10 de 10 Gran historia y buen argumento naratibo

Great narrative design! I love the art too. Here's a link to my playthrough... https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1671607757?t=00h37m53s

A very interesting game, the art is great and the music adds a feel of melancholy to it.

Buen juego, la chance de diversos finales me alentó a jugarlo reiteradas veces

This is well done, everything from the art to the atmosphere!

very beautiful art! you have lots of talent not just in drawing but setting the mood and atmosphere. would like to see a longer visual novel outside of this jam

Excellent game! I got all the endings. The music creates a great atmosphere and the graphics are absolutely outstanding.

Nice art:)
I guess it doesn't matter what I do I will get the Game Over screen?
At least I ate that sandwitch :D

I couldn't win even once... But the arts are very beautiful and the story has a subjective development, I like that!

Hey Strange Girl! This was an intense experience. The art is wonderful and the music fits well for the theme. I love the premise and the execution. The game being short in length is perhaps one of its strengths- it sticks to the core essence and does not feel like it is being dragged unnecessarily. I tried out all the endings and they are all quite moving. I cannot think of anything to suggest since it is already pretty great. Nice work!

Developer

I'm glad you loved it! The premise is something I've known for a long time and only recently came up when I was brainstorming for this jam. Even I was surprised it worked out in the end!

I got all of the endings. Neat idea. Nice!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

How is this allowed lol you can't even finish it in 20 sec, well I guess anime girl = free from rules

Cute game! I enjoyed playing it and getting all the endings :)

It definitely engages with the 20 second theme differently than most other entries, which isn't necessarily bad. I have a couple suggestions though:

- The text scrolling speed could be faster (maybe 2 or 3 characters per frame). It's already pretty fast, but it would be nice if you could read all the text in a 20 second play through.

- While reading the other comments, I let the game play and noticed that the music has a slower section that I didn't hear during normal gameplay (due to beating the game fast). It'd be cool if there was a way to hear it sooner, maybe through some dynamic audio. Just something to think about!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the suggestions! The text speed is definitely something I should work on. I'll also try to do something about  your suggestion on the music part. Again, thanks!

The story is genuinely interesting. The art is so well-made, I love it. But sadly, the game doesn't last for 20 seconds. Although I do understand that it's just a game jam. It just feels unfair that other games that don't last for 20 seconds got disqualified, but this game doesn't get the same treatment :/

Developer

My game was originally immediately got disqualified. But after a couple of days of exchanges with the jam's hosts and a few requests, it was allowed to be added back into the jam's index since technically you can finish the game within 20 seconds by simply skipping the "novel" part of this "visual novel" game.

Jam HostSubmitted (1 edit)

It was a very debated thing, and yes, it was immediately disqualified at first.

This is a lax jam in terms of start time and content reuse so there’s very little we have to determine if a game was even made for the jam or not, or if it’s someone just submitting any old project and not caring about the jam theme.

Unfortunately, we’ve received dozens of such entries and had we not had some enforcement you would now be seeing a flood of low quality, irrelevant entries burying the hard work of people who actually did make something for the jam.

This game was ultimately allowed back in because it was very clear that it was made for the jam, was a product of significant effort, a responsive author, and had positive feedback from those who had already played it.

We are trying our best to be as fair and evenhanded as possible while preserving the integrity of the jam.

If anyone feels their game was unfairly excluded they have been invited to come discuss it with us, and in doing so we would be strongly inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

So far, no one has

HostSubmitted

As Strange Girl mentioned, the game was disqualified initially but we allowed it back in after some discussion. The game was made for the jam and while there is no 20 second limitation in the gameplay, the developers did attempt to make the game playable in 20 seconds and display a timer at the end.

Our intention is really only to disqualify games that make no attempt to engage with the jam's constraint, not to make judgements on how well a game satisfies the constraint (that part is up to you, the players, commenters and reviewers). The reasoning is that the jam should be friendly and low-stress for all the participants and we don't want people worrying that their game might get removed for some minor reason.

The games we removed from the jam were, for the most part, obvious spam. In cases where there is some doubt, we messaged the author to notify them that the game does seem to have any relation to the jam and gave them the opportunity to make changes. In some cases they did. In many cases, we did not get a response.

Sorry for the long post :D

I like the graphic art and the minimalist mechanics of this game

Very different style from the other submissions, was cool to see a story-based game here.
