Nice little adventure game, enjoyed the characters! Would benefit from some more challenge to the combat parts.

I usually don't enjoy puzzle games, but this one was good, and despite the already mentioned issue of restarting at the beginning, I decided to power through and free Ze! The level design was a good balance of simple yet challenging.

The artwork stands out with this game, and the character movement is smooth and reliable. Only suggestion is I'd re-think the controls, as W is commonly associated with 'jump' in platformers, so muscle memory sometimes kicks in and leads to mistakes. Overall great work!

Yeah Felix got stuck, the door closed and his legs were in collision with the top right corner of the door. Walking animations worked fine, he just couldn't move!

Great idea! The shoot/kick combo adds a nice twist to the combat. Those cups of tea got what they deserved.

There's a lot of ground work that goes into these games so great job getting it to this point! Some clearer instructions on what to do would be helpful as I couldn't figure out how to make money, so just built up a town til I ran out of cash. The pixel art looks great, and I can see this being an interesting game with further development.

The look of this game makes a really strong impression, and combined with the audio effects it makes for an intriguing environment. I was in the mood to explore, then got stuck in a conversation that took too long to get through IMO, so I'd my feedback would be A) trim the dialogue and B) speed up the load bar at least 5x so the player has the freedom to skim-read through it. Also, whilst the gameplay makes sense for this theme, if you were to expand on this project I'd suggest focusing on the player's freedom to explore and interact, because it's currently an intriguing world that you can't explore without a phantom  jumping you after a few seconds!  Great project though, very interesting!

Thoroughly well executed, you did a good job on the game feel, and the simplistic art choice works perfectly for this type of game.

Brilliant work on the audio! Well polished overall and an interesting freeze mechanic with the ice creatures. Found a bug btw, one of those creatures followed me to the door with a timer, and I decided to stop and wait to lock him out. There was a collision between the door and Felix, which stopped him being able to move. An ironic twist on the freeze theme, perhaps?

Yep, I know that feeling! One tip is to be selective with what you buy early on while prices are low, to give you something reliable to build upon.

These visuals stand out as being exceptionally well polished, and the clouds at the start make a strong impression that this is a game which has been carefully crafted. I also like the creative approach to some of the UI design.

You did a great job with the fire animations, and the movement felt good. As Axel mentioned, Z key wasn't intuitive for WASD, maybe also giving E the same functionality would be a solution. It's also a hard game to figure out how to play, so some hints or instructions at the start would be a good addition.

Nice game design, and having realistic cards combine to defeat frost cards enables the story to be told through gameplay. The game naturally becomes harder as frost cards deplete, making for an intuitive difficulty curve. The art style does well to capture the atmosphere of a medieval time.

Slick animations and the art style plus the environment bring the game to life. The SFX are great, just one observation is that the sound and animation of the attacks feel like they should be doing more damage. The combat is good and the freeze mechanic keeps it interesting!

The game has a nice balance between hectic and relaxing, and does a good job of capturing the cafe ambience. The level of complexity in the drinks is enough to be mildly challenging without it becoming stressful.

The use of freeze adds a fresh take to this genre which I haven't seen before. The gameplay is fun and well presented.

The freezing enemies mechanic makes for some interesting gameplay techniques, because you can use them as either a weapon, or a barrier. Nice work!

Made some progress but didn't reach the end! Great work, the level of polish is very impressive - especially the UI and artwork.

Big fan of this, reminds me of the fps game XIII with the level design and the sense of mystery. Would be good to see some more use for the handgun in future updates.

The gameplay is smooth and fun, the controls are well assigned, and the visuals/sounds do well to enhance the overall game feel. There were times I found shooting enemies to be impossible without taking damage, and perhaps an alternative defence mechanic like strafing or shield would be helpful in those situations.

The system for aiming could be improved, but there is a lot of good work done on the puzzle design with a good variety of mechanics, and the visual style works nicely.

The characters and squid poses are great, also love the intro screen animation! I can see the logo/character design being used for a commercial game. Gameplay is difficult for a noob like me, and I'd probably consider the two lanes to be worthy of a higher difficulty rating, and have regular difficulty be just the WASD keys.

It's fun to play and has the right amount of player control whereby it's not too easy. The rounded ice bumps could be more forgiving - and maybe some kind of checkpoint system would prevent repetitiveness, but overall there's an impressive amount going on here given the time frame!

No worries! Clearing him is reliant on the double jump, here's a playthrough in case you were wondering:

Thanks! There is, there are 5 hostile rooms, which part did you get stuck? Might upload a playthrough vid soon

Amazing environment though wasn't clear where to go for a while. The directional dots didn't lead to any obvious clues. But the game was creepy with a lot of atmosphere. I only got as far as the mountain top, because the game froze twice as the spikes appear. Overall though a great entry!

Very cool! I didn't figure out that the 3x3 grid hints were the order for the safe til I watched a playthrough. I'm not the target audience for puzzle games however, and for those who are, I'd say it's a well designed puzzle. More input feedback on the buttons would have improved my chances of solving it, as I wasn't sure if clicking them was making anything happen. Great job on the visual style!

Visuals are impressive and interesting, just needs to be more intuitive and self explanatory as to what the player's objective is

Haha very nice, it's all about the green combos! Sounds like there's a bug, thanks for letting me know!

Thanks a lot, yeah the straight sides were added as a balance feature because the game got way too easy without them, something I'd like to refine in the future

Fun metroidvania that does the basics well. The Tetris-style ability inventory seems very unique, and I'm sure there's a ton of potential for that to be expanded in a commercial game.

Visually representing the equipped weapon with a colour glow is something I haven't seen before, and it works really well! Nice grimy atmosphere to this game too

As it's made with GameMaker, I wonder if it's to do with the randomize() function? If you are using that, make sure it only occurs once, in a create event at the start of the game. I had a similar issue with randomness before in HTML and that trick fixed it. Good luck either way!

It's a really simple game but the personality and quirkiness, as well as the unpredictability of the environment, make it a lot of fun to play!

Very nice game with enough components to keep each level fresh and interesting
