Really cool and stylish looking, also very nice use of the theme, the main mechanic is very interesting, good work!

Wow! This was a fantastic entry in such a short span! I would've loved to play this together with a friend, but the single player was still good. I had a really hard time getting past that part with the laser moving side to side and the three gates for my little spherical friend.
This is just awesome. Like really fab all round. Super impressive, one I had seen a bit of before the jam finished and was super excited to play. Loved it.
Really fun short game, I liked the sense of collaboration between the two characters, and the single player mode is really appreciated. Did not expect that last level twist, loved it!
Good use of theme. I like light and glow stuff as well. Dynamic first level tutorial is great. Also final segment was nice too. I'm not sure if I cheesed it or intended but after dying the first time in the final segment I could jump along the top and fall down directly to the end.
Cool game you made ^^ Nice use of the theme as well :)
If you polish up a bit the controls I think you could make a really good puzzle games, the rail robot could give you lots of possibilities for different puzzles. The use of the lantern was really good!
One suggestion I'd give you is maybe add a bit more weight to the wheeled robot so it feels nicer to control, especially If you make more levels with slopes in it ^^
And another thing is, just so you know, first I had the game in windowed mode, just as it comes when you click on play, and when I made it fullscreen it got a lot easier due to having a ultra wide screen. I was able to see almost the whole level, which I thought was nice, but maybe not intended for you lol (Nice job overall :D)
Thank you for playing!
The controls need some rework. they work but don't feel great. I am thinking of changing the approach I have the the wheel bot. Right now it's physics based (A bit like a car) but not sure it was the way to go for it.
The screen size is a good point thank you for making it. Yes it's a bit easier on wider ratio. That's a problem I need to think about. I made it work for 4/3 and wider but for sure having a wider screen makes it easier. I need to think about a way to solve this issue if I continue working on it (Not sure how yet :D ).
Good points thanks a lot ;)
Things I liked
- I like the concept of completing the puzzles that involve the usage of more than just one entity.
- I liked the 2.5d effect, those types of visuals can look great.
- The theme is clearly communicated in the gameplay.
- I really liked the background art. It meshed well with what I'm seeing.
Suggestions
- Spacebar to jump. I know a lot of people prefer different setups to their keyboard controls (i've noticed some of that may be related to games played on emulator), Up is fine for a jump, but I think spacebar is more intuitive to a player
- It may just be the web player and/or my crappy connection, but the movement looked and felt a little stiff. Not as reactive as I expected.
- The top unit's controls felt a little wonky. I wasn't entirely sure if I was I was doing the movement or it sometimes decided to control itself.
- In general, game jam entries are best suited to be focused on single player only. It's cool and ambitious to consider two player mode, but its not something I would consider implementing for a game jam entry because you have to think about both the player's experiences.
Overall its a neat concept, and I haven't played any games in this jam that use more than one entity to solve puzzles. Congratulations on your hard work and submitting to this jam!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Controls in general need a some rework I agree. Web gl doesn't help but I think in general there is improvement to be made. For the wheel bot I think the approach I tried was wrong. It work but doesn't feels satisfying to control it. For the rail bot I think it's mostly fine tuning it would need and making a special control for the last level. Instead it should place the light where your mouse is and not the bot.
Great ideas and suggestions!
Fun puzzle game but one suggestion i have is maybe to split the 'E' button into different button like maybe 'Q' for the wheel bot, 'E' for the rail-bot and maybe space to follow because it can be hard to tell which mode you are on or like what I often did is to over toggle and need to press 'E' a lot of times.
Interesting idea. I had the reflection to maybe bind 1, 2, 3 to switch modes. Could be a cool thing to add to make switching quicker. Yes knowing which mode was selected was a bit hard. There is the light switching color on it but some people missed it so it wasn't very obvious (and not super color blind friendly) .
Great idea thank you for the feedback.
I really liked this game. Which makes the few things that I found annoying so irritating lol! Like i said, really fun game, especially the end, I though that transition was awesome. I can see a version of this game with the rail-bot having a ton of abilities.
Ok, so, the annoying things.
1. please please please make space a jump key as well
2. The wheel-bot felt a bit floaty. Maybe just an increase on the drag, some gravity adjustments when it comes down
3. The last level, maybe let the rail bot move slightly ahead of the wheel bot.
Great game, thanks for making it
Awesome I love the comments you made tones of cool UX improvements ideas.
1. That's funny cause I said exactly the said thing about an other game that didn't bind the W key for jump, I exactly get the feeling. It's something I will do all the time now to bind both keys.
2. The wheel bot controls are are not great. I tried to make a physics based character (A bit like a car) but that's not what people expect when controlling a character which gives a weird feel to it. If I had to do it again I would have done it differently.
3. I wanted to force people the use the rail bot on this level force them to use both but maybe could have been a two player only mechanic and have the bot in front for single player. I should have made an other movement for this level that makes the light easier to place with the mouse. I get there could be some frustration trying to place it.
Thank you that was great feedback tones of cool things to improve if I continue the game!
It looks great. Your use of lighting makes this visually awesome.
The single player is great but I can imagine how great this would be as a co-op game.
Great job!
I am kind of blown away by the art/presentation! Great solution for single player too.
This was a really fun game. Presentation was top notch and the game felt intuitive even on single player where you control both bots. Great job with this!
Thank you :) . If you are talking about the railbot it's not super precises' to my taste. If you talk about the other bot it's a little too heavy. I tried to do something physic based which caused it to have a lot of inertia. I needed this for the big jumps but makes it a bit harder to control. Definitely something to improve here.
