Happy deving and good luck, if you get the first upload jitters just post it if it feels ready, I know several peeps who spent months making a game only to scare out the last minute when they had a nearly complete game. Anywho good luck and have fun, :3

hey luna :) (nice nickname :) i love all the stuff about our universe especially in space ;))

anyway nice to meet you, may i ask if you are just new to itch and have already collected a few game-dev experiences somewhere else, or do you start all over completely as beginner?

ive assembled some recommendations for beginners, thou i am to lazy and just copied it from another thread, i hope you dont mind, if you aready a starter consider it obsoltete :D

as this is your very first game and it looks nice indeed, BUT the problem is without a lot of followers and engagement on your games your game most certainly wont be bought, not because its bad, neither its the problem of startes you have to gain a certain reach to try to sell your games and you will see its not easy even for just a dollar games wont sell, believe me i also wanted to sell my games first and I TRUELY THINK game devs should be payed for their time and love put into their projects, but thats not how our society works,  anyway ive released 7 games till today and after i had a very deep conversation with my mentor who is a very experienced game dev and the first one who came to support me told me about these things and finally with deep pain in my heart i made everything free and hoped the best, and indeed a very few people donate, but best optinion for beginners is making games free gaining reach and tryint to join bundles especially those who for a chairty reason you wont get mones but a lot of reach as these sell very well, bundles are the only optinion to gain a bit of money as beginner, despite you get stroked by a bright flash of luck everything can happen, but i experienced the opposite.....anyway best wishes for your game i followed you to show my good will (following back would be awesome :)  as i also need more followers ;))

Thank you!!! I really like all things space and it makes me feel so tiny lol (also I'm like completely new to the actual developing part) I've done a few things related to art for this kind of stuff and tried to figure out coding once before but didn't really put the time in to learn it and got frustrated... I'm giving it another shot from a new lens and really wanna experiment, but it's gonna be a long road ahead, thank you for the recommendations I appreciate it so much!! <3

thx so much :) well in this case i might give you a few personal recommendations for the very base of your future games: no-code engines

(again quating myself (lol)

Gameguru Classic  (very good for starters, easy learning curve) which is payed, one time pay, make as many games as you like
-Gameguru Max (even better then the classic version), also one time pay, but more expensive then classic
-Easy FPS Editor (rather easy to use its a retro shooter 2.5 D engine) which is free
-Easy FPS Editor CE (same like above, but less bugs, more possibilities) which is also completely free, thou not open source
-Yahaha Engine (very easy engine, based on unity foundation, but its a no-code engine, thou you can create your own  plugin modules with lua scriptin, even visual scripting using Visual studio code) it can be used for free, but for 10 dollar a month you can subscribe and the engine has 100000 (really) of already available (lowpoly) 3d assets, which would cost much much more if you for instance would buy that much assets in assetpacks
-GDevelope ( pretty easy also no-code/visual scripting engine) also can be used free but for pretty decent monthly subscription you have a lot of advantages
Rosebud AI Engine (im not that much into it yet, but it seems easy enough, and even features 3d graphics) it can be used free but to a very limited extend, as your ai-prompt count is extremely low, but they have a lot of different subscription variants, ive choosen the 30 dollar edition, where the amount of prompts is very high and you even can directly edit the code. its very interesting to play around with this engine as its really something differetn compared to other engines ive used before

ive had a lot of fun creatingretro-fps with easyfpseditor ce engine, as it appears as 3d but you can import 2d sprites (why iam tellign you this is, as you stated you already created art), it features basic game functions, which can be extend by usign the game-scripting language, or maybe trying rosebud ai, (but you'D need a subscription to fully enjoy its features, for 30 dollar you can also deploy these webbased games to any other platform, even steam, thou i dont know how you are positioned in the current phase of ais evovlng and getting more and more importtance in game-design, want to say: ai can code, and you can focus more on the art,

Hi. Welcome to the Internet itch.io, have a look around,

Anything that brain of yours can think of can be found.

We have mountains of content, some better some worse.

And i will stop here before receiving  a sue for copyright infrigement. XD

Have luck with your projects. If you are developing 3D games, in my profile you can find free models to use. All public domain.

(Yes, i am doing cheap marketing. Hope doesn't count as spam. The not edible SPAM i mean.)  :-P

I do wanna learn 3d games at some point so I'll 100% let you know if I borrow any of your things!! Even figuring out 2d stuff is a bit much for my one dimensional brain ;(

Don't sweat it. You will get it through. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask out. :-)

Welcome Luna!  What kind of games do you like?

Hi!! I can ramble forever on games that I enjoy playing, genre and everything... Theme is 100% fantasy games, but for genre like I've really been loving roguelike & roguelites!! One of my favorites i've been playing recently is the Risk of Rain games! Oh, and another game I've really liked although i'm not good enough to beat and frustrates me to death but it's so beautiful is Elden Ring!! What kind of games do you like? ^^

Cool!  I  like classic RPGs like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana.   I   also like sports games

hello! please remember to make a couple of games before diving to your dream projects, if you're still a beginner in game dev, there is still a long journey to learn before getting sucesfull games

Thank you so much for the advice!! It's definitely a scary thing I have to admit, I do have a dream game that I really want to make but I 100% have a long road before I can realize it! I'll be sticking to a lot more chewable pieces so I don't get overwhelmed though lol

Hellooooooooooooooo
