Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous and shown in a random order.

  • Hey cool game you've got here! but the theme isn't really present. I didn't really have a cause to super use the rouge-like mechanics as I only died once. I would play more of this.
  • Snappy, responsive and immediately engaging, but lacks any real established connection to the theme through either a narrative or gameplay element. Roguelike progression feels nice, though not clearly established, and gameplay balance feels off. Music fucking rocks.

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?

WOW. This is some amazingly polished stuff for a 2 week game jam! The concept is great, the art is smooth and crisp, the music tracks are bangers and everything looks like a fully released game!

My only complaint would be that my eardrums were blown out when finishing a wave while bombs were still on screen so ALL the bombs would blow up at once. Other than that, you did a REALLY good job, especially for a solo dev! :D

Had fun with my friends on this one.

One of them wishes there was a more convenient way to cycle between weapons tho. like using the number row.

Fantastic overall. Was hard to put down lol.

Excellent!

Very nice, polished game. (I beat level 7, that is the extent of my abilities.)

Maybe the most impressive entry I've tried yet! I sank a few extra rounds in because I was just having a genuinely good time. Literally every aspect of this game is good.

I think the timer could be made more obvious/noticeable, and it would be nice if the shop upgrades had some small tooltips since the symbolism wasn't cutting it for me with a few of them. But, honestly, I'm racking my brain for petty criticism and it's hard to even think of anything.

I hope you're enormously satisfied with what you've accomplished here.

Congrats and see you around!  <3

this game is flawless, great mechanics, great tutorial, very nice and polished feel. will give it a try with controller later on, for me the keyboard controls were a bit hard to get a gasp on, but that's just the lack of my skills, not the game's flaw. i'm soo impressed with this entry, great game!

Polished experience, you cant tell there's a experienced game maker. The music and the animations, and the overall flow of the game were truly well planned.

Very fun game! Reminds me of No time to explain + Broforce!

Would highly recommend playing this game, barely scratched the surface!

Things I loved!

  • Platforming move is top notch, never felt like my character was doing something it shouldn't
  • Gunfire is great
  • Upgrade system existing is awesome
  • Physics is an awesome idea! Works really well

Improvement ops:

  • Sound settings!
  • Pause menu with sound settings
  • popup description showing what each upgrade does
  • weapon icon and name  maybe in the bottom for the weapon you have equip
  • make the weapon stay equipped between levels

Everyone should play this one!

This game is dripping with "game juice" and charisma. The sound design and art meld together perfectly, and you can tell a lot of talent and soul went into making this game. You nailed the platformer physics and game feel and that's not an easy thing to do. This is the kind of game I would easily get addicted to in a classroom back in Uni, that I'd share with my friends. Class act.

Looks really nice, love the assets and music. Also gamefeel is pretty good. Was weirded out when the bombs didn't follow the special physics rules and the game is a little hard for a casual like me. Also, some volume control would be super nice here.

Developer

Thanks! I thought about the volume control but I had no time to do it as I was focused on more critical aspects of the game. But I get your thinking... In a game where music is an essential part of the game feel, there should be an in-game volume control. All I did was a setting to turn music on and off, relying on the user to adjust the volume of the PC.

This game stands out as an impressive contender! I couldn't find any game-breaking issues, and it performs excellently with a controller. I particularly enjoy the challenging aspects, and the gunplay feels satisfying. If I were to provide some constructive feedback, and believe me, it was challenging to pinpoint anything, I would suggest making the bubbles more indicative of their functions. However, I must emphasize that the unique concept of the bubbles is one of my favorite elements in the game—it's truly unlike anything I've seen before! Fantastic job on your work.

This game is fire! I loved the mechanics, even if it seems a normal shooting game you managed to make it a lot fun! Art style and animations are incredible too.

It gets really hard to see what's going on in bigger waves, sometimes the "weird physics areas" would limit me of playing instead of being a fun obstacle. But I had fun anyway, maybe I'm just really bad at these games lol

Really, you did an amazing work, congrats!

Developer

Thanks for trying out the game. Glad you liked it. The areas are kind'of supposed to make it hard since you have to shoot those as well as the baddies. This game takes a long time to balance.

Submitted(+1)

Fun game! Pretty tough especially at the end! Music heavy

Developer

Thanks but end? This game has no end :) Its shooting baddies till infinity!

Submitted(+1)

like when I got to floor 7 and 8 it got really tough. I didn't mean like an actual ending. Haha!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely blown away by how fun and how amazing it feels to play. Just wow. ❤

This is super polished, slick, and fun. I can't believe how much you managed to fit into a 2-week jam, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it. But there's really not much here... The whole spritesheet is 256x256 for the assets...

Submitted(+1)

Oh I was talking about gameplay mechanics more than artwork. You can tell a lot of work has gone into making it all so polished. That's not to say the art isn't nice.

Everything about this game is freaking awesome, super fun idea. No way I'm gonna remember those colors though. Also left click would be nice to use and scroll wheel for changing weapons.

Developer

I never tried to use a mouse to play a plaformer+shooter game... I have to try in order to get some sensitivity to that technique. In any case, thank you very much for checking out the game. Much appreciated!

Submitted(+1)

Fun to play. Love the audio design.

Submitted(+1)

The game is all in all pretty fun, I wish I could shoot with left click instead but that's no worries, I also couldn't figure out how to buy stuff at the shop. BUT other than that the gameplay loop was fun, the music was banging, love the art, and a cool use of the theme with the spreading areas.

Also the trailer was so sick and was most of the reason I tried this, definitely a good call to make it.

Developer

Thanks for checking out the game. I should have placed some instruction to hold the fire button to purchase stuff. Alas it will have to be for the post-jam version.

At least for me, the browser version's audio sounds so bad I couldn't even play the game- it just stutters. It might be a Chrome/Linux-only issue with the audio, but I figured I'd give a heads-up.

I had the same issue with Godot and didn't export for html5.

Developer

Yeah... Apologies for that. There's not much I can do other than providing the binaries for download.
