good idea.

Developer

I add that in the info section where is all the data, but maybe i could add a sub info in the selection menu too, but the time XD

Thanks for playing by the way x3

I feel like controls can be better, but overall a great 3D shooter :)

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing, and yeah, i will try to find a better controls to be play by two players in the same keyboard, and thanks so much for playing x3

But everything else is done very well (I especially liked the visual effects. I’ve never worked with them, so I can’t imagine how difficult it is)
This control drives me a little crazy, like I'm driving a car :)

Submitted(+1)

I had a really, really hard time to get used to the controls. To the point that I just gave up. Reminded me a bit of playing a shooter on the PS1 :D

You did very good on the UI, music to be fair. Even with the difficult controls, I see what you did here and I think it could make a fun game when you give it a bit more love after the jam :)

All in all, good effort for just 10 days!

Submitted(+1)

Nice work, the controls are pretty hard to grasp at first, especially with your companion kinda blocking your way all the time. I really like the VFX especially, well done overall!

Submitted(+1)

I like the art style, all the assets work very well together, would have been nice to have a minimap as I often found myself checking the same places entering from different directions

Submitted(+1)

The UI art is fantastic! It's polished and evokes the game atmosphere!
