definitely is fun hitting the dice full blast and seeing how far it goes. It's like other golf games I always stink at putting haha, so I would say it's an accurate representation of the game. I also loved that the golf course was just one big open world. I had fun speeding to the next hole to crash into the dice

Developer(+1)

glad you liked it!

Submitted(+2)

I LOVED IT. I could see this becoming a full game with some work. It gave me golf with your friends vibes and I could just imagine playing this and raging at it with my friends great job!

DeveloperSubmitted(+2)

The primary Dev and I are entertaining that idea. no promises though! ;)
(I don't actually make the game. I make sfx and music... but rest assured I'm interested in doing more for this project)

Submitted(+2)

the sound was great looking forward to see what you do with it😁

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

thank you! :)

Developer

I’m so glad! I’m seriously considering making a full multiplayer version of this. Depending on how well it was reviewed when we get the results back will make or break if we pursue it as a full multiplayer game

Submitted(+1)

The game kept crashing on my browser (Chrome), idk why :(

But I got to play enough to see it’s a very fun idea and great execution! Congrats!!

Developer

Thanks! Sorry about the crashing. You’re the first to report that

Hilarious game idea, I loved it. The music is an absolute bop. Great game!!

Developer

thanks that’s all @bronsonbragg!

DeveloperSubmitted

thanks Pebbs!
It'll be on spotify asap. :)

Submitted(+2)

Hey! I too made a golf game! Yours is more polished though :)
Yours is a lot of fun! I think if I could make one change it'd be to make the ball a bit lighter so it would travel further in a single hit.

Developer

thank you! Great minds think alike!

DeveloperSubmitted

or...  hear me out... what if the golf cart had dice-seeking rockets that you fired to give it an extra boost?
lol! kidding. I agree with you.

Submitted(+2)

Awesome small game! I really like the mechanics and movement, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

97 points. I got stuck in the hole at one point lol. Fun little game

It was also cleaver making CTRL the drift key in the web version so when I try and press it and D to turn right at the same time, I add your game to my bookmarks 😉

DeveloperSubmitted

Thanks, PC-hris! :D

Developer(+1)

haha 😂 didn’t even think about that

Submitted(+2)

Haha! This is a fun interpretation of the theme! The driving physics are fun (it's my favorite part of Rocket League) and I can see the benefit of using a die to play because it lands on a flat side and can then be easily aimed at. I do wish that there were more opportunities to drive quickly because that was my favorite part. Sadly, I don't think the randomness introduced by using a dice over any other cube made the game particularly more enjoyable, but there were a lot of touches to your game that showed consideration, like the camera of what side it would land on and the compass above the golf cart indicating where to go. I used the "R" key a few times and it helped from interfering with my experience when I got stuck. I can tell that more time was put towards the programming than the art, which I think turned out to be a good decision, despite the unpolished look, because the product feels good despite not looking perfect. :) I only wish I'd been able to hear the music. 😭

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

did you adjust the sound from the menu? you can turn the sfx and atmosphere down all the way and crank up those tunes!
btw!... I'll be uploading every song I made for the game jam onto spotify pretty soon here. :)
I was a part of 2 teams so there's a good amount of music to share.

Submitted(+2)

Oh, cool! I'll try that. Thanks for the tip! :)

Submitted(+2)

I got a score of 46. I think this is the new rocket league.

Developer

Haha! Thats a massive compliment. I would like to think so.

A really nice and challenging golf game, I'm not much of a driving game fan, but for some reason, I liked the controls on this one.

I also love the "follow the cart to next hole" mechanic, as it adds the feel that the whole world is interconnected.

Congrats on completing the jam !
(Ctlr + Shift + W on Chrome closes all tabs, have accidentally pressed this while drifting :P)

Developer(+1)

I found out about that after publishing the game :(  I will definitely not use CTRL in and shift in the same game anymore. Lol. Sorry about that!

The random ovation from the crowd after a bad hit from my part made me laugh

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Yeah I cracked up on that, too.
It was designed to only happen when you get a 1... but I think he ran out of time. (I made the sfx and music)
If I pull up the file and isolate some of the lines of dialogue there's some funny stuff. "These pretzels are making me thirsty." "is that bob barker?" "I eat pieces of s__t like you for breakfast".... things like that.

Developer

Haha I didnt even catch those line! Thanks again for the audio!

DeveloperSubmitted

It's unlikely you'd be able to hear them in the chatter... but they're there. lol!

Developer

Haha thanks! I just made the ovations random for the sake of time. Wish I would've gotten around to programming appropriate reactions for appropriate hits

Quite unique take on the theme, simple and nice concept. The mini camera set on top of the dice is nice. The car is a bit hard to control, but overall nice work.

Developer

Thank you!

This seems like the start of something with potential. The idea of bopping around a die with a golf cart is unique and pretty interesting, though I'm not big on the actual usage of the number on the die. Just having your score be influenced by the number the die lands on means no matter how good you are at the game, your score can always vary dramatically based on chance. I think it would be better if your score were just the number of strokes taken, but the number on the die modifies some other parameter of the game that you could always skillfully act on while still being different enough that not every time you play is the same.

Enjoyed the presentation; graphics and sound were well done. I did run into some technical issues though. The first time I ran the game it seemed to be infinitely restarting me every time my cart hit the ground. Also, when I tried to start the game again after selecting Exit Game from the pause menu, the game would hang without ever spawning the cart.

Developer

Im not sure if the infinite restarting thing is something to do with the way unity physics work. I experienced that issue to but was unable to figure out the cause. Glad you still enjoyed it though. I like the idea of using dice modifiers.

this game is cool

Developer

Thank you!

This was fun.  I definitely would never make par with this lol.

I did find that I got myself stuck in the hole and it took a lot of effort to get out with the stuck button but I did eventually manage to make my way out of it.

I found it amusing needing to drive to the next hole, like you would with a real golf course lmao.

Developer(+1)

Glad you were able to get out. I should have not allowed the cart to fall in but I ran out of time.

Submitted (1 edit)

19-23-8=50 Could probably have done better if I realized that I could jump earlier :P Very nice that you have to drive to the next hole yourself.

Developer

Really good score! Good Stuff!

Submitted(+1)

stuck in a hole)

Developer(+1)

Sorry about that! You're supposed to put the ball in the hole not the cart haha!

Favorite game so far of the 25 or so I've played -- got a 47. I think the die should be slightly larger because it is a little annoying to accurately hit.  Also, the game world is weirdly staggeringly large outside of the main path and it was fun to go exploring in the hills. Is this the power of procedural generation?

Developer

Wow that means a lot! I also have thought about increasing the die size. Wish I would have done it before submissions. And actually the world is hand crafted using unitys Terrain Builder. I should have left an easter egg around the world somewhere lol

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game, I like the hard to learn, but fun controls! It was really fun lining up the shots and seeing where to go! I also really like how the path for the next hole and the dice were very easy to find! My best score after a few attempts was 46, trying to get a better score is frustrating and fun!

Developer

That's a really good score! Good stuff! Thanks for the feedback.

Submitted(+2)

It was a fun game, reminded me of Lucioball or Rocket league. The controls of the cart took some getting used to, but at the third hole, I got a hang of it. It would be nice if the player had some way to control the angle and/or force of the hit, this way the hit roll was kind of random. It was also not very clear if the goal is to score as low as possible or as high as possible. I liked that you used your own art and music in the game, the audio was great :-).

Developer

Thank you! I did mention lower was better in the tutorial screen, but I should have made it more clear!
