BE SURE TO READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLAYING!
This is RetroScape. If you're a fan of portal, you'll love this game.
As you traverse through your space ship, you must unlock each door to get to the next room. How do you unlock these doors? Well, in order to solve each puzzle, you realize you must go back in time to look for clues, get past debris, air holes, and many more obstacles. You must use your rewind ability, watch your oxygen levels, and health simultaneously as you try to solve our puzzles.
CONTROLS:
WASD - Movement
E - Interactables
Q - Rewind
TIPS:
A lot of things in the game are interactable, which includes the following:
Buttons | Switches | Turret Switches | Cubes | Symbols | Oxygen & Health Packs
When you use your rewind ability, after moving in the past you teleport back to your original position in the present. This is key to solving some levels.
Turrets are activated in the present but deactivated in the past. Unless you turn them on in the past ;)
While in the past, your ships hull isn't breached, which means you don't lose oxygen while you're in the past. This is key to managing your oxygen.
Hull Breaches decrease your oxygen loss rate substantially. DON'T GO NEAR THEM in the (present state).
In order to get access to some cubes you must use a cube (maybe even multiple)
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code was written by us! All assets were made by us except music and royalty free SFX. Music artist gave us permission to use his music. Artist was given credit in our game description.

This game is quite difficult at first. The puzzles are fun to solve, and the music is really good!
A.L.L.I.S.O.N does a fantastic job with his music!
It was difficult at first to understand how oxygen works, but afterwards it was nice to play. Graphics and music are very good. Congratulations
Thank you very much! Glad you got to play our game! Can you beat it?!
This was a really clever mechanic. you explored lots of different puzzle possibilities. I will say, at least at first, it was hard to manage oxygen, almost too unforgiving!
But i loved the setting and puzzles you created
indeed it is very unforgiving (in the present) ;) if you don’t want to play with oxygen consumption, there’s a hidden mode in the main menu that you can play without it!

Great Game, really fun and loved the puzzle design
Thank you!
Pretty fun, the graphics and atmosphere are great. I was confused at first because there was no tutorial for it, but I figured it out after a while.
Glad you figured it out! No tutorial was our intentions! We want you to figure out how your ability works and how to solve our puzzles, while also learning each mechanic. We give subtle hints in our description if you ever get stumped.
Great game, you applied the mechanics pretty well and I love the idea of being in the space. I don´t know if it's just me but sometimes I got stuck in some places maybe you have to adjust some colliders.
Yes. We thought about that issue but we figured that we wanted people to memories the present and past to be sure where to use your rewind. There’s also places in our levels where you must get stuck to beat them! if you get stumped, watch our walkthrough. We show you how to beat every level
Things I liked, this was a FANTASTIC puzzle game, I absolutely adored the pixel art and I thought the music help bring it through the roof. Honestly I am a really big fan of the quick punish types of games and this one learned the most important lesson of *die quickly* so that the player can get back into the thick of things as quick as possible.
Things I disliked, the only real thing I disliked was the fact that the important boxes could be destroyed by turrets. Certain levels have turrets everywhere so its almost impossible to keep them protected.
But that in it's entirety is just a critic of game play and honestly you should be thrilled with where you are at with this game. Hope to see more in the future!

