How does your game fit the theme?
Instead of playing completed microgames like in warioware, your job is to set them up for the AI to play. You want them to fail for you to win

Wow this was difficult, the concept was fun! Great work!
Very cool idea, good job!
realy fun
As a fan of WarioWare, this game is a great homage! I did run into a bug where on replaying the 5 to Win mode, the levels started to run into each other and not actually play out completely. I think they were still simulated off screen because I was able to win, but I ended up not getting to see most of the computer's turns.
Overall though this is a really polished WarioWare game with some fun little minigames and of course basically infinite room for you to expand it in the future!
Nice job!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I might polish up this submission from feedback and make a game from the ground up with the same concept but without Bario to keep the Nintendo ninjas away, with PvP and lots of microgames hopefully
If you're curious on the how that bug might have occured I think I encountered it once before in testing, I got it on the chest game if you have no items in the chest when it changes phase, I made it so you auto lose if you have no chest items at the end, but I presume you came across a similar instant win/lose that messed with the loading of levels so you had multiple loaded asynchronously at once
Tldr - stoopid bug happen probs when win/lose during loading animation of Ais turn
Sounds like a skill issue on my end ;)

It's WarioWare but with a twist. While the game loop is understandably limited, the AI implementation is very impressive! In 48 hours they made not 1 game, but several! That is no small feat!

