How does your game fit the theme?
The Follower is a horror/puzzle game where the enemy is your biggest light source in a dark maze of corridors. You depend on this enemy to get around, but you also have to be careful near it, as getting too close to its light will get you killed.

Production value is really high and the graphics are blazing, yet the main character moves very slow and the game crashed multiple times.

Sorry for not getting a chance to play your game during a stream but I am running out of time and had a hefty amount of games to get through so I am just playing and rating at this point! Thank you for your understanding :D

The concept behind the game is really interesting, but I don't understand how it fits the theme.

The game is really scary but fun to play, the puzzles make you think, but after some time they get repetetive. I would suggest adding some more elements like you did with the card and the gate to make new puzzles a little different.

There is a bug where the lighting gets messed up for one frame after you restart a level, but that is hardly noticable and doesn't break the game or anything.

Overall an amazing entry to the jam, though I wish it fit the theme better. Great job!

This is a really cool take on the theme, love the concept of both needing to avoid but also use your enemy to succeed. Although, the game could use a bit more explanation of some of the in-game mechanics, when I first came across the "call" function, the item on the ground that told me about it I thought was like a phone lying on the ground, had no idea I could just yell at the monster and was mighty confused about how to complete that level till I discovered I could just walk by the monster without ever activating it. But, once you actually figure out what's going on, it's a really solid puzzle-thriller, you did quite a good job of building up that tense atmosphere. Seriously well done!

Oh my god that was terrifying! (Granted, I'm an absolute wuss when it comes to anything remotely scary. haha!)

I was stumped on that last level, but I think it was because the Call action stopped working or something, so I restarted it and it worked.

There was one level where you never even needed to call or even get near the bad guy in order to escape. Was this intentional?

Well done on your game? My only feedback would be it's on the right track, just add more sounds and mechanics. Nothing else I would change or take away.

Very interesting mechanic. Loved the atmosphere and visuals. That is a scary ass light source. Great jam game for sure.

This is really cool! It reminds me of Dark Echo.

Wow this was quite scary, especially when I triggered the follower for the first time. The music and the sound effects really contribute well to the horror. Definitely left me with questions about what the follower is and who we are.

Mechanics wise I think calling the follower was a pretty good mechanic. It seemed like you only ever needed to call the follower once in a given level but I think you could design levels that required calling the follower multiple times.

I think it would have been cool if there were some levels where the follower patrolled on a fixed path so you had to do time when to sneak past. I'd also love for there to be some unsettling messages -- perhaps documents dropped by former scientists at the facility or something.

Cool concept! I've barely seen any horror games in the jam, and I think with the music and atmosphere, you games manages it very well.

At first I thought you had to fuse with the lightbulb guy, you can imagine my surprise when he straight up devoured me. xD Great idea and as others have said the atmosphere is really well done.

Well thats a cool concept I have never seen before XD

No besides that we had the same idea for our games a little bit, I think you did a great job and it wasnt to hard like my game. Also you introduced the concepts like the key card step by step so I could follow along well.

Very cool game and great work!

Really thick atmosphere! I love the idea of the player being dependent on the monster, it really adds to the stress of the player being forced to engage with it on way or another. You could expand on this by having certain objects or obstacles that only the monster can reveal to really emphasise the mechanic. Really cool submission!

Great atmosphere, however the game is quite easy by ignoring the enemy. This could turn into a really cool game with a few changes/new levels where you have to use the enemy's light more!

Move over Metroid Dread, Enedee beat you to it.
