Very interesting and unique game! Art very good. Presentation and gameplay can be improve. It would be nice if there was music and sounds. Tutorial and full screen fix pls.

Took me a few tries to fully understand it but look at me now! They can try to rig it, but they can't hold me down, I'll quickstep them and star jump straight into the sun!

This is pretty darn sweet, it's a beautiful educational game ! I'll be passing this on to my son to help him practice his math :D Thank you for making this, the artwork is pretty simple, yet it works great. Maybe some sound effects would give it more oompf, some spice, but in the end this isn't really a big issue. The game needs an elaborate tutorial, maybe a youtube video could help where you explain, but then again you've clearly put a big effort in the itch page. Great game ! Thank you

Rhythm game + deck builder, never knew such a combination would work SO WELL! Had a lot of fun playing it, partly because I love timing based (rhythm) games. If there were more content, levels, and some new mechanics, this would be a perfect game for me to play in the weekends until I clear everything xD

10/10 would play again

I win) Nice game, sad for music and sounds are missing. But still nice, very original. Its godot, why you didnt publish it as web?

Here is bug here: cards stacked on screen when I hold them...
Developer (1 edit)

Thankyou!

Honestly, its my first release and the web build wasn't working, didn't have time to fix it. Will definitely try again though

Did you do anything in particular to cause the bug?

Submitted (1 edit)

Just hold the card and drag, nothing more.

Interesting game. I don't fully understand the way it works but I get the overall concept. I like the combination of a card game, rhythm game and a little bit of math. The art is good but some sound effects would have been nice.

Neat concept, though it played out very differently thatn I thought. I was considering trying to combine rhythm game and deckbuilder a while ago, but didn’t really have any ideas how to make it work.

This is definitely an interesting take on the concept! Not sure if I’d call it either a rhythm game (since it’s more about single button timings than about rhythm) or a deck builder (since there is zero deckbuilding involved), but I feel like the core gameplay could be extended upon.

Right now, the game is pretty hard to understand, even with the demo gif. A short explanation of what happens would be nice, could even be in text form on the itch page.

Props for making a strong thematic connection between card names and their associated routines! Nicely done.

Developer

Thanks for the honest review!

yeah the lack of tutorial really hurts the game, since the mechanics are a bit complex, but I did my best to write up the rules. I actually went back and added some tutorial gifs, hopefully new players will see them!

Yeah, trying to find the niche is difficult... Another comment called it an assault course game which is weirdly accurate. I did plan on adding a deck building aspect (hence the deck button) but I ran out of time to even implement more card types. People seem to like the game, though, so I guess thats the next step if I keep going.

Card + rhythm game was a concept I made on my previous game and your execution was definitely better than mine, there was some problems with the numbers I guess but it was a pretty fun game and really really cool concept. I hope you have the time to develop this further and for now I'll add it on my collection and wait for future updates! GREAT JOB!

Submitted(+1)

The game is interesting but the game really needs a tutorial, otherwise people won't know how the inputs work.

Submitted(+1)

A very interesting combination of cards and rhythm! One thing I'd suggest is to mention somewhere that the number starts from 1, I was confused at first when my +3 gave me 4, and maybe tune the controls a bit, because I got double-inputs which ruined my score. It is a fun concept, would definitely like to see this again with more polish!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the great feedback! Tutorial is definitely the first thing im working on when I have time:- the double input thing is happening because I wanted to add a 'on release' mechanic to the 'hold' card, but I definitely need to do more to convey that to the player (currently the only indicator is a small upward arrow)

I like the mixture of card game with obstacle course (not sure if this is the right term). The player ends up building the level they play, which has so much room for expansion. Good job!

Developer

Oooh i didn't think of it as an obstacle course but thats far more fitting than just saying 'rhythm game'! Thankyou ^^

Excellent game! And I'm not just saying that because our game is similar xD
We actually almost went with stickmen for the art-style of Results, Please, and if we had we could have said that these two entries happen in the same universe.

Ohhhhh, ive been getting more convinced to try and make this a full thing - I'll add an easter egg for you guys if I do!

Thankyou for coming over and playing, means a lot!

Submitted(+1)

If (once again hopefully when) we do the same with ours, we'll definitely try to sneak in an easter egg for your game as well!

Submitted(+1)

Quite fun. The game definitely became a lot easier for me once I realized the arrow loops back around the card (and that I wasn't supposed to press every result on the first loop)!

Submitted(+1)

Really good idea, I was pretty terrible at it, but did better on my second go, tutorial would be useful but your game page guide really helps. I like how its timing based,  I definitely messed up due to hitting space twice a few times which is my fault.  Great submission

Submitted(+1)

Interesting concept, I like the idea. It would have liked some sound effects and a tutorial but it's a game jam so it can't be perfect.

I had a good playing the game so well done!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the idea and the stick man drawings! This game has potential, great job

Very unique and creative. Love the puzzle element of lining up potential point amounts and then trying to adjust on the fly if you make a mistake. Woud love to see some audio implemented. Very nice~

Submitted(+1)

A bit hard to understand, but it's very cool !

Submitted(+1)

I really like how you have to perfectly time atleast one card no matter what you choose
