Excitement is in the air as BIGA Arcade, in partnership with Kronnect proudly unveils its 2nd Game Jam. The chosen theme for this round is Rivalry. We're in search of game developers, be it individuals or teams, who can encapsulate the essence of competition, opposition, and the spirited tension of rivalry in their game.

Prizes:

• 1st Prize: $3000 (Boostable to $3600 with significant social engagement) 1 FREE asset from Kronnect (excluding bundle) 
• 2nd Prize: $1250 (Boostable to $1740 with robust social engagement) 1 FREE asset from Kronnect (excluding bundle) 
• 3rd Prize: $500 (Boostable to $600 with active social involvement) 1 FREE asset from Kronnect (excluding bundle) 
• Hidden Gem: $250 (Team Judges will select their favourite outside top 3 winners)

Additionally, the BIGA team will spotlight other impressive entries with special awards.

Date: Prep up for the 24th of November.

Duration: GameJam will go for 10 days of game crafting.

Judging Period: After the jam concludes, a 14-day review phase starts, 

Theme: (RIVALRY) - This theme pushes boundaries, encouraging developers to explore the depths of competition, opposition, and confrontation. Whether you're thinking of intense PvP face-offs, narrative-driven conflicts between characters, score-based rivalries, or even subtle competitions within gameplay mechanics, "Rivalry" offers a vast playground for creativity. Let this theme inspire unique game mechanics, compelling stories, and dynamic player interactions.

This can manifest in various forms: examples are

• Scoreboard Rivalry: Foster competition with leaderboards where players strive to outscore each other.
• Narrative Rivalry: Craft a storyline centered around opposing factions, families, or characters, creating tension and opposition throughout the gameplay.
• Character Rivalry: Develop in-game characters with contrasting goals or personalities, compelling players to choose sides or navigate intricate relationships.
• Player vs. Player (PvP): Let players go head-to-head in competitive modes, testing their skills against one another.
  

Additional RULE!: To avoid early starts there will be a twist rule added 24hrs before the Game Jam commences announced on our twitter and discord.

Game Type: We're looking for games playable in a browser. For a seamless player experience, aim to keep the game size under 250MB. (any games not playable in a browser will be disqualified)

Scoring: A scoring model is a must-have. Whether it's leaderboards, level achievements, or other metrics, the system should fuel players' competitive spirit and drive to share.

Voting: It's over to your peers for voting this time who will determine the entries that truly resonate. 

See the below criteria games will be judged on:

• Theme: Does the game match the theme and how well have they incorporated rivalry?
• Social Engagement During Jam: Did the developers actively showcase their progress and engage on social media throughout the jam?
• Experience: Assessing the game's interface, overall feel, controls, immersion level, and its polish.
• Innovation: Are there unique and original game mechanics, concepts, or features that set the game apart from others? We're looking for fresh takes, unconventional approaches, and groundbreaking elements that push the boundaries of traditional gaming.
• Storyline: Is the narrative compelling and does it enhance the game experience?
