This was one of the best games I've played for this jam. The dialogue managed to keep me thoroughly engaged and I liked the twist at the end. Music and graphics were also great. Well done.

Really nice idea and execution. Reminds me of an old Scooby-doo game I played as a kid, to the point where I thought you would do the same trick they used and just make the murderer always be the person you chose. In the majority of cases getting to the real answer would require more than one playthrough, and clicking "start game" again after getting to the end doesn't actually reset all the dialogues. It played the starting maid dialogue but after choosing a dice it continued with the last visitor.

Thank you so much for playing, and for bringing this "restart game" bug to our attention.  We'll make a note of it our page!

Wow what a twist it went from fortune telling to L.A. Noire real quick. The best game I have played in the jam so far. I am also in love with the art syle. This much story in a jam game is just mad. Btw could you tell me the font you have used? I really liked it.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing, and for the kind comments!  Glad you enjoyed it!

Most of the font is Yoster Island: https://www.1001fonts.com/yoster-island-font.html

That's charming :)

Got to the third guest, the audio is playing from the left channel mostly. Thanks!

Developer

Thanks for playing and letting us know about the sound issue!  We’ll see if we can fix it after the jam.

This is kind of therapeutic. The music is nice and calming, decisions do not have to be made on the fly, all you gotta do is just relax and tell some fortunes.

Developer

Thank you for playing!  Glad you had a calming experience. ;)

A very creative little game. I did manage to get the correct final answer my first try, but I wonder how other people could get it without the very specific choice I had made with the person in question. The fact that you can only get a subset of the game's dialog each playthrough, as well as what you can choose from being random, seems like a weird choice. I did enjoy the game overall, though.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing and for your feedback!  We’ll keep it in mind for our next jam.

This was really cool! I played the game twice to get the full story, which felt really well-developed, especially for a 48 hour jam. Great work!

Really clever idea, good writing, and a nice visual style. I think it worked well as a bite-sized jam piece, but I also feel like the core idea has legs enough to grow outside of the constraints of the 48 hours. Overall excellent!

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I'm definitely interested in exploring this type of game format more, so I'm glad to hear you think it could be expanded upon.

That was amazing to play. I really thought it was going to be the husband if I am honest. Guess I'll have to replay later to figure out who it was! -Kaylee

Brilliant. Great story, fit the theme well, and a satisfying ending too - provided a complexity I wouldn't expect from a 48 hour game jam! Music and art was overkill at this point, really nice.

I don't think I chose particularly well in terms of earning money... but I somehow was correct with my guess at the end so I'm happy!

the story was quite good with quite a bit of variety but after a bit, the game got stale due to the repeating of some things. music and graphics were great and it was a creative idea.

This game's presentation is amazing. I love both the music and assets; it's hard to believe it was made in only 48 hours.

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the music and assets!
