In what way does your game fit the theme?
We interpreted the theme as two words: Re & Wind. It’s the task of the player to repeatedly use wind and control the wind to manipulate the sailboat race to ensure that order is kept.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code and visual assets were made by the team. The only assets that were not made by the team were ambience sound effects by Gamemaster Audio & Imphenzia.com, and the Soundtrack “Beauty for Sale” by Streambeats.com.

Hilarious game! I loved the little voices and how crazy it can get.

When I was still getting my 8-boat across the finish line, my 9-boat got whisked away by a tornado and made it across the finish line right before my 8-boat. A sad but such a funny moment. :'D

Great job everyone! <3

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed our game :)

Thank you so much! 😊 Sorry to hear about your little 9-boat, but glad to hear you enjoyed the game! 😊

The looks of this game are amazing, as the music. The gameplay was alright, a bit too rough on the random storms and hurricanes but totally manageable. The concept is also pretty great, as well as how you played with the theme. My only caveat is the sound effects, not a huge fan of those and became rapidly repetitive. But otherwise, great job!!! It was a fun game!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game :) I just played yours on stream and had a nice time looking at all the nice punny movie titles :)

Thank you so much for playing the game 😊

This game looks amazing, and it's really simple to play as well. I did feel like the boats were really out of control at some points, but I guess that's all part of the experience. I don't really like the sound effects that much, although that's probably just me. Great work! :D

Thank you for playing! 😊

Very good game! I love the graphics and the dynamic shape of the wind. The sounds and the music are also very original.
Good idea.
Congratulations and good job!

Thank you so much for the nice comment and for playing the game! 😊

I have one word, amazing.

The sound effects are cute, the game looks stunning (the artstyle and colors just pop). The wind feels dynamic and effects the boats just as it should do. The water is high quality too. The tutorial shows just enough that it's not too long but helps me get to speed. This is one of my or my favorite game of this jam!

Amazing job guys, I want to see more!

The game was really great and well polished, and also good use of the theme. i love the art especially the UI design. Hope you guys try mine as well.

I love the way your game looks; the gameplay purpose (high score from repeated tries) fits really well with having a single level and polishing it to the max, which shows good cohesion. Your game definitely looks like it could be on Steam - everything from the UI and graphics to the audio mixing and the voice noise filtering feels polished. Fantastic job!

Hey, you guys made a great job creating a unique game here, nice sounds, atmospheric, real good polished game. Congrats !

thank you for the kind words, glad you liked our game.

Very very nice game, everything works together perfectly, and all the little sounds and voices make it even better! Only negative was that there seems to be a bit too much of the lightning and waterspouts, it made it feel like I didn't have much control over the boats.

Developer

Thanks a lot :) We kind of enjoyed the chaos ourselves, but we toned it down a bit in the end :D Christer added wave based spawns to allow the player some breathing room during a playthrough. They increase a little in intensity over the race. Anyway, thanks for checking out our game, and for the feedback!

Purely a masterpiece , I would have enjoyed more levels but looking at the polishing it is fine for one week developement. sfx are awesome, music is awesome I am also a fan of low poly s it's a 10/10 from me😁😁

Thanks for all the kind words :)

can you suggest me some tutorial for such toon shader, which wont be too heavy for mobile

Developer(+2)

Snuti Made a video and Reddit post about that a while ago; link to the video here: https://youtu.be/g8eBXCgWwrk

Thank you so much , I will check this out😁

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! 😍 We actually have a toon shader tutorial on our YouTube channel, how well it works on mobile really depends on how many targets must have updated lighting in real time. But for ReSail we don't use any toon shading! All the environment materials apart from the ocean and VFX are just the standard Unity shader with a  colour applied. …The ocean shader on the other hand, that's quite a big Shader Graph setup for this game! 😅 Glad you liked the game ❤

Really cool game! The sound effects were hilarious and moving the ships around was fun. The only thing you should consider changing is making the race shorter and having different levels with different terrain. I found that I was sorting all the boats right at the finish line instead of throughout the race so the race doesn't need to be that long. I really did enjoy the game though! Check out my game if you have a chance. I love feedback!

Developer(+1)

I’m glad you enjoyed the game and thank you for the feedback

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for some awesome feedback! 😍 We did consider making different levels but time was not on our side, but will definitely think about that for the future! 😊

"Boat 4, crossing the finish line flying in the air, covered in flames, after being eaten by a tornado."

Narrator : -Boat 4, kind of finished.-

I laughed so loud at this, believe me.

A beautiful and funny game, for sure. Good work!

PS: and are those Pikmin's sounds?? 😂😂

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed our game :)

The sounds were all done by Clare, she did such a great job :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the awesome comment! 😊 So glad you enjoyed the game and found it funny! 🤣 I (Clare) had way too much fun recording the voice effects for the game, so glad you loved it. It isn't Pikmin sounds, just me having way too much fun making funny sounds with the microphone. This is something we do for all our games 😊

Wow, your game looks really good! I kinda wished the camera was locked. There were many times where my camera went bonkers Lol! Great entry!

Developer

I really liked this one! It somehow manages to be both calming and stressful at the same time haha. I  think the main complaint I have is just the spawning of the weather effects, since I had a few times where they all spawned in big clusters all at once. Also, it didn't seem like my wind was affecting them. But that's really my only bad thing, I loved everything else! I especially liked the boats finishing, I really liked the extra little detail you guys put into that :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the nice comment and feedback! 😊 The wind was able to affect the weather effects so you can move them out of the way but you needed a lot of wind to move them. We should have probably made it clearer in the tutorial, so thanks for the tips 😊

Wow super awesome! I felt like an airbender XD(watch Avatar the Last Airbender if you haven't) very fun guiding the ships along.  The the lowpoly art and lighting was superb!!  Great stuff as usual :D

Developer

Thank you! So glad you liked the game and thank you for playing! 😊

The art and music in this game is amazing, and really helps with the atmosphere. The you could scroll on the first screen, which was a bit annoying, but only because I have a Magic Mouse. It just barely fits the theme, but other than that, I have no complaints.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the nice comment! 😊 Didn't realise you could scroll on the first screen, so thanks for pointing that out.

Submitted(+2)

Incredible graphics and atmosphere, I just don't know that this really follows the theme. I get the spin of splitting it into re-wind, but it felt like you leaned heavily into the "wind" and didn't really give attention to the "re".

Developer

Thank you for the comment and for playing the game! So glad you liked it! 😊 We interpreted "Re" as repeatedly where you could place the wind down repeatedly to move things around, there was no restrictions on how many wind elements you could place 😁

Fair enough!
