Funny idea. I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Did it without the walkthrough and loving it. That's really creative. But now, I want more ;)

Submitted

i think this game has potential but I wasn't able to figure it out.  creative though!

Developer

Hi, don't hesitate to check out the walkthrough in the description or directly ask us for a clue, we'll be happy to help :)

couldn't move the ambient volume slider even with the walktrough lmao. great game, I really loved it

Developer(+1)

Whoops sorry I did the walkthrough in a bit of a rush and didn't even think to include this bit. You need to click on the "A" and "V" of the label, they act like up and down arrows. Glad you liked it anyway!

thanks !

That's a super game, reminds me a bit of Poney Island and There is no Game.
I was stuck 'cause i thought the clue on the wall with the arrows was for the key bidding and not the "game" section. But with your playthrough sheet i get to the awesome end.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I like your game's concept, following to check out the finished version.

I came here to play the game and I stayed because dangitimgonnafigurethisoutifittakesallnight! I thought this was a super clever idea! it was really fun uncovering the next layer of the puzzle once you realize that everything could be anything, . Nicely done, and great game!

Developer

Ha thanks so much for your feedback! That's exactly the feeling we were trying to elicit, I'm glad you had fun!

This game made me laugh!

It seems I accidentally guessed the solution to one of the puzzles, so I missed a bunch of stuff on my first playthrough (I didn't increase the texture quality; I guessed which letters were the right ones).  Also it still auto-jumps even if I don't check the auto-jump checkbox.  Still a good game overall.

Developer

Dang I'm impressed that anyone guessed the right keys! We did not account for this possibility. By the way almost none of the parameters have actual effects on the "game", there is no auto-jump it's just our joke ending. We should have picked less misleading parameters 😅

I genuinely enjoyed this. It is a metagame type but one that targets the UI, requiring the player to go back and forth between the game space and the (perceived) UI space to solve the riddles. While metagame titles have been around for a good while already (at least as far back as The Tower, I believe), this one makes the ability to play itself the game. Yes, meta to the core.

I did rely on the Walkthrough for some bits, but the solutions I missed on my own did not seem too far of a reach. The fact that a walkthrough was included is greatly appreciated and shows that the devs really understand their game's relationship with the audience. And for me, the length of it felt just right as well.

The visual polish on this is great and is even incorporated into some of the riddles. Normally, I cap presentation scores at 3 stars if one of either art or audio used pre-existing assets, but I actually never got the audio to work. As such, I will just treat it as not having audio and score the art accordingly, with an extra bonus for incorporating graphical fidelity itself into the gameplay (it's faked, but the idea itself counts to me).

Ultimately, the best compliment I can pay it is that I did not play and review this as part of the obligatory 25 on the queue list. I was first intrigued and then became invested in the experience. The game caught and held my attention on its own. Great work!

This is such nice and complete feedback, thank you so much! Indeed there is no audio at all in the game, we didn't have time to add any but then we didn't know which option to pick in the submit form. We really appreciate you taking the time to write all this, and we're so glad you liked our little game! Thank you again.

Excellent idea, very original, I liked it very much. Some of the puzzle can be a little hard to figure on our own, I had to used to walkthrough for the first one and for putting the poster numbers. It is specially hard for the first one I think when the player don't know yet what the game is about. May be starting with an easier one will make less player look to the walkthrough. The one based on the resolution was really clever and it is nice that the last one was based on two different ones, it makes the game less linear. I was a little disappointed that there was no effect of the settings on the "real game" (no music after the music is enabled, no way to move freely after the end, ...) but overall it was very smart and very enjoyable puzzle game !

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated! If we ever rework it we'll definitely keep all of this in mind.

I loved it. I couldn't figure out the mouse sensitivity slider, so I had to check the walkthrough :P

The inertia slider was my favorite

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really love the concept of your game, it could probably make a sweet meditation app. I'll rate it as soon as I've cleared my queue.

So clever! I had to use the walkthrough but the meta of the control panel being the puzzle was really hilarious, the rumble was my favourite. Great ending as well!

Developer

Thank you so much for your nice comment! It's nice to see the rumble being appreciated, we love it too.

Ahahaha great game! I really laughed for the inertia thing. Totally the kind of meta game I like.  Keep creating games!

Developer

Thank you so much, your comment goes right to my heart!

Really clever puzzle, but there should have been some better prize for solving it, and also the hints should have been a bit more obvious here and there. I had to look up the walktrough once. But again, really clever puzzle.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your feedback, much appreciated!

This is an insane idea, and i would most likely never have gotten it without the walk-through, but even if I was just trying to follow the tutorial it was crazy enough that i enjoyed it.

Getting so many crazy mechanics in 2 days (plus implementing them) is actually quite creative, good work!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the puzzles, they were really fun to come up with.

I think you need to add more hints. The poster is good, it was obvious it meant something, but more of that environmental guidance would make it more approachable.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback! The game was meant to encourage people to test and explore every option when they realize things do not react as expected, and we felt like the puzzles were easy enough once you do that. But it's good to know that might not be the case.

I couldn't get the lady to move for some reason. I tried remapping the key bindings but wasn't able to get it settled. Looked intriguing though !

Developer (1 edit)

We noticed a few people get stuck at this point...

If you're still interested, feel free to check out the walkthrough we added to the game description
