Loved this! Such a clever concept! And could be a really great learning program to teach kids the different types of connections and to what device types and why we don't use the older ones etc. Loved it though! The physics application of the cables was a really nice touch!
Great job!
Glad to hear that you like it and thanks for playing it on your stream. It is always great feedback to see someone play. I spent a good amount of time on the cable physics so glad you liked them.
best way to see the theme
Thanks :)
In case there is apocalypse and the only way to save the world is to plug a palm to a printer with parallel port, I can be a hero! :D
Fun and relatable game
I hope we never need you but if so I know where to find our hero xD Glad that you liked the game :)
I like the idea, it’s very unique but I think you need to add more urgency, like your battery is low but for some reason you can’t charge your laptop so you have to do your presentation quickly.
Another idea is make multiple ways of connecting the connectors but then what connectors you use (vga or other old connectors might decrease the quality of the presentation and newer ones like hdmi will increase quality) and how you connect your connectors (maybe have a few switches that the player has to configure) will impact the quality of your presentation.
As for other stuff that you probably should improve, you should make a better tutorial because I don’t really like reading a wall of text before playing the game. And moving the connectors around was a bit fiddly, maybe you can make connectors easier to rotate?
Anyway, good job with the game, especially with just 48 hours!
Thanks for playing and thanks for all the great feedback.
This was very confusing, which was probably intentional. One of my favourites for sure!
I hope it was not too confusing. I wanted it to be a little confusing but not annoying. A very hard line to walk :) Glad to hear that it is one of your favorites.
Likewise to all other comments, I can agree that this is a very relatable situation! I'm pretty sure I had to do as wacky schemes of combinations back in university to get different laptops to work in our projectors as I had to do here. 😆
I think this game was pretty neat! The aesthetics were pleasing, the sounds were very clicky and satisfying, and the presentation room ambient and every one staring at you really helps give you that awkwardness as you try to solve the problem.
If there's one thing that I would have liked is if there were more than just one true-solution to the connections. It'd have been pretty fun to see more different types of ports (even if it they don't make sense in actuality) and seeing what sort of weird contraptions other jammers and players could put together to make it work! It'd also give it a fun sense of replayability, as I definitely tried to see if there were different combinations myself.
Overall though, this game still got a chuckle out of me and was pretty funny all things considered. I can tell you had fun making it as we had playing it. Cheers! 🐳
I am glad to hear you enjoyed the game. I would also have liked to have more than one solution but ran out of time. If I work on the game after the jam I am considering randomly generated dongles to increase replayability. I did have a lot of fun making it :D
That's a 15 star game right there.
wow! I am glad that you liked it and thanks a lot for the great rating :D
This game resembles the back of my television. 5/5.
hehe I should have called it fatcat milo television simulator xD but seriously thanks a lot for the great rating.
This the best game I played in this game jam 10/10
Thank you for playing my game. I really appreciate the nice comment and rating.
thanks for submitting to the form! You're on stream, say hi!
THE GOOD (what i liked, and what stood out for me):
I really liked the 3d aesthetic, it was really fun, and it genuinely made me feel awkward plugging in a ddr ram stick thing while everyone was staring to start the presentation XD. The sound effects were clicky and spot on, and the idea of the game was very very unique I'd say!
THE BAD (what i disliked, the bugs, and other problems):
I guess you could improve the text ui for the tutorial? or make it a built in tutorial?
THE HARSH (stuff that would just make the game better, usually just personal opinion, don't take it too heavily :D ):
Make the game longer!
OVERALL: 4,4,5, amazing work!
Thanks for playing my game on your stream it was fun to watch you play it and the other games. The great rating and your nice comments are much appreciated. :D
This was just an all around perfect jam game! Sweet and to the point like a Warioware mini-game, kept my attention fully through its short but fun stay!
The controls were really tight! Honestly, I figured that was going to be my big complaint, however after a few seconds of seeing how snappy things felt while still maintaining that physics-y feel I was completely at ease.
Perfect entry :)
All around perfect jam game... wow! that is very nice of you to say :D I am glad you liked the controls. I went through a lot of small prototypes at the beginning to get it right. Nice to hear it paid off.
lovely
Thanks!
This is highly satisfying :D Nice job!
Much appreciated and thank you for playing my game :)
welp, this is glorious. just great all around!
That is a very nice comment thank you so much :D
I love this entry for two reasons.
(1) It's clever, funny, has a great presentation and the ending actually made me laugh -- a true rarity in a jam game.
(2) It lets me be that pedantic jerk that mentions that a DVI-I and DVI-D connector are not compatible.
Thank you for both opportunities.
Thank you for playing my game. Glad you liked it and it is my pleasure to create a game that made you laugh :)
My own complaint is that this game isn't on steam yet >:(
Thanks for playing! If that is your only complaint I think I did an okay job, but seriously glad you liked it :)
I relate to this scenario so much after sitting in the back of so many meetings as people fiddle with the way to connect to the screen. This somehow captured that awkward moment so well and made it so fun! And the ending was absolutely hilarious! First game this jam that made me laugh out loud!
I was definitely inspired by my own experience from real life. Glad to hear that I was able to capture the awkwardness. It makes me smile knowing I made someone laugh out loud :D
Such an interesting way to think about the theme. Finally all those years off helping teacher's relics of a computer connect to the projector payed off
Thanks for playing my game. Glad to hear you finally were able to use all those years of training for something xD
This is the funniest entry so far. Honestly I'm just impressed at your dongle knowledge.
The funniest entry so far! That is very nice of you to say. Thanks :)
Quite funny. Would be really cool with more conversion types but really fun overall and fits the theme really well.
I am glad to hear you found the game fun. I wanted to have more types but began to lose overview on the last day. So I decided to focus on the sound design instead. Would have loved to have 10+ types with more than one possible way of winning, but that's the jam life I guess :)
