Beautiful art and music, the controls feel nice! I enjoyed it and also look forward to playing new versions of it in the future!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you found it enjoyable! An updated version will be out soon!

Very solid and well polished game! Has a nice professional feel to it, starting from the logos at the beginning and the GUI integrated into the game world, ending with awesome music and art!

I really enjoyed the docking mechanics in games like Elite, so it’s nice to see a whole game built around it!

The restart bug is unfortunate, but I totally understand, my game has a broken Windows build due to the last-minute upload. :-P

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thanks for checking out my buggy game, THE0R! Elite was definitely an inspiration for the docking and general direction of the game!

Also, it is nice to know someone else shares my last-minute upload pain! XD

Submitted(+1)

This is a very nicely polished and enjoyable little game, with a few bugs that unfortunately take away from the experience. The music doesn't stop when it restarts, so you end up with music looping over music the more you play. There is also a bug where the game just...restarts? But, having said that, the actual gameplay is fun and interesting, and your way of doing menus is great! Looking forward to seeing a more polished version of this.

Developer(+1)

Yes, the problem is the restart sequence. I added it in last minute, and it is totally broken. The restart button is invisible on screen, but still active. If you start a slide by click on the invisible button, the game will restart! I have a full bug breakdown in the games description, if you want to see a full explanation!

Regardless, thank you for taking the time to rate and comment!

Submitted(+1)

Ah yes, have just seen this. Was too excited to get into the game. Will take a look again when the game is fixed.

Developer (1 edit)

No problem! I'll look forward to your feedback, as there are plenty of other issues!! XD

Submitted(+1)

Controls took me awhile to get used to, but it was still fun to fly the little space ship and hopefully not slam into a rock hehe Awesome job! :D please check out mine when you have time~

Developer (1 edit)

Slamming into rocks is definitely a problem right now, and I am figuring out a solution in a fixed build. Thanks for stopping by!

Really brilliant game concept! I really like the feeling of the momentum of the spaceship. It was so much fun! The artworks are very good and the music is just perfect! I especially like that how you guys integrate the main menu with the game mechanic itself. I really wish I could meet that mysterious final challenge myself, but that restarting bug keeps me from doing that, which is really unfortunate. Anyway, this is a really fantastic work for 48 hours!

Developer (5 edits)

That's what I was going for! I wanted to create a  really polished game in a short amount of time, and I am happy with the way it turned out! Thank you so much for leaving a comment and rating the game!

As for the mystery, I can't reveal my secrets.....

Submitted(+1)

This is very fun, the thrusting mechanic is already well polished! Cant wait for the improvement after the jam, I want to have the full definitive experience of this game! Really2 stellar work! :)

Developer(+1)

I honestly can't believe it worked out as well as it did! Thanks for dropping by!

Submitted(+1)

Very well done! =D The bug is really unfortunate but good thing you warned us, I still kept clicking there but that's my fault I guess^^"

Developer (2 edits)

No, that's on me. I just didn't test the package properly before uploading. If you ever want to give the game a bug-free whirl, I will be uploading a fixed version after the jam. Funny enough, it was a one-line fix......

Nice little game! The ship physics are really nice! Great job.

Developer(+1)

A comment from you is an honor, JustWingitIt! I do believe your game will be among those featured in the GMTK 2021 video! Thank you for taking some time to play my game and leave a comment!

Really good job on this game! Unfortunately the lower part of the screen had me reset the game a few times by accident, but apart from that it's a really nicely controllable space game and a lot of fun! Good work!

Developer (4 edits)

Thank you, CroSnake for stopping by! I am still a bit bummed about that bug, but people seem to still like the game in spite of it!  I glad you found it enjoyable as well!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah not the worst thing in the world, just an inconvenience since I didn't know about it at first - when I found out I was more careful. But nice one!

Developer

Thanks, CroSnake!

Your game's presentation, music, and feel are really great. I love the concept behind your tutorial, and how seamless you made your home screen, being able to jump to the tutorial or main game. Very clever.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, Anxiety Monster! I really appreciate you feedback, and Follow! It means a lot to me!

