Great game! The story was really funny and made a clear goal. The art is good and made it quite easy to find the objects you could interact with. I wish that the game had more sound effects though. Anyway, I liked that you knew what the true story was to make it easier to cover up. The way the game fits the theme is great. Good job!
Hey, thanks! We had a whole framework for sfx in already and even put them into the game, but one of our teammates had git issues that weren't resolved until like 15 minutes before the deadline so we lost all the sfx haha. Thanks for playing!
This was a really nice game! I don't know if I won or not haha but it was fun!
Maybe there could be an indicator (like a checklist) with what they have discovered so far or a bar where you can see how close they are to find out the truth haha!
Really great story and concept! The music was well picked and the art is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!
I am so in love with this and it's amazing what you have created in only 48 hours!
Great game! Loved to play it! Congrats on making something so cool!
Thanks for playing! You "win" if the newspaper says nothing about a Wikipedia page :) There should actually be a checklist in the case file with "X"es on the left side that tells you what evidence the detectives found so far (6 embarrassing or 3 framed evidences or 10+ turns will end the game). But yeah, making that more clear and having specific pieces of evidence on the case file would be nice! We thought about it but ran out of time haha
Our artist was the only one on the team and was grinding it out, idk how they did it!! I'll pass on the kind words to 'em. Once again, thanks so much for playing, and I hope you had fun!!
Fantastic idea, and very funny implementation of it! The newspaper articles were too good, and I won’t spoil anything for other players, but the game title drop caught me by surprise xD
I wasn’t able to figure out what caused the game to end. One of the times I played, I had set up 3 clues to frame the wife, but the game ended before they found the last one. It sort of felt like there was just a set number of turns, but that wasn’t indicated anywhere. The only other suggestion I have is that it would have been nice if the zoomed out view also included the modifications you had made to individual rooms. There were a few times that I clicked into a room because I was like “oh no the roller skates!” and they were actually already taken care of (by me like 2 turns ago).
Overall, fantastic job! It really felt like a professional point and click adventure but with one of funniest premises I have seen.
Thank you so much for playing!! And yeah, other than the endings mentioned in the case file, surpassing a certian amount of turns does trigger an ending. But other than mentioning that breifly, there is no visible turn counter, which would've made this a lot clearer (was next on our list of feature implementation, but unfortunatley we ran out of time). And the modification list is a really good idea! That would help a lot, right now the only indication of wether an item has been modified is the hover effect which could be tedious to check. Thanks so much for all the feedback! :))
Very neat! I love the artstyle and story concept. Having it be turned based was a really cool idea. I would have liked a bit less handholdy interaction descriptions, as I think it would be a bit more fun to figure things out on your own rather than tell you what object causes which person to get suspicious. The detectives already say who they are suspicious of when they examine an object, so it would be a cool sense of discover to hear them say it rather than tell you upfront. The ending is a bit abrupt and after playing twice im still not sure what triggers it, probably just a certain number of turns but theres no feedback for it. I still enjoyed the game though, it was neat. Good job!
Thanks so much for playing!! And yeah, we had a bit of struggle trying to strike a good balance of difficulty in terms of player deduction vs the game giving hints - we decided on this level of difficulty based on very minimal playtesting, so this is totally something we could improve! Also, the endings are determined by the amount of different types of evidence found by the detectives - this is kept track of in the case file (accessed on the left side of the screen) - we could definetly do a good job of being clearer with the case file (both how to access it and how to read it properly). There is also an ending that triggers if you surpass a certian amount of turns - which is probably the one you triggered. A visible turn counter was next up on our list, but unfortunatley we ran out of time - this would definelty help with the confusion though. Thanks so much for all the feedback!! :))
Yo!! This is crazy awesome! I love thinking through all possible ways to alternate the crimescene so that the embarrassing reality of his death isn't known. Great job!!
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed !! :))
that was super cool and engaging! one of my favorites during this game jam :)
i love how you can play it several times and every time there is a different story created. the art is also so professionally made, and i love how you can feel main hero's emotions and embarrassment :)
one remark i would probably like to make is that the cross button probably doesn't associate with the map so much - maybe some kind of a map icon or so would be clearer.
great entry, much fun!
Thanks so much for playing! Very glad you enjoyed!! And yeah, given more time there are definetly some UI elements we wish we could touch up, the map buttons being one of them - thanks for the feedback!! :))
The game is really cool! I like the style the game is going for, and it's interesting to see the endings of the game. Nice!
Thanks so much for playing!
Oh my god, I never would have thought I'd see a P&F reference here, and not just any reference at that! XD
The concept of the game is really cool and so doofy! A bit too random to my taste since you don't really know what or where the inspectors are going to look into, but good fun nontheless.
The art style is really unique, and you can very easilly tell what's on screen.
Great job to the team! =D
Thanks for playing!! And so glad you got the reference LOL. We wanted the movement to be mostly random to give each player a difference experience each run, but totally get how that could be too random and "doof"y ;)
Love this idea! Th aesthetic is so cute and fun, a really nice colour scheme to this type of game, very bubblegum grunge. so into it! Great job on submitting a polished game
Thanks so much!! Bubblegum grunge is such a great choice of words omg :))
Love the idea of covering up your own embarrassing death! Even moreso having the investigators on my tail the whole time just created a more intense and fun environment. I ended up just luring them around the whole time and my death went unsolved 😮💨. I loved the art and point-and-click style game. The music was fun and spot on as well! Definitely one of my favorite games I've played thus far! Great job :)
Thank you so much!! So glad you enjoyed :))
Wow this is a really unique game! I had fun piecing together what was going on and doing the distractions, the case file was really useful for figuring out what to do, great music and audio style
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :))
The premise of this game is hilarious, I love the idea of trying to hide the way you died because it was too emabarassing. The art style is really distinctive and the game does a good job of making it clear what you can interact with, I love it! Also, Kashmonai is a hilarious name 😂
Thanks for playing!!! LOL glad you appreciate our genius naming expertise ;)
Great idea, was fun to get all the endings! Would be nice to have more depth to some of the coverups, but still the gameplay was tight.
Definitely liked the art style too, felt like a a children's book in the best way.
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!! Totally agree that some of the evidence connection could be more fleshed out haha
What an original concept! I really enjoyed playing this. The wife ending was definitely my favorite.
We're so glad you enjoyed our game! Thank you for playing :)
This was a very unique entry! I managed not to let to news know of my hyper embarassing death! I do wish it was a bit easier to lose though, I was actively trying to throw on my second run and I found that the detective was quite... stupid, lol.
Great job, keep making games! The art style is very cool.
Thank you for playing, we're so glad you enjoyed our game!
Actually, we did originally make it much harder to win, but then it became nearly impossible to see any of the other endings, so we decided to make it easier! Thank you for your feedback :)