Thank you so much for the detailed review! There is a way to turn off the turrets via turret switches or you can ignore that mechanic and try your hardest to protect them!
I really liked the concept of having to rewind time to gain access to certain objects along with the hull breaches. I will agree with others though that the difficulty curve was a bit rough. I didn't actually see the cube in the first level till my third try. It would be massively helpful if you could highlight objects of importance or simply use a brighter color scheme to draw attention towards them like with mirror's edge.
Thanks for the feedback! We tried to make all interactables pop out with vibrant colors! maybe we should’ve made the cubes more vibrant!
Enjoyed playing this one, cool concept!
Thank you! :)
Really cool concept! I found this game to be pretty fun and challenging with absolutely amazing pixel art! But as others have said, with a pretty rough difficulty curve. Often times, I knew the solution to the puzzle but did not have enough time to complete it (unless that was part of the puzzle). Otherwise it was an awesome and great work!
It is a really interesting game!
It also looks amazing , is really polished, and has amazing sounds.
I couldn't figure out all of the puzzles, but the real problem is I didn't fully understand why my solutions to the first puzzles worked.
I really disagree with you that puzzles are about figuring out what you need to do. Of course you can make that kind of game and I like some games like that but they can be really frustrating and I believe that puzzles inherently should have all of the information shown to you. That's my problem with the witness. I played it for some time and really liked it but after a while stuff just became guessing what the hell Johnathan Blow expects me to do and where to go. And after hours of wandering around looking for clues to where I need to go next, I gave up.
This game is a much more linear so it avoid this problem or wandering around but it can be really frustrating, not understanding a thing, trying something and then suddenly getting taken from the level without any explanation, or maybe just dying once again to the depleting oxygen.
It is an amazing game, and I have no idea how you could make that in a week but I have a major disagreement with you about this. And I think it's even more of a risk in a jam game - when Fez does this to me, I am much more willing to go along with it and might try to figure stuff out for hours but I won't spend more than 20 minutes trying to figure out one jam game.
We really appreciate your feedback! It clicks for some and not others! We understand that. If you ever get stumped, we highly recommend watching our play through or reading our tips! Theres also a mode with no oxygen consumption in the main menu! Secrets!!!
Ok, I'll try that mode, thanks!
Here is a detailed Review for the game! Although i was unable to submit, I still love to play everyones submissions.
Here are my first impressions:
- The game has a very hard learning curve! Even though there isn't a tutorial intentionally, the dev's gave us everything we need to figure out the game on our own! I'd highly recommend reading throughout the description thoroughly, as they recommend before playing. They also give us a bunch of tips and a whole walkthrough of the game! After figuring out the concept, i became highly addicted to solving their puzzles.
- I see a lot of people complaining about the oxygen consumption; however, i had no issues with it after i figured out how to use my rewind ability properly. The devs also gave us a "Dev Mode" that takes away the oxygen mechanic and unlocks every door. So you're able to figure out the levels and then restart normally as you wish.
- Pixel art is stunning! Besides a few layering issues, thats i can see. Great work.
- Music: The music makes me feel in Space!! So gooood! Great feature to allow music volume and sound volume separately
- Overall: Besides a little rocky start, This game deserved the best. Props to Jelli Studios to making such a fun and unique game!
9.5/10!
Thank you for the review! You nailed it!
This is a cool idea, but I feel it throws you in a bit too fast. Maybe you aren't timed on the first few levels, and then you start losing oxygen? I understand the appeal of a hard game, but if you don't understand it, it's hard to have fun. The art is amazing, and the audio is as well. I thought the walkthrough was a nice touch as well.
Thank you for the feedback! We really appreciate it! Feel free to read our tips for a better understanding!
It sure does! Think about it, if you don’t have oxygen! you’re going to die out pretty fast! it’s meant to be hard!
Beautiful game and really enjoyed the rewind mechanic! The music was also very fitting for the game! :)
We made sure the rewind mechanic was crucial to solving our Puzzles! :)
Looks awesome, but it takes a while to figure out controls and there is little room for it with the oxygene, maybe it should goes slower for the first puzzles.
Great feedback! we did this intentionally! we want you to figure out how everything works! if you ever get stumped, watch our walkthrough or read our tips!
The idea is awesome and I loved the detail! However, I wasn't able to get past the first level because I couldn't quite figure out the controls or what things I could interact with. A tutorial level or super simple level would be very helpful.
Thanks for the feedback! We highly suggest reading our game description all the way through before playing! You will definitely find help there. We didn’t put in a tutorial intentionally!
Great graphics and concept
Thank you!
This was great! I love the art style
Thank you! We appreciate it!