It was a fun collection of mini games. I think the reason WarioWare was so successful is because it was a party game. You did a good job of recreating the experience, especially given that the AI had to play against you. Nice job setting that up; I don't imagine it was easy.
EDIT - Giving 4 stars because holy heck that AI design was impressive!
[ + + + + -] :: CREATIVITY
The overall idea has definitely been done before, but each individual game was fun and interesting. It's probably a good thing that I've never played WarioWare or I might have docked another star XD
What I'm saying is that it seemed creative to me.
EDIT - Added another star for great creative implementation
[ + + + - - ] :: PRESENTATION
Given the style you went with I think you presented the elements well. I liked the music, and the audio prompts. The menu felt like it needed a theme though.
EDIT - I would give this 3.5 stars if there were partial stars
Thanks for the mega review! I was looking forward to this, your reviews actually led me to playing your game originally. I'm glad you felt I was able to recreate the Wario Ware style, I'm glad you had fun with it and I'm happy you enjoyed the music, its actually the only piece of music I've ever made, I used LMMS to make it. Just to clarify on the game concept as you mentioned it's WarioWare with AI, the main twist of the game and interpretation of the theme was to allow you to setup the microgames, normally in WarioWare the microgame is hidden behind a stylized loading screen where various things are randomised and then you just play the microgame. In this game the main concept is to allow you to do that setup and try to make the "player" fail. The AI itself while a big part is mostly to allow jammers to play the game during submission, PVP would have been a goal if I had time.
I totally understand about the PvP aspect :)
Did I give you a 3 star for creativity? How rude XD
I'm updating it to 4. I wanted to praise your efforts on the AI and the setup somehow. I did this review at 4am and I was tired lol.
I've updated my review. Thanks for giving me a behind-the-scenes look at your work! That always impresses me about gamedev. I hope my edits didn't hurt the integrity of the review for you XD
haha you're all good! you can vote it whatever you like :) just wanted to clarify since you said you hadn't played WarioWare before, thankyou for upping to a four anyway though!
I was so excited when I saw this one. WarioWare is by far one of my favorite game series and this concept is brilliant.
Of course, with the 48 hour time limit, I imagine this was quite difficult to implement, but I got a lot of enjoyment out of it nonetheless. You did such a good job at getting the general feeling of WarioWare down in terms of the gameplay. I like the visuals for winning and losing a lot, they're quite fun.
Only real critique I can provide is that I do feel a more fitting song could've been picked, something a bit more chaotic to match the general feeling of WarioWare. But that's just a small nitpick.
Overall I adore this game! Great work! I'd love to see you to work on it further with more microgames!
I'm glad you were excited to dive in, I'm a big fan of the series as well I'm looking forward to the new switch game coming out and hoping its like smooth moves. I also love WarioWare DIY which was a big inspiration. The win/lose screens were the last things I worked on as I tried to give it a bit of personality so I'm glad it came across. Yeah I agree with you about the music I just picked out the only song I've made to save time I knew it had build up moments but in traditional WarioWare this is short fast music beats when you return from each minigame and then the minigames themselves have their own music, but even just picking a better track would have gone a long way. Thank you so much!
Very cool idea, and you managed to get that Wario-Ware feeling of not knowing what to do the first time around, but doing it fast anyway ;)
The AI seems a bit weird on some challenges, but for 48h that's to be expected.
Thanks for playing! Glad you felt I achieved the WarioWare feel :) Yeah there's definitely improvements to be made to the AI to make it way up decisions, its a lot of random and for the chest game predetermined drop points, there aren't as many checks and decisions its doing as there could be.
Good idea, unfortunately I felt the games like the chest one were too unforgiving, and in the Find The Ninja game, the computer instantly spawned their flashlight on the ninja three times in a row for me... Cool art and presentation, but not something I'd play without retooling and extra games added. I'll follow to see if you do anything more with this game, nice effort for the jam.
Thanks for playing! Yeah the chest one I kept forgetting to move the items on the left of the screen to the right hand side, I think it would allow you to maybe get 4 or 5 items in the chest making it a bit more balanced. I think the cursor in the ninja game should always spawn in the same position but its possible theres a bug with it, it would be better if I'd had random cursor start points but shown this in the setup phase, maybe as a transparent cursor because you're right its not going to be fun if it spawns on you. Il definitely look to add more games in the future and Il follow you back, follows seem very difficult to get on itch, so I appreciate you doing it and being interested in the project. Thanks for your feedback!
This game was so much fun, especially because of how good the AI was, and how quickly it was able to beat you in some games, and how narrowly you were able to beat it in others. Some of the minigames were a bit easy, especially with certain tactics. For instance, in the balloon popping one, I found if you just move one balloon to each corner, the AI has no way of reaching them all in time. The chest one also had some problems for the AI, but none of the minigames had any problems which massively took away from the experience. Overall a really fun and interesting game.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah the balloon game was the first one I made I think it was victim of me having to move the camera further back for webGL size to work properly, the mouse moves in world space rather than screen space and I think it made it slower than it was in initial testing. It would be cool if it sped up if a balloon was far away and then slowed down to accurately click it, I wanted to add some curves into the AI's movement as well to make it look a bit more human. Yeah the chest one was difficult, in that one that AI will move the chest lid if it falls so low, and then with items it will choose the top item so it doesn't just launch all the items out, but this doesn't work great with longer items like the sword where their center is quite far from the end of the object, or certain rotations since it has a preset drop point. I'm glad they didn't take away from the experience and il definitely look to make improvements to it in the future :)
I didn't expect it to be this fun! it is pure madness, my only criticism is that the minigames are not balanced and some are too fast.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it :) I definitely agree about balance, which was too fast, the chest one?
Very fun ! I loved the minigame with the ninja, it is very stressfull
Thanks! There were a couple times when testing where the timer was almost up and I thought I was safe and it just swooped in at the last second, I think if I added a jumpscare noise if you got spotted it would be pure nightmare fuel haha
Got confused by the games at first but after I understood what to do it was fun. Nice idea :)
Thankyou for playing! Yeah there could definitely be more help when you first start playing, theres only some rough text for the tutorial
That was quite fun ! Took a while to figure out some of the minigames, but hey, that's the WarioWare spirit x)
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you felt there was some WarioWare spirit!
Hitting a grandma with a car has never been so satisfying.
I love WarioWare so I definitely loved this reversed roles! I'm amazed at your AI that you were able to accomplish the jam period! You did a super good job at creating a fast paced and anxiety inducing environment and staying true WarioWare :) Only suggestion would be to maybe include some code to not allow the player to do the same two games for the first four levels. For a second there I thought there maybe was only two minigames 😅, but then I got the rest! Also! Some music for the main menu would assist in giving a better first impression upon opening!
Overall though, you did an excellent job at reversing the roles for this game! Really enjoyed it. :)
Thanks for the great feedback! Yeah I think it would be good if the longer you don't play a minigame the more its chances go up, currently it just prevents you getting the last game you played. I'm glad I've hit the niche audience of grandma car accidents lol! Glad you enjoyed it, yeah menu music would be good!
Interesting concept! Took a while to figure out controls for some of the minigames, so maybe a reference with instructions for interacting with each minigame or a bit more time to experiment at first would be helpful.
Thanks for playing! Yeah I agree, I was thinking maybe a shader to show what's interactive in each phase
So many mini-games against a bot for a game jam, nice work !
Thanks for playing! :)
Super fun!
!!!! So creative!!!
When I saw the premise, I was unsure how it would be executed but in the end it was actually a really great effort!
Also, I love how instead of just using darker colors for the shading, you use dithering. Really gives me WarioWare DIY vibes.
Would love to see this refined and expanded on. Like, for example, making the AI learn your patterns.
All in all though, great game! Hope you had fun making it and participating!
Thanks! Yeah it was difficult to come up with microgames because I wanted their to be enough to do on each side, so some microgame ideas I just couldn't work out how to flip them, thanks the art style came about from time constraints and WarioWare style, I used asespetie and all lines were done with a high density spray tools, and the in built dithering tool for a lof of the backgrounds! I love WarioWare DIY it was definitely a bit of an inspiration, used to love playing my games on DS and then transferring them to the Wii. That's a great suggestion, I've also seen PvP thrown around as a cool thing to add later, il definitely look at both. Thankyou again :)
Cool idea! I'd love to see you expand on this. :D Bario is Bae.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad Bario is getting some love I'm not sure if his name subconsciously comes from Budget-Wario but he doesn't need to know that
Nice! Loved the minigame frenzy, and unique concepts for minigames too due to the player-computer format as opposed to the normal one. Played each game 2-3 times. The chest one is IMPOSSIBLE for me haha! Must have been a lot of work to program the AI for some of the games. Very fun!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the concept! I appreciate you trying them multiple times :) Yeah I wanted to move the other items in the chest game to the right but ran out of time, I think if they were on the other side you could probably get 5 items in the chest which should increase your odds
