I'll take that 1/1 any day. Thanks for playing and your feedback!

agreed :) but for a full release you might have a Wordfeud-like game on your hands :-)

Very nice entry and had alot of fun playing it.

There were two (one actually) game breaking bugs for me: the jump was anything but consistent and really made it a less good experience for me. If you expect to update this game, I will definately try it again :)

Also, leaderboard did not show up for me ( I guessed it was the leftmost button after you finished the level? )

69 kills on first try - perfect score to stop immediately.

Very (very) simple implementation of a shooter which ramps up difficulty crazy fast.
Adding a bit more variety and a bit more vision would definately help with the gameplay.

I got my ass handed over by the CPU - no chance at all :D

Graphics, sounds and music was spot on. In general, it was a very nice entry!

I don't know why, but this was the best game for me in this jam. Graphics, sounds and gameplay just clicked and I wanted to keep getting a better score. Really good job!

Grapling hook was nice! But overall platformer experience was a bit slippery.

I like the race feature, but I think it's bugged with all the current times :D

Haha!

Get all ingredients before starting ;)

Very, very nice gameplay! Bit of story, nice artwork and music. Just an overall good experience! Very nice job.

Fun little game, nice sprites. Overall good experience :)

I got until about a score of 300 and i'm not sure if you ever need more then one bullet. Mixing this up and have a bit more variety would improve the game alot

Score: 101

Soundtrack was nice, gameplay extremely simple, but did the trick. The Theme was a bit harder to recognize, but sharing my score will hopefully help :)

I agree with other replies, the soundtrack was the best part!

Game felt smooth, tutorial was good. Overall gampeplay was pretty easy in general, but very hard by times. I felt cheated by the rings occasionally :)

The competition per level was very nice and a good implementation of rivalry.

Overall, nice entry!

Graphics were pretty cool, but I was unable to get something done due to the controls.

For a next jam, I would suggest looking at some current popular brawlers and literally just take those inputs - this would make it familiar for first time users :)

Regardless, within the jam, this was a pretty neat entry. Think you did a good job!

Thanks :D

Thanks for playing!

Yes, VR would be awesome with your game, do it! :D

Nice graphics, cute minigame and overall very good experience.

Regarding the competition: it was mentioned, but not visual in any way. It would have helped to see how far in front of marco you actually are so that it's actually more of a competition.

All in all, very nice!

I was unable to really get into playing this game. The controls describe how you would use them, but them game itself does not seem to reflect this.

I would love to give an earnest review, do you have some tips or advice on how to play?

Very decent ( and hard! ) entry.  The music was not helping me out at all here and I had it muted pretty quick.

I found there was no room for error with the mouse controls. Which is kind of how Jenga is, but on the other hand you might give the player a tiny bit more slack.

Good job on finishing it within the jam!

Disclaimer: worked for on chrome.

Gave it a try and did have some nice working game loops.

Units which were destroyed, were not replaceable, which made me auto-lose instantly. Waiting until I was able to buy a plane took very long, so balancing as a whole was a bit off.

Besides that, impressive game loops for such a short game jam, good job.

That bird was definately too big and on a spot which is quite crucial for you to survive.

Simple endless runner with good music to keep you going!

Fun little game, but with some balance issues ( to say the least :P )

I think the UI was nice, but a bit too simple. Be a bit more directive in what you give the player. First time i thought the interface showed me the controls while actually, it gave me the option to select a wizard ( very nice touch and adds to replayability ).

The gameplay itself was kinda slow and with only having one attack going on, gets quite boring too. Adding a bit more options to limit the other player would be a nice improvement.

As for the wizards, i found that Fire trumped all. One hit, 2-3 dps ( i think? ) Which is insane on the total amount of 10.  Dibs on fire!

Besides this feedback, it was just a solid entry and you did a good job in getting this done within the limits :)

I'm not entirely sure what I played here. Took me some time to notice I had a playable character and once i got the gist of it, it locked me out on level 5 :D  So that's where I stopped.

Sounds was ok, graphics looked ok, but most of it was obscured by alot of UI.

In general, it has promise and I'm actually pretty curious to what you envisioned as an end result.

Simple game, but it worked due to this simplicity. Missed the damn bird the first time and had it squatted.

In general, a bit of sound would have been a nice addition. Nice entry all-in-all!

Voice-over: nice, sounds (especially the music): very good fit.

Visually it was a struggle. Text in the menu's was hard too read and the game itself was just too dark. So much, that I was hit and died by something before I could understand what happened.

