You rewind through your grandmother's memories as she losses them to Alzheimers

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code and made the images and animations. The sound came from online.

Best thing was the story line. Kudos for writing, that is not easy. The are was decent and the music was soothing and fitting to your game. Great job!

This hit me personally and appreciate you creating a game on such a topic.

Could you also play and rate my game?

Your game is interesting, definitely nice of you to promote awareness about Alzheimer's disease.

Audio is very relaxing.

I think you shouldn't be able to solve new levels before finishing the level before.

Graphics were very good, but the animations seemed a bit off, like they miss a frame or two.

Other than that, the game and the concept were pretty cool, I liked it :)

Yeah I did consider whether to make it so that you have to complete the levels first. The only reason I didn't is because for some reason I felt it fit better with the story?  I was thinking that it made it seem more like the memories were fading forever if you didn't catch them in time, and that you would have to move on. Buuuut... I also allowed players to repeat levels so I don't know really what I was thinking. I'm glad you liked the game though!

Wow, I really liked this game. Didn't at all expect the ending and was really touching to me.

You did an awesome job with the story and the music helps a lot. Maybe more levels and a higher difficulty as you progress would be nice, but again I absolutely loved it, five out of five for me.

Also this is the only game I've seen that exploits the idea of alzheimer apart from mine. Really good entry, well done!

Would be cool if you could also check my game out and leave a rating, as it also has to do with alzheimer (only that it has a happy ending). Any feedback will be highly appreciated :)

Developer(+1)

I considered whether to have a happy ending at the end, but eventually decided that it would take away from the ultimate premise of the game. It's cool that we had similar ideas though! It shows that great minds think a like.

Yes, it actually felt like the ending your game needed, very touching. Also yeah, definitely agree on that last part! Honestly, we had a great idea :)

Sad games unite! A touching story and concept. For difficulty: Blowing away the dementia ghosts may be too easy. I wish there'd be an actual fight with them as you struggle to get them away, but that may be hard since there's multiple ghosts coming.

Overall, nicely done! I like it!

Developer

United in tears! Its interesting that you found blowing away the ghosts too easy, bc I added that after getting feedback that they were too difficult to deal with before. If I continue with the game I will definitely have to work on balancing.

Such a nice and sad story!!! I'm impressed! Game design is smart, really nice gameplay where you need to dodge the enemies and go to certain places. It is a little bit too easy, maybe that is were your biggest improvements could be. Graphics are really weird hahaha and cute, so no complain on that.

Overall is a great game for a 1 week time stamp, with a few improvements and tweaks you could make a wonderful game!

Developer

Thanks for your kind feedback. I agree that the graphics are a bit odd (I still haven't figured out how perspective or legs work) but I'm glad you liked it anyway. And yeah I've gotten a good amount of feedback that it was too easy, but also some were it is too hard so I'm not sure where that leaves me. I think I'll probably include a difficult setting in the future if I continue with it.

This game is wonderful! It utilizes the theme in a smart way and even has an emotional element to it. I love the way the story is told and the backs of the pictures. I did find that there wasn't too many enemies towards the end, so it was pretty trivial, but I love every other thing about this game. Well done!

Developer

That's funny because the last level was the one that I even struggled with sometimes.  I am considering adding in a difficulty setting in the future, so maybe that would help.

Its a really great take on the theme, well done!

Developer

Thank you!

Smart use of the theme rewind. The background audio was really pleasant. Love the graphics too but you could have worked on sideways moving animation..

Developer

lol, I agree. I still haven't quite figured out how legs work.

Very well design! Really touching and sad. I knew someone with Alzheimer, and saw how their family experience exactly the same as in the game.

Well done! Congratulations

I'm glad this game was able to connect with you. I based this idea from a friend who lost her father to alzhiemiers recently. I really like the idea that people through those that they have influenced and remember them.

I love how you explicit the theme 'rewind' into telling a story.

Developer

Thank you. I had a hard time at first figuring an interesting mechanic for rewind, so I was a little worried that the theme connection would seem loose. I had to stop myself from interesting the word "rewind" into the game as many times as possible.

Great game really touched my heart. Thank you for raising awareness for Alzheimer's disease.

Developer(+2)

Thank you.  A friend of mine recently lost her dad to Alzheimer's, and when the theme was announced I thought of him. I'm glad this game was able to have an impact on you.

WOW! The story in this one is so deep! Really not expecting a work like that, so polished in the storytelling. I wanted to see more of your stories!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I may consider adding more levels once the restriction is lifted.

That one hit hard. Good job.

Thank you.

Lol sorry. I'm glad you enjoyed the game despite the unsolicited feels.

THIS IS SO GOOD. But also painful. Why the feels?
