The visuals are amazing!! Well made.

Thank you very much. I am glad you enjoyed it.

Nice colour selection for the background and UIs. Also the gameplay felt fun to keep playing. I like how you set-up the main menu as well. It has some mysterious look. Also the physics of the balls could be a little bit faster imo. Nice job!

Feel free to hop into my game as well and share your thoughts and ratings if you have the time!

Developer

With such feedback, I surely did <3  Thank you for posting.

Didn't expect the concept to vow me, but I, like, really dig it yo. Feel like Fruit Ninja with the focus on being fast and accurate and having tons of stuff flying at you from the sides of the screen.

I really like the shield mechanic punishing you for babysitting the cursor, but I wish the balls were thrown in such a way where it complimented this mechanic. When balls are lobbed high up into the air, it give you time to line up a shot, which makes the shield a great mechanic, but it doesn't work if balls aren't thrown as high or are spawning at the top and are falling straight at you. I also wish balls that got bounced from the shield also disintegrated or something, so I know I've lost my chance at getting points. Sometimes they also auto-aimed at your hoop and I have no idea why.

Aside from that, all it really needs is some synthwave and maybe come fancy backgrounds and you've got a great time waster.

Haha, you surly know. I have left feedback on your game as well :) Quite a nice CTF take.

This was a lot of fun! I found there to be an issue with the physics where some of the balls would bounce off the protective sphere and then plummet down really quick. It didn't effect gameplay too bad but broke the immersion a bit. Other than that this is a solid game! Congrats :D

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you played and have decided to post about it.

Fantastic ideas and great presentation! I would suggest to have some designed pattern for the ball generation (for example a bunch of basketballs fly up  in same trail) to add more fun

Gavri_el, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I will consider them and give them careful consideration.

Its a fun short game!

Visuals are great! Thanks :)

Developer

Kerious, thank you for your appreciation.

I completely missed that you had to stop moving for your score to count. T-T I was super confused at first. My second try went a whole lot better, though I always forgot what each color of the ball did- maybe more power-specific indicators on the balls would help! Like a clock on the +time ball, flames on the frenzy ball, etc.

Developer

Thank you for featuring me!

Sometimes it can be tricky, but I appreciate the feedback.

visuals were great, maybe some music but game was fun overall!

Developer

Thank you for the positive feedback! I agree that the game could benefit from background music and sound effects. :)

Frantic,  fun, and strategic!

Could really do with music and sound effects. Not being able to move the basket at all if the mouse is at the edge of the screen feels weird and makes low balls annoying to get. Other than that, the idea is really cool and getting the balls in the hoop is very satisfying. Needs some polish, but good work!

Developer

I appreciate your constructive feedback, and thank you for sharing my game live.

Nice mechanics, I really like that you can’t just go and grab all basketballs by dragging the hoop, instead you need to position it correctly to the trajectory of the ball, really clever

Few issues here and there, however I liked the game itself. It fits well in the theme ; and the idea was executed well considering the timeframe.

TYVM, I missed your live review, but thanks for featuring me live.

Nice to find another sport themed game! And a very stylish one.

Cool game idea, even though I kind of suck at it :D

Good job!

Developer

TYVM! Much appreciated.

Cool stylish game. It lacks polish and presentation, but there are some mechanics that add depth to the gameplay and make you play a bit strategically.

while the game is quite simple, it looks nice, it plays well and is very satisfying to land the ball!
the gameplay loops gets old fast though, but overall a very solid entry, good work!

Developer

Much appreciation.

I have to agree with another tester - I would love if you can bump a ball with the shield and still catch it after other wise very nice concept!
also I feel like the swish balls are just not worth the effort to catch them - they have to go in perfectly and only give 2 points

TinYtus, I appreciate your feedback.

One of those where it's really satisfying when you get them going in. Can be quite tricky (even the multiball where you think you'll easily get them but you absolutely don't!) so good challenge, particularly with the shield when you're moving it so it isn't just a case of dragging it constantly and just lining them up.  Can't say I was enamoured of the colours, but it's different and didn't detract from the gameplay. The ball physics could go a bit crazy at times, particularly if they bounce off the shield. This would be great on a mobile phone. Best of luck in the competition!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your valuable input, Kodikos. You are absolutely right about the physics going haywire after the ball bounces off the shield. I need to find a more effective way to render the ball "unscorable/burnt out/disabled" in such scenarios.

It's so easy for a simple idea to have lots of caveats, and when you're trying to do it all on your own in a 48hr window, it is a lot to take on. I think everyone that I reviewed did a super effort on their games. Regarding the idea of removing the protection, it might depend on the direction you want to take it. Arcade games tend to start rewarding successful players with crazy powerups and god modes, so if you did it as a raw feature, maybe building on those pop-up words with other kinds of distracting eye candy might balance it a little. Equally, you could combine it with another disabling feature, like it's slow-mo so it would only work if you were already in the vacinity of where the ball would land. Anyway, don't want to spoil your creative fun.. you got it!