And you're right! We Constructers need to stick together!

The gameplay is super fun
and the way you incorporated the main menu into the game is just amazing
Really good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, MrMuff! I'm glad you found my game to be FUN! I appreciate the time you took to leave a comment!

Great concept and very well presented. I love how everything starts at the menu options and is merely transitioned by flying from there to the appropriate region. My only suggestion would be to minimize the decay rate after losing the satellite link.

This was great fun.

Developer (1 edit)

I am making heavy edits to all elements of the game, including the decay rate, and I will be releasing an updated version after the jam ends!

I'm glad you found the game to be enjoyable, as that was my goal! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

Cool game, really like the feeling of the momentum. It's a bummer about that restart bug though. Besides that it's a really solid drifting experience and I laughed my first time playing and I ran head first into an asteroid not realizing the station was on the _other_ side of it, haha. With a little more polish this could be a really solid experience. Nice jam game!

Developer (1 edit)

I think we were both just playing each other's games AT THE SAME TIME. What are the chances?

Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

I know this is weird but this game gives me the sense of wonder, exploring space to find rotating geometric shapes. Great work there, really difficult but fun gameplay. Oh and I'm definitely not gonna mention that bruh moment when the door finally opened and it hit the ship into pieces.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

That exactly what I was going for!

I'm extremely happy the game was able to give you an experience of exploration! That makes my day!

And we won't talk about the doors.....

Submitted(+1)

Looking at the game itself (ignoring the bug since that isn't really your fault) this game is super cool. The controlling of momentum is really cool since most of the time games like this are about combat, but this one is strictly about movement. I have nothing bad to say about the game design itself. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, Squid Squad! (Love the name!)

I really tried to focus on the momentum and feel of the ship, and everyone has really liked how it turned out!  I also wanted to create a bit of a different experience from a normal space arcade game, and I'm glad you noticed!

Thanks again for taking a bit of time from your day to leave a comment!

Very fluid and seamless game interface and fun controls! Nice work.

Developer

I'm glad you found the game to be smooooth! Thanks for stopping by!

Submitted(+1)

Impressive functionality implemented (particularly the zoom in/out of the map). Also really like how the level/difficulty select is environmental/baked into the map. Might be worth playing around with the rate of decay on the dock % when the ship isn't present (slowing it down) and/or adding numerical or segmented health to fine tune the overall difficulty rate. Very solid concept :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I plan to expand the game after the jam is over, and I will be adjusting quite a few aspects, including how fast the stations lose connection. Other players have seemed to dislike the lives system as well, so I probably will be implementing a health based alternative in future builds.

Thank you for taking the time to comment!  I greatly appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

I like how fluid and seamless the whole game is designed - and how the music supports this. No menus, no options - just flying and finding everything intuitively. Good job! Now comes my "play alike" - I am a big fan of Kerbal Space Program. At one point the studio (Squad) co-oped with Nasa and introduced challenges for catching asteroids. Your game reminds me of that part - I like it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, Humane Tiger!  I really wanted to make the experience as simple and as clean as possible!

I never played Kerbal Space Program, but I have heard nothing but good things about it! Mabye it's time I finally give it a whirl!

Submitted(+1)

If you like astro-games, orbital mechanics and really tough challenges, you have to give it a try. But be warned. I once found a statement about this game - can't say it better than this: "KSP doesn't have a learning curve, it has a learning wall!" :-) But it is so rewarding digging into it, can highly recommend.

Developer(+1)

I have to check it out now! Thanks for the recommendation!

Also, walls don't scare me.......yet

Submitted (2 edits) (+1)

Nice idea but this game resetting bug is quite annoying ;\

Developer

It is unfortunate that the bug made it into the jam release, but I will be releasing an updated version after the jam if you want to give it another whirl! Thanks for Posting!

Submitted(+1)

Am i the only one who can't land on the gold challenge? lol

My lack of skill aside, the movement is really fun and has a lot of potential! Keep updating this game after the jam and add more contents!

Developer(+1)

Some of the gold challenges are so hard, I can't even finish them, and I made the game!

I do plan to release an update right after the jam! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and leave a  comment!
