the atmosphere you created is so engaging, the buggy textboxes and lack of visual distinction to objects what could be interacted with felt like features rather than bugs. really enjoyed it especially the way and the rhythm you introduced new features. great entry, hope to see your future games in future jams as well

congrats! that's a very decent score, you're the 24th best Heels on Fire player on the planet!

thanks for playing our game, also to highlight the community gathered around this game, it's such a great experience for us

thank you, so glad the arcade vibe we aimed for worked and you had a blast with our game!

thanks for playing our game and the kind words!

cheers! in our experience most jam games are played for one or two runs max so we aimed to go for a fun little game we can finish and somewhat polish in two weeks. very glad you had fun with it!

necromancy is a solid nice idea to manage your potential surviving chances in this vampire survivors-like game, would be great to have some difficulty curve or waves to have some room to breathe. but overall a pretty nice entry!

this game is a pretty complex and well designed entry, great job! just two notes:
- it was pretty hard to read some infos and the UI, as the letters were super small in many cases. maybe it's some compatibility issue with retina displays (mac user here), worth to look into if you'd like to further develop the idea
- pls lower the saturation contrast for the wooden and grass tiles, or have the option to change them flat, it takes away from the otherwise very nice visuals

good job!

it's a pretty game, congrats! finding the acorns were a bit tedious for me and the small hit box on them didn't help neither, would be great to have some visual help with those. but other than that it's a well designed entry, nice job!

love me some endless runner! what a beauty this game is, really well done art direction, congrats! lovely sfx as well. I would love some indicator that helps the player if an obstacle comes up that could kill them,  I've never despised hedgehogs as much as I did in this game before haha. very nice first game, keep on going!

are the screams sampled from It Takes Two? love the music anyways. it's a very well polished game, and have actual gameplay and fun factor to it. Really like the pixel art elements of the design, but I think the overall art direction suffers from the lack of environmental details. Just some basic pixel art tiles would lead to a more coherent look, instead of the current one. I also kinda miss some surprising factor from the gameplay, it gets a bit predictable after a few levels, some buffs or new mechanics would skyrocket this entry into a very good and fun game.
Hope you find these comments helpful, I think this game is one of the best ones in the jam. Hope you will have the chance to further develop it, as it has a very high ceiling I feel. great great job!

this game is flawless, great mechanics, great tutorial, very nice and polished feel. will give it a try with controller later on, for me the keyboard controls were a bit hard to get a gasp on, but that's just the lack of my skills, not the game's flaw. i'm soo impressed with this entry, great game!

legends says he plays the game with his feet on two keyboards

thanks for playing the game, glad you found it polished

what a fun game this is, really enjoyed the music and the walking metronome  mechanism is such a nice idea. great job, hope you had as much fun making it as I had playing it. gg!

one of the best take on the color spreading interpretation of the theme I tried on this jam. the artstyle works great with the gameplay and the color mixing is quite challenging. I adore the music, has a great bittersweet vibe to it. great entry!

very nice to have levels and endless option as well, gives the player the option to play how they would enjoy the most. I like the tower defense aspect of this game, although I found it surprisingly hard. nice job!

huge congrats on this game, the concept and the sensitive implementation are amazing. The artwork and the color palette are both lovely (especially love the fonts). I could see this game developed forward such a unique take on the theme and on the disease as well. great great entry!

congrats on this entry, it's pretty well made on it's own as a jam entry but making it in 20 hours as a solo dev makes it pretty respectable! really liked the art and the gameplay albeit not super complex, is engaging enought to play with the game until godot web export crashed my browser. great job!

the artwork is amazing, very nice color palette and pixel art. would love some tutorial, I was not able to figure out how to make the actions work or what should happen really once I clicked on the buildings (are those the regions?) pls help me (and I guess others) with this, I'm curious how this game plays

so many nice ideas, but kinda a hard tbf. love the paint art. the camera movement is extreme that could use some polish, but nice job for your first jam entry!

