I really enjoyed this game.  The progression feels very nice, the goal is clear (you are always trying to get to the top of stuff in games), and the atmosphere is so calming and wonderful.  There are so many cool ways to expand on this, and I hope you get that opportunity.  Awesome job.

Its amazing to see a game like this in a 48 hour game jam. Gameplay wise it doesn't do anything too special but I love the aesthetic. Collecting both halves of the hourglass was pretty cool and swapping between the two mountains felt smooth. The game showed some interesting things that you can do with the mechanic and the fact that it had an actual ending made it feel very complete. Cute little experience. You love to see it.

Beautiful game. Lots of potential in this game. Great work.

Developer

Thanks so much! Yours was super clever as well!

That must have been a lot of work to release in time! It's very beautiful, well done

Developer(+1)

It was definitely a labor of love! Thanks for taking a look, I loved your game too

Really beautiful game, I loved the atmosphere and the exploration, I also really liked the music that starts near the top, it adds some Journey vibe to the game.

The main downside for me was the collision detection but otherwise I really enjoyed it!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! I really enjoyed your game too!

cool idea, and very well designed world. good job

Thank you! Really appreciate you taking a look! I'll be sure to check yours out as well

Such a cool game, it definitely was a good experience! I really enjoyed when the music appeared at some point and it was very lively. The graphics are very nice as well. There are only two gripes I really have with the game, and those are collisions of most of the models which are in some way off, and you stick to walls. Second one is that it was too short! I really enjoyed it, even stayed on the ending screen for too long and got under the mesh of the ocean. Nice little game, good job!

Developer

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah with such a big project in such a short time, we were kind of throwing colliders onto things a little haphazardly. When we give it a little post jam polish we'll try to get the collisions feeling better. Your game looks great too, looking forward to giving it a shot!

5 stars all round! Really similar concept to our idea but loved your art style it had such a high quality feel! Amazing you managed this in 48 hours! Congratulations! If given more time i would love to see more variety with puzzles but found what they accomplished during the time really cool, epic game!

Developer

5 Star!? Thank you so much! We should totally do a collab in the future since great minds think alike, aha!

Submitted(+1)

An interesting game concept for sure. Like others mentioned, the sticking to walls detracted from the experience, as did the lack of any kind of indicator showing "Where am I supposed to go next?" Additionally, it would have been great if there was a mouse sensitivity slider, since I had to change my mouse's DPI just to get the camera speed down to something manageable. Overall though, the transitions between the two islands was pretty cool to see, and with some more work, this could be a pretty fun little first person platformer/puzzler.

Developer(+1)

All valid criticisms and known issues for sure. We wanted to address all of those but there was only so much time in the jam. Thanks for playing in any case. You had a really cool game as well

Submitted(+1)

This was really unique and cool. I loved the setting of the same island but in summer(?) vs winter! The graphics and level/environmental design was fantastic and you made nice use of switching between the two islands.

The only issue I had, which I see other comments also mentioned, is that you can't really hold forward and jump since colliding into a wall seems to set your velocity to zero. I had to jump first and then hold forward at the apex instead. I think all that's needed is collisions with objects to let you slide up them instead of stopping your movement completely.

Developer(+2)

We're gonna fix that jumping issue as soon as we're out of reviews for sure! Thanks for playing and I'm really glad you enjoyed our game :)

I'll give yours a look tomorrow!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! This was so cool guys! It took a little bit to figure out everything but it was interesting enough to keep me playing until I did! I see that you guys encountered the same issue we ran into,  our soul sticks to anything it touches and I realized that jumping up things was a little tricky because I would stick to all of the walls. xD I love the world you guys built and the mechanics are amazingly unique! Great work!

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much! I'll have to check yours out as well. I'm so glad you had fun with our game

Submitted(+1)

:0 I would love it if you can! I hope you love it as much as I loved yours!