Second time, I did notice the skeleton, but whatever I did, I was seemingly unable to defeat it ( that could actually be a lack of skill, haha ).

In general, I think you should have this tested a bit more with the audience next time, so that they can give feedback on their first experience. I think tuning the light would have been an easy fix and have tremendous impact on the first experience.

Still though, for just a small jam, this was a very good effort!

Bullet hell, always fun! If this was your first project within godot, pretty good too.

Regarding the game itself, it had a couple of elements which made it very hard for me to keep playing: The incoming projectiles matched too much with the environment, which made it very hard to follow them. Also, any feedback on you getting hit would have helped. The health bar was on a such a weird place that i only half way found out that it was my  healthbar :D

Couple of days in a new engine and this is the result within the time limits: Awesome job!

I had a really, really hard time to get used to the controls. To the point that I just gave up. Reminded me a bit of playing a shooter on the PS1 :D

You did very good on the UI, music to be fair. Even with the difficult controls, I see what you did here and I think it could make a fun game when you give it a bit more love after the jam :)

All in all, good effort for just 10 days!

I enjoyed the first couple of levels - it reminded me of a VR squad game i played last year, had about the same vibe.

After round 5 it became a chore real quick. Kite them, shoot them, clear. There was not much fun to be had at that point.

Overall a very good entry. Visuals, music, UI were all just very good!

Unfortunately, it did not help.

Did play it a bit and here's my review up until the point it stopped working:  The base premise is just fine. Having two players compete fits the theme nicely. The voice made it a bit personal and i really like you went that way instead of using AI generated voices. I, myself, am not a native english speaker and I did have trouble understanding it, haha.

I think my overall advice for a next jam would be: make sure you have some friends or family play it a bit for you upfront and make sure blocking bugs are out.

All in all, you did deliver a project ánd in time. Congratulations!

Oof! I liked the premise of this game and it might work out just great if the networking gets a good boost. For me ( Europe player ) it was completely unplayable.

Pros
- Visuals, sounds and aesthetics overall were very nice

Cons

- Network

I suck at surival shooters and this entry confirmed that. You could say that the groundwork here is done just fine :D

The addition of the Titan was a nice touch!

Feedback

- The audio missing was a shame. Would love to replay it with sound one day
- The titan, which was a cool addition, was OP. You could repawn it pretty fast. Also, it moved to regions I had yet to unlock :)

- Switching weapons was a bit hard - i didn't expect it to actually switch out the weapon and only halfway found out I was using my pistol again

The above is all expected in a jam. Overall I really liked your environment, mechanics were solid and it felt like a game I would want to try again! Very nice job

Thanks! If you have things which you think could be improved on, please let me know. I feel that with proper time and effort, this could be even better.

Thanks!

Tried it again with another setup. The door did open, but the room behind was black. After the (pretty long :P ) speech, nothing was seemingly interactible.

I was looking though the screenshots and noticed that it looks pretty different from what i'm seeing in the webgl version ( in my case, the UI buttons do not even have text. If you got any tips on how to play this, thanks!

I like what you did here. Very coherent entry with fitting music and visuals. I think most of the feedback already pointed out some of the issues, but for it was missing some kind of checkpoint or system to make you progress.

I tried to reach the end a couple of times, but I just gave up due to some difficulty spikes - which are to be expected in a jam, so no worries :D

I'll be checking this out again if you plan to do some small QoL updates.

Also, regarding the companion aspect - I was not sure how this was implemented. My take is was that the brother was both companion as well as the opponent?

I'm having difficulties scrolling through the list of players ( both in a small window as well as fullscreen ) so my current review is limited to what I was able to use so far:

Making a simulator in a game jam is quite daunting and I think, considering the time you could spend, you guys did a great job so far!

I think all core elements are in and really like what I see so far. In the past I played a game called Speedball and this gave me the same vibe.

There were a small number of issues which limited me in really playing it. After initially registering ( personally, i think this should never be a thing for a jam, but that's a personal opinion ) i was unable to login in my second session, so I had to make a new account.  Fullscreen does not actually scale up the window, so it's -very- small.

I hope to get a trick for the scrolling, since I really want (NEED!) the full experience :-D

(1 edit)

Yeah, regarding controls I wanted to add: i was using a laptop with mousepad, haha!

I'm not sure what I have to do here. The first door is not ineractible and that leaves me with just the spawn zone. Is there any trick here?
