Cool game! Pretty hard though. But still good job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Making the progression a bit less steep might be a good idea ;)

Submitted

wow. You make a unique, easy to understand, hard to master game. Good job!

Developer

Thank you!

Really cool idea! I had fun!

Thanks!

very cool game! I liked the difficulty curve. When placing a tile inside of the player, he often gets boosted up at high speeds, which is satisfying but kinda op. Also I got to level 56 but then placed a tile so perfectly inside of the player that it launched him upwards at such a high speed that the camera just got stuck and now I'm doftlocked as the player is nowhere to be seen. But still very fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback!

The railgun mechanic definitely needs some tuning, to make it a bit less op and avoid the softlock, but we also really want to keep that satisfying feeling 😁

Pretty fun idea and nice visuals, good job! Kinda wish you could move the platforms with mouse, because it gets really finicky with small ones, but that's just a nitpick.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

Mouse controls are something we're thinking about, we'll see if we like it after the jam 😉

I really like this reversed icy castle, great job, and the animation of entering the castle is so good

Developer

Thanks!

Yes, that zoom is... something!

Doodlejump where you place the platforms - nice idea

Developer

Thanks!

hahahaha really fun game, I just realized I'm the real noob :D

Amazing idea, well implemented, controls can be improved but really good game in 48 hrs

GGs!!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot!

Yep, controls need some work, glad you enjoyed it anyway :D

Damn those noobs. Still need me to make the game harder? Can't they just play some Dark Souls, get good an come back? xDDD

That was a nice entry mate! The bounciness of the knight feels really good and the tile placement mechanism is pretty self-explanatory so, it really feels nice when you catch the knight with a good angle to launch him in the sky! The slowmo feature really helps to achieve your job! The Artsyle is also on point! 🤝

Well done! 😁

Developer

Right? Why is it our job to coddle them!?! xD

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

Love accidentally building a little chamber for my guy so he bounces rapidly until he instantly flies off into the heavens never to be seen again 11/10, amazing art, music, and game design. Genuinely super fun physics and great mecahnics.

Thanks a lot!

i'm very not good at this, but it's fun! i love a little anxiety with my games, hehe.

i've seen a few takes on being the dev instead of the player, but this one is nice because it also feels kind of like a reverse doodle jump kinda thing, where you're moving and placing platforms instead of navigating through them. the art, and *especially* the title screen, is great!

my only complaints are 1) as someone else mentioned, not being able to put small platforms close enough to the edge sometimes, and 2) i was expecting the intro splash screen to fade away on its own, so i sat there for a bit before pressing anything. that's the tiniest of nitpicks though. good work on this!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

The close-to-the-wall thing is definitely something we will think over (as pointed out in other replies, it was intentional, but it seems to frustrate a lot of people :P)

And having the splash-screen auto-fade after a bit is also a good idea!

Submitted

Wow what a great entry. Good presentation and a lot of fun. Only issue is that I couldn't go super close to the wall

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Yes, we wanted to avoid players designer putting all the platforms next to the wall because it would be too easy, ;)

Great game! The description hits too close to home right after the Jam. Loved the aesthetic. Well done!

Developer

Thanks!

Ooof, never has a game premise been more relatable than right after a  48 hour Jam. Very well done!

Developer

Hahaha yeah, guess it is kinda meta :P

Submitted

wow the level of polish you've achieved is amazing! i really miss arcade style games and this really hit the spot

Developer

Thanks!

This means a lot, we always love to hit the spot!

Very solid arcade game. Charming art and good music. Gameplay is very fun, but can feel a bit buggy sometimes, I feel like the knight sometimes bounces multiple times off the same object. Ive had a bounce take me up like 4 screens which felt inconsistent with most other bounces. I wish you could build more to the side cus my knight was falling straight down the edge and i couldnt really do much to hit him out. Also it would be nice to have a quicker restart, since going back to the menu is unnecessary. Other than those minor issues, its a lot of fun! Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

The quick restart is definitely something we should do, and the collisions/bounces also need some more fine-tuning!

Not being able to pace platforms too close to the wall was done on purpose to increase the difficulty, but we probably need to work on that some more :P

This game is very fun for me, I love the boing boing of the knight, with how bouncy the knight is. I can even cheese it in a way where it is bouncing between 2 things and u can make it fly all the way up. I see this as an intended game feature AHAHA. Although I didn't reach the end, till level 30, (curious how many levels is it for ending) I would love to try to reach it if I have the time for it. Game was very fun! I also find the game to be creative, I feel if this game was just a ball or slime and you're putting things to make it go up, it wouldn't be as fun as this knight boing boing its way up of the tower to reach the top. I like how they are also bugs that spawns that makes it harder and the lava going up its amazing although it doesn't make sense (everything doesn't have to make sense). I definitely love the music choice and the sfx of boing boing. Initially the art style and title didn't really caught my eye but now it's like, I really like the concept art of the main menu. I think it is very well drawn. For game assets, I find them very cute ahaha and its like this odd contrast of cute and metal music but the colour scheme makes sense.

Overall, definitely one of my favourites that I have played for this GMTK :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback!

And yes, the railgun thing is definitely  a bug intentional feature!

The in-game bugs are the kind of stuff that happens when you only have 48 hours for a game ;P

The score needed to reach the ending is ....

Happy you enjoyed our game!

Great art! A new twist on a tower jump game. Pretty challenging :-)

Developer

Thanks!

And yeah, easy is no fun ;P

Loved the choice of music. And really polished art style. Good Job!
