The idea of a virtual OS is quite nice. Just looking around the computer was quite fun already… The success/failure message of the quest could be a bit more obvious… or maybe a real popup dialog and/or jingle would help too…
But good job with this interesting idea!
Oh this is a very nice idea. It’s really cool to just explore your game as an “open world” and see how “life-like” it is. It’s just for that alone a cool thing you made there. Very well done. And for the game-part: Cool idea implementing “quests” in such a way. I didn’t like the network settings quest, though, as typing the stuff in wasn’t any fun for me. I always skipped this quest by waiting. What i really missed in general was a sense of reward or achievement. I noticed the green lamp, but with this alone i didn’t feel appreciated enough. :) Still: Well done and i love the pixel art! <3
I see. Yes, i imagine i would have liked this. And with this virtual currency i would be able to buy stuff online? Like online in your game? Exclusive Wallpapers? Cool tunes? New games, especially such that are not corrupted whenever i download them? ;)
I am thinking about While True: Learn(). Do you know this game? There you could buy decorative things with your money for your virtual workplace. I guess i would have liked that a lot. Thanks for telling!
I know that game. I played it for a few minutes because it was free on Epic Games Store, I believe.
I was wondering if I should make it so that you could buy games (at a verified ;) store) with that virtual currency. I don't mean some complicated games, but maybe something like Cookie Clicker clone or Snake clone. Those games that are "currently downloadable" are my old games and they are there only as placeholders, because remaking a 3D game there would be quite hard in my opinion and it would slow down the speed of the game.
it’s a pretty creative concept! the Status indicator is not very visible, perhaps a better form of feedback to the player would be better when they completed the challenges, may be a check for each task and a sound effect to mark the completion of the quest, it makes it more satisfying that way too. other than that, it’s quite a unique and well-implemented simulator, well done!
Hello! Thank you for your feedback. I must say that you are right about the skip button. I'm aware that repetition is a big problem, but I didn't manage to add more challanges, so after a few minutes the player won't avoid doing the same quest twice. I definitely want to add a couple more quests and other features in the future.