you put so many well thought mechanics and ideas into this game, honestly great job! really enjoyed growing my cult and defeating enemies and the king. the battles were fun, the music and art really pulled it together. great job!

nice camerawork for the intro (besides going through some heads haha), and great theme interpretation! the gameplay itself is fun as well, but the vibes really make it into a great jam game as a whole!

this is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen, great job! really enjoyed the gameplay as well, the work put into the small details really made the game original and fun. such a nice entry!

it's such a nice and kind game. the fight system is sort of a potion management game, but the fact you had a nicely told story and created an atmosphere speaks volumes. nice job!

really liked the music and the vibe of the game as a whole. it's a smart implementation of the theme. did the tree got slower as it health depletes? it felt like that and to be fair it was kinda making things go down pretty quickly for me, but managed it way better on my second try. had fun with this one!

thanks for giving it a try, glad you had fun with it. see you on the leaderboard soon!

woow, great job! after reaching that highscore to get into 3rd on the leaderboard I'm not surprised the theme stuck with you haha. thanks for playing our game!

cheers! really glad you had fun with it, that was our main objective

thanks for playing the game! we included in the GDD that the game considers itself a hot seat multiplayer game, so go for it, it works great that way!

the obstacles only affect the trucks health, we would not dare to mess with a spreading JCVD, but there are some repair buffs to pick up. thanks for playing our game!

the online leaderboard is legit, get on it and give it a try!

very nice art and animation, really enjoyed the dash-mouse trap hyper jump as well. to attack felt a bit slow but that's not really is an issue, just a preference. to be fair i really missed a map or some more recognisable objects around the map though to help me navigate or to give me some direction for the cheese. it's a beautiful and nice entry nonetheless!

love pico-8, played tons of games on it and this one is super original and gorgeous, love everything about it. looks great, plays great, sounds great, be super proud of yourself, such a gem this game is.

as said before, the art is indeed incredible. I drew bunch of pixel art fire sprites for our game so extra credit to where it's due for that not really fun task to be done so well. I also really enjoyed the well balanced tutorial levels and all that comes after. great great jam entry!

I'm in awe, soooo much polish went into this. the mechanics work great, the gameplay is very original, the experience is fun as hell. such a great entry, congrats to all of you!

couldn't figure out level 9 but such a nice game this is, really like so many things about it. the music is so chill, the spread mechanism is fun to think through. the art is cute and works great. very nice entry, congrats, had heaps of fun with it!

i'm a simple man, I see pico8 jam entry, I play. great flappy bird-like, very nice art and gameplay, especially love the unapologetic screen shake! congrats on you first game,  such a great start!

such a stupid game in the best way possible. would love some help to see where my spit will end up but had great fun with it even though I couldn't finish it.

such a nice take on the vampire survivors genre. connecting the mushrooms really made this game I only missed the lack of buffs or debuffs after a while, but for a game made in two weeks it's great fun. if you could add some variability to the gameplay I would legit play it heaps. congrats!

very nicely balanced and thought out game, had fun playing it. really appreciate the scope and how you made it work,  from the polished difficulty system to the secret nose poking. great job!

spoilers below:

thanks for playing with the game and for your feedbacks. so the idea of the gameplay loop would be to keep Heaven and Hell balanced. eg. if Heaven's score is around 75, Hell should be around -75, etc. every character has a score according to their traits, and that score adds to the value of Heaven and Hell, to where you send the soul. so if you send an overall -8 valued soul to Heaven, Heaven would lose 8 points. but if you send the soul to Hell (the right decision), Hell's score receives -8 (they go negative direction). the main reason the visit Hell or Heaven mechanic is to check how the score is, and try to figure out, what could be the right balance. probably could have explained it more, but tbf wanted to give the players the liberty to play the game as they wish and don't feel they have to make right decisions. to extend that if you finish the quest lines, you have the option to side with either Heaven or Hell as an extra victory condition, I'm very sorry you came towards an immersion breaking error. we'll look into the bugs you noticed!
