How does your game fit the theme?
It's like Snake, except you play as the Pellet. Additionally, the role of the snake as an enemy and friend are reversed, as not only is it a threat, but it is also your only defense against other enemies.

(It deleted my comment because of connection issues but whatever)
This game is so good! I love the art, progressively harder gameplay, and multiple music tracks! It was a bit strange to freely move around the grid map while almost everything else was locked to rigid movement, so I wonder how the game would play if you were locked to the same grid as the snake. This is a fun game regardless though!

This game is so good!!

Awesome entry! This is really clever twist on a classic game. I like how you introduced extra dangers for the player to dodge.

I could see this being expanded upon. There's so much more room to do creative things with this game.

Excellent work!

Very good game design. Reversed Snake plus extra enemies. Only got to level 13 :( But i'll try it again to see what happens at level 15.

This is a really fun game, the graphicsh are also realy nice.

Altough the sounds are a bit minimalistic everything else is amazing.

This could be a really fun mini game type project.

Good job!

The game is great! The progression feels very good and the game becomes more difficult as you play with more enemies and stuff.  The game is super polished and the music and sounds were very good. It was really fun to play and very well made for 48h. Congrats!

Great game concept! It feels so finished for a jam game and is a lot of fun!

I sadly wasnt able to get to level 15 so I might never know what happens (I don't have a lot of time, need to review a lot of games) But I will definitely add it to my addictive game jam gems and try after the rating is over!

Great game!

And also thank you for the comment under our game, means a lot to me !

Great work on making a game that feels complete and is fun. Love the different sounds and the different mechanics to make sure the game gets a bit harder as you play on! Well done.

Really fun and polished game. I made it till level 8 on my first try! It is a bit challenging, but in a really satisfying way. Having to trick the snake into eating the environmental dangers is brilliantly done. The snake AI itself is also responsive enough that our manipulations feel like they have a measurable effect. Overall, solid entry that I really enjoyed.

Extremely polished and really fun. I unfortunately wasn't able to get to level 15, though I only tried a few times. I might try again after the ratings, if only to see what's at level 15 ;) The only thing I would like to see is an option to use arrow keys to control, which I find much more comfortable than WASD, but it's not a dealbreaker or anything. Great work on this!

Nice game. I see it has some potential. I enjoyed streaming it.

Having the snake eat the bugs is a nice spin on the concept -- adding another dimension to the gameplay like that was a great idea! The art is really good too! It feels a little bit slow to get started, but really nice work!

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I wish it was just a bit faster or had a quick-start mode of some sort. During testing it scaled up a bit toooo fast so I tuned it down at the last minute, might have been a bad call. :)

PS - If you eat all the bugs, the game immediately advances to the next stage and you get a point bonus. So you can get through the early levels quicker if you play aggressively!

I had this on my idea bucket before I made my game. So happy to see this in execution and in an actual game. It was everything I imagine and more. Great job dude

this game is sooo addictive. some of the best raw gameplay I've seen all jam. super fun take on a relatively simple concept and super polished.

When I first learned the topic for the game jam one of the first things I thought about was reversing a bunch of classic arcade games. Snake was definitely not one of them, but I’m glad someone thought of it because this is a great little concept that goes beyond just being a mere novelty thanks to some really clever design. I love how the snake is a constant source of danger, but also your only tool for getting rid of the bugs which also pose a big threat to your life. Really solid submission that definitely deserves some love. Also, well done getting this done in only 11 hours, if I’m understanding the submission time right? That’s some seriously impressive dev speed!

Haha, I wish I could finish this in just 11 hours. Itch reports the time of your first upload, not the final one. I put up my first build of the game on Friday just to make sure I was exporting it correctly, then updated it closer to the deadline. I was tweaking right up until the final minutes. :)

Thanks for the comment!

Ah, that definitely makes sense. That’s a good strategy and one that I’m sure would have saved a lot of devs (myself included) from some last-minute panic.

Cheers!

The idea was pretty simple but the implementation is so good! All of the different bugs as more obstacles to dodge made the game increasingly interesting and difficult. I especially love how the "main antagonist" is instead used and directed by the player to eliminate all of the bugs. This was a really fun game, although I don't think I did very well at it I kept dying soon after multiple snakes were introduced.

Very addictive! Super fun!

Brilliant idea, good art style, nice sounds. Great job. I think after the jam you can add a feature to make the enemies kill each other or make the snake bite itself.
Great job!

Nice job! The game looks, sounds, and feels great. I think a game that did the basics of reverse-snake would have been fun, but adding the extra layers of depth of other bugs you have to deal with or avoid really made this one something special. Great work!

Neat concept with a solid implementation! I especially liked the scale up in difficulty over time. Nicely done!