Wow, a 3D game made in 48 hours with a lot of details, that's a feat that's not easy to overcome. Really good job on this game, I loved the music, the aesthetic was pretty good, the ending was satisfying, and the sounds were relaxing. There were a few minor issues, some completely understandable such as a few collision issues on rocks (some had no collision, and some were hard to navigate on).  I also was confused a bit over what I needed to do, or where to go, but the level design did manage to direct me after a little while.

Overall, again I'm really proud of how this game was made just within those 48 hours. I really hope you continue working on the game by polishing it off and maybe adding a bit of a longer experience.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! You're too kind! I hope to polish it up at some point! You guys did an awesome job on the art by the way, I love your sprites.

Submitted(+1)

No problem, you guys deserve the praise. And thank you! The team's really proud of the artists, and we hope to continue working on the game to bring the gameplay to the same level as well.

Really neat idea! The exploration was a lot of fun 👀

Beautiful, cute game. I liked to explore the island (you might add more stuff to explore in potential future update). Cool idea of swapping between the worlds (especially the mid-air swap, "the sky is the ocean" idea is cool, the islands look like hourglass, wow). I liked the music starting to play near end. OMG I LOVED the buttons. Jumping was sometimes harsh. Good job, well done. Thanks for the experience <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing <3

Really good, I definitely think there is more that could be done with this format but it'd be unreasonable to expect more in such a short time period of course. I liked the jumps where you had to swap mid-air. I think a little work on the way collisions work would make the platforming a bit more pleasant, such as how all vertical momentum seems to be killed when you collide with an obstacle. Also, really liked the decision to have the music kick in as you neared the end of the game, that was a nice touch.

Developer(+2)

Definitely agree that theres more we could do here! Thanks for playing. Your game was a blast!

Submitted(+1)

This is wildly impressive that you managed to make a first-person platform puzzler in just 48hrs, it looks good, has a great atmosphere, is just a nice time. The only things I'd say were that the movement and collisions could definitely use some work, very easy to get stuck on or in things, and many jumps you sorta have to trip up, I also think it would have been awesome to have music playing throughout the entire thing, some sort of nice quiet relaxed track, but, something to build on the already present atmosphere, perhaps even one for each mountain?

I quite liked how smooth the transitioning between peaks was, and the hint system designed as chalk or paint on the rocks looked great and worked pretty well, the only thing that wasn't terribly obvious was interacting with things, having some sort of pop up or other visual indicator when you are hovering something you can interact with would be nice.

All in all, I really enjoyed my time playing through it, even if at the end it is suggested that my player on finishing his mission was promptly crushed between the mountain peaks XD

Really fantastic work!

Developer(+2)

Totally agree with all your feedback. You nailed all the things I'd improve if I had a little more time. Thanks for checking it out. Your game was great as well!

Submitted(+1)

Unfortunately any game made with the old input system is for some reason almost unplayable on my PC. (correct me if I'm wrong, and you in fact used the new system?)

I wasn't able to play through to solve it, (movement is basically impossible for me) but I at least got it to flip the world and that was pretty dope! I can appreciate the uniqueness and cleverness of the idea! Well done! I love the menu screen!

Developer(+2)

We did use the old input system, but we werent aware of it causing performance issues. Really sorry about that! 'm glad you enjoyed as much as you were able to see!

Submitted(+1)

Really well designed and executed game for a game jam, even for a non game jam game! the flipping mechanic is so cool and solving puzzles dealing with that is really fun. I'm also a fan of subtle leading the player like with the blue paint you did. Fantastic job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your game was also fantastic

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game! I like the 3D art style and the changing of the season is a great mechanic that I haven't seen yet this jam, great job guys!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks so much! I really enjoyed your game as well. Outrun aesthetics and racing games go together so well.

Submitted(+1)

The idea and most of the execution is awesome! My main critiques are that the movement could be improved a bit ( maybe even some increased jump height could be good), and that it seems pretty easy to get lodged in between stuff.

Other than that, the idea is super cool and the animations and sounds really make the whole thing feel pretty slick

Developer(+2)

Thanks! Definitely a common sentiment with the controls. We'll try to polish them up once we're out of review times. Thanks for playing. Really enjoyed your game as well!
