Wow, cool visuals, really set the mood, even though there is no sound. The gameplay is addicting, a bit hard to grasp at the beginning, but once you find your footing, you will have a great experience, nice job all around!

Definitely one of the best games I played for this jam, I found myself really getting into it and learning what the dice did to strategize how I use them. I also love the art for the game, and it's amazing you did most or all of it during the jam. One thing is though, I noticed when the opponent is getting low on dice in a round, it will put out fewer if any dice, which could mean having to destroy your own die if you put a fire die out on a round that the opponent does nothing, and sometimes the score would work a bit weird. In a round I just played, the opponent got +45 in a single turn because of how the scores multiply?
Thanks a lot for the kind words and the feedback! =D
For the art, it's most: the gods illustrations are free images. But the screens, transitions, dice and menus were made by the designer of the duo, he thanks you too ^^
Yeeeeah, 'bout thaaaaat... ^^'
The AI is very wonky, and ironically enough, the more broken dice it has, the more broken it becomes, for reasons that are still unclear to me (and I coded the thing '^')
However, I never got the case where it would just play nothing, now that's new! XD
For the score, this is intended! Doubles count twice and triple thrice. A score of 45 means it played triple 5: (5 + 5 + 5) * 3 = 45
This is to encourage strategic play: since a power removes a battle slot, only two 5s and a power would score (5 + 5) * 2 = 20 (instead of 45 for a triple) BUT you get to play a power.
It's all about balance between destruction/protection and score: if your opponent has a Fire power available in his 5 throws, going only score might be dangerous. But he might only bluff to get you to play an Earth die for nothing while it banks a huge score. So what to do? (at least that was what we intended, if I had time to implement a better AI)
Thanks again for the feedback, glad you liked it! =)
I thought the visual design was awesome, and the concept I thought was interesting. The amount of content you've packed in is impressive!
It felt like I didn't have many options, especially in the first match with nothing to stop the triple fire dice
Well done!
A nice concept! The implementation of the battle log was a good idea as it helps understand whats going on! Nice job!
I think the presentation could be improved with more sfx/vfx, but great game overall!
Nice art style, but gameplay is wierd. But idea is still good! Very cool work, man! :D
Very good work for 48 hours. Your game some looks like our game, but your game more polished. Respect
Maybe I wasn't understanding the mechanics, but the game felt a bit flat to me and I ended up just picking the largest numbers and winning consistently. I also couldn't figure out how to use the forge.
Unfortunately, the game can be very confusing because of the lack of player feedback...
As for the forge, you need to sell a die to make room for a new one, but again, there's no real indication that you need to do that. '~'
Sorry you couldn't really enjoy it, and thanks for the feedback, I'll work harder on that aspect for next time!
Thanks a lot! =D
I'm glad the thing people seem to like the most is the strategy aspect, since we really wanted to make something that was more than just "Select the highest score to win"!
And about sound design, with all the people that told it was lacking, I will make it a higher priority for next time. I really wanted to add some, but unfortunately time didn't agree to that -.-'
But otherwise, I'm glad you liked it!
Awesome visuals, could use some music and sound effects tho.
Mechanics are quite interesting, it often puts you through hard decisions like risking high value dice or having to sacrifice points to destroy powerful dice of the opponent. Also since dice with attacking powers also give you no points, regular die still serve a purpose even late game.
also like how if you hover over a die while it's rolling the info box also rolls with it :D
good game overall.
(a two sided die is NOT a coin, don't let them tell you otherwise)
It's not that it could use sound design, it's that it really lacks the one we wanted to add! ^^'
Sound design and in-battle feedback are the two biggest problems in my opinion, because it makes the game confusing at first. I'll make them a higher priority for next time.
This is exactly what we wanted to achieve! Powers are importants, but they cost you score. For a power to be viable, it has to make up for what it costs you (for instance, a Poison roll can remove up to 6 Score, which may have been better than your roll for this turn. And if the opponent has a 1, it can even make it negative!), so that victory by score would always be an option, and not just something you do at the beginning and let go of when you have all powers in your inventory.
We also wanted to make the player able to choose an opponent die after a victory, so that total destruction may come at the cost of a powerful die you might have wanted.
... You know, we discovered that "feature" like half an hour before we posted the game. We were so tired it made us laugh for a solid minute, so we decided to keep it XD
Thanks a lot for the feedback! =D
(lies, lieeees D:)
